I wonder because he's been an actor for so long , , , does he put on an act sometimes . . so he does make others feel uncomfortable?

I've never seen Adam make others feel uncomfortable. Quite the opposite. If anything, he makes others feel very comfortable. It's evident in just about everything he does. Just because he can adapt to fit different situations, which we all do, doesn't mean he's "acting" or "faking." It just means he adjusts well to whatever he has to do. He does the human thing, exceptionally well.

Acting is part of what he must do to not let the haters win, as he has always said. Even with the clueless ignoramus, he is compassionate with his comments, which comes from an empathy heightened by the fire he's endured from the haters.
Fighting fire with fire only reduces all to ashes; no sense in hastening the inevitable. Life's too short. Beyond everything else--his obvious gifts, Adam is wise for his tender age.

Adam faces heartache, every time someone slams him for being gay, and also when he takes Sauli on the red carpet. He is well aware of the comments being made. The papps call out his name for a good pic of him, just to make news for their rags. I think it helps to save his sanity being able to go home with Sauli. I wouldn't be surprised if they makes gay jokes themselves, but it would be said in love and laughter. I think we all do that to some degree about ourselves, in the privacy of our homes and only with our loved ones. Adam isn't the only one who acts in public, we all do, and keep a smiling face, even if we have been hurt by someone. That's where poise and class comes in, and we are all the better for it.

Adam is only human like all of us, paparazzi, press guys, etcccccc with Feelings!!!

Anne Marie, I LOVE what you said. It's all so true. Sauli has helped Adam I'm sure, to finally have someone like him to go home to and share his day with and vice versa. I am so happy for them. I hope it lasts because they are both beautiful people obviously.

There's an old song from the 1940s called .. 'LAUGHING on the OUTSIDE . CRYING on the INSIDE' ... a beautiful ballad. ADAM said there is a song on TRESPASSING that addresses these emotions ... no matter how you feel UNDERNEATH you put on a SMILE to hide your true feelings for whatever reason you may feel bad. We've .. ALL of us .. had to do this at one time or another in our lifetime ... certainly NOT to make others feel UNcomfortable .. but quite the opposite!!

As for the VH1 Top 20 Countdown ... although I was happy to see that ADAM has been added ... I'm a little disappointed about his position ... I've been VOTING several times a day on both VH1 sites & had hoped he would have entered at #11 or #12 ... at least. Well ... I guess I'm going to have to get down to business & DOUBLE my VOTING!! ADAM is so much BETTER than most of those other artists ... JMO

Life is a drama and unfortunately at times, Adam has to face the criticism, hatred and ridicule of others. He knows how to handle himself, to adjust or adapt to a specific situation and seems to do it quite well. We all--every one of us--act to some extent every single day. Adam is hurt by some remark constantly. If he succumbed to every emotion, he could not get on with his life. Imagine what type of hateful tweets he receives. Sometimes, he does vent, but he usually manages to keep it to himself. Can't imagine the anger and hurt he experiences. He is truly a hero. When Paula called him the most courageous/bravest contestant Idol ever had, she meant it. Still true.

Well, with other people quoting Shakespeare etc. I'm a bit reluctant to quote Donna Karan but here goes: NEVER LET THEM SEE YOU SWEAT.

The subtext of that ad was the status of women in the workplace. A generation of women were entering managment in significant numbers and she was a successful female designer, holding her own against the men.

Her advice was: follow my lead, go out there and do it. And if they get to you, don't let them know it.

I think Adam has that kind of approach to life and it's obstacles.
