She was pretty nice for a change. Better than the other one a few years back. He is a good sport Really looking forward to GMA. Hope that trends too.

Happy to be gay, Adam"?Happy to release your new very gay album, Adam? For God sakes,I'm sure that 2 years ago Adam and his fans hated these kind of interviews

Anonymous said...

I didn't mind it because this is Chelsea Lately and you expect it really with this show and with her.
I will mind it if it were jay Leno, Letterman, Conan, Kimmel, Fallon, Ferguson or Daly.
CONGRATULATIONS, ADAM, Number 1!!!

Anonymous said...

Adam should be referred to as musician period. Having interviewers talk about his sexuality like that is the most important thing is ridiculous. He is an artist. She said gay is cool so that was a redeeming factor. I look forward to interviews with Leno one day. Hope it happens soon. Talk about the music first and foremost and then go there if you must. I love everything about Adam. But I fell in love with the vocals, music and the man.

I think Adam is lucky because his alubm is going to be release in very right time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is deff Time For Miracles!

@10:19
Actually, it's not a good release date because of the planetary aspects beginning that date for more than 2 weeks.
I think RCA did everything they can to counter this, as they have been told, why all this early shipment and streaming it for all the world, than wait for May 15.
So, Trespassing will not be affected negatively.
Happy about all this strategy.
It's a win win for ADAM!
It's his Time for Miracles in 2012!

Anon 10.16 I agree with you. This what Chelseas show is like, its ok. But not on the other shows.
So happy with how Trespassing is performing.

Honestly, I don't care about trends or tweets. I don't care about gay rights. I love Adam as musician and don't care about his gender/I hope Adam will sell enough albums to get Billboards and get AMA or Grammy's nod or nods. But Adam still doesn't have big brother Usher with billion $ investments.

Jak here......OT...instead of a new Mother's Day poem, I decided to share a Mother's Day letter from 2006 with you. It's
dedicated to Moms, wanna be Moms and everyone who had a Mom!

Let's call it.....MOM'S JOB

In May of 2006 in the span of one week, my grandson turned 18, graduated from high school and we celebrated Mother's Day. I wrote him this letter.

Happy Graduation...we knew you could do it
Happy Birthday...Best day of my life
Happy Mother's Day...Yes, you!

On that May morning when your Mom first met you she made a promise to God. She would keep you safe from....speeding cars....broken jars....escalators....alligators....stormy seas....poison peas....timber wolves....horse's hooves....surgical stitches....scary witches....falling trees....asthma wheeze....mean dogs....wild hogs....bottomless lakes....coral snakes....biting fleas....stinging bees....vampires....forest fires....broken heart....poison darts....dread disease....girls that tease, etc. etc. etc.

You must admit, she's done a darn good job. As you go thru life remember to view things from more than one perspective.

From your view "She's on my back"!!
From her view "She's got your back"

Just a thought from Grandma
I love you now and forever.
..........Now, Lets' Party!........

This is a little early but I won't be with y'all on Mother's day.I have a hot date with a cool guy for a beach weekend. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Oh, this is taking the ridiculous
overboard 'gay' issue and setting a release value with humor! Adam was very relaxed and comfortable and Chelsea used a positive out the box vibe that well promoted Adam. Plus, it is 'cool' to be 'gay'! Loved it!

I think all of this ideas that "Outlaws of Love" is "Beautiful Gay Anthem" is rediculous. This song is about bullies.
How about this? When I was in high school I went through a lot of bulling because I was skinny and tall with "big boobs" and "fat lips". Everybody made fun on me.And went throuh a lot of bulling, didn't have many friends, and never went to the girls locker room unitl I was 18 years old. It was many years ago.But when I listen "Outlaws Of Love" I remember myself in the time when I have no friends no boyfriend. But I wanted to find "Somebody To Love"

OMG!Tresspassing has such a good # on amazon.Still can't understand this deal about releasing deluxe and original versions of album. Seems that total amount of all these sales could keep Tresspassing as #1 on amason top 100 music for few days. But as far as there are two albums, they get different numbers of sales:(

Anonymous said...

@ 11:27 pm

JAK here......does it help a little to know now that a large percentage of Hollywood stars pay fortunes to stay skinny, appear tall with 5 inch heels and undergo several surguries to have big boobs and fat (full) lips? You were ahead of your time. Always being the tallest girl in my class was agony for me for several years....then it paid off. I was able to supplement my college scholarship by runway modeling...it paid good!
And nothing helps shyness and self esteem like "struttin your stuff"!

I don't care about her humor. When will anybody stop referring to Adam as a gay artist. She is an idiot.
Sick of this.
Do we have to?

MotoMoto said...

Guys Adam is GAY and the only young high profile gay man in music today. Given the political climate in America at the moment and with gay marriage being such a hot topic we can't be naive and expect it not to come up in interviews. If it is bein brought up in a positive way I don't mind as much....and this is Chelsea so of course she was going to bring it up.

Having said that I don't like it when its the focus of his interviews as opposed to his music and other accomplishments. Lets hope on GMA they discuss a wide range of topics and not bring up AMAs.

I loved the interview...he looked happy and Chelsea always asks the most hilarious questions 'sexy and crazy like what....I'm gonna rape you' Hahahaha

Anonymous said...

What an idiot interview. They could have beeped the rape also. Luckily Adam knows how to handle any shit they through at him. He's so cool.

Anonymous said...

This clip elevates gay to a level where it no longer casts the shadow, thanks to a sure-footed Adam. He meets Chelsea's cheeky, tongue-in-cheek with perfect equanimity, and navigates the talk out of what could potentially have been an awkward exchange. There's a refreshing feel to this, as I see the elephant in the room doing a gig. It shows a side of Adam I enjoy as much as his singing: his irrepressible wit and his deft handling of anything with masterful aplomb. No stigma, hence no sting. atm

Anonymous said...

She is such an idiot, terrible interviewer. Why always bring up the gay stuff. Noticed she tried to question about BF but he steered the conversation away from that subject. I guess Adam has to go to some of these stupid programs, any publicity is good I suppose.

Anonymous said...

Adam handles everything with humor, wit and coolness. Such a smart man. Not a fan of Chelsea's though - mean.

Anonymous said...

In my opinion, Adam was excellent in this interview! He answers very quickly, also on some tricky questions. And at the same time he can keep it funny :) Ok, it was full of gay stuff but not in a worst possible way. Because I haven't seen any other of her shows, don't know if she acts the same way with everyone... That rape thing was very tasteless.

I believe the more Adam has this kind of relaxed visits on tv with his handsome look, honest confessions of his serious love relationship and owning his songs, it's easier for public to adopt his artistry and forget the past happenings that might have taken the attention from his great abilities and performances. He really is so balanced, don't need to go over the edge in things.

I really love his hot hot sexy performances in the past, but as well I love this new more matured Adam, whose music is now more personal and honest. And besides, there's no way you can take away that natural sexiness and magnetism he has ;) I hope my boyfriend could express his feelings like Adam does.

Sorry, I have no idea why my previous post appeared twice...

LN

Anonymous said...

LN: You said it so well (twice :)! I have watched this interview at least four times. I had to watch it again because of some of the comments here. But I still think it is a good one and Adam was excellent. They talked about his sexuality, but also about the album, Pharell, Elton, Queen gigs etc. But it was a brief interview and seemed to flow freely: Adam himself started talking about Elton and said laughing about the gig with Queen and Elton something like that it will be "gayest of all". Adam was so relaxed and looked healthy, gorgeous and happy. I'm sure there will be interviews that are more serious and concentrate more in his music. IMO this was fun!

Newfie Duck said...

Brief but bodacious - all-round plus! As someone eluded, considering the recent highlights of Obama's opinion on gay marriage it was only fitting that this would be addressed and I'm sure Adam was just fine with it.In as much as we all would like every interview to be about the music sometimes the other is just as important in order to afford those who are not familiar with the persona of "Adam Lambert" an opportunity to know what we all know - the fun-loving, compassionate, regular guy he is and, in turn, tune in to his music and never look back! So, yes, any and every interview has value in getting Adam and his music out there. Just remember to look for the positive. In other words take the "Pollyanna" approach....all is well. Bravo Adam!

Anonymous said...

Here we go AGAIN! I too don't care about the GAY. Adam's fans have NOT cared from the beginning. Love him-LOVE the MUSIC. Hatin' on the hairdresser though. I really enjoyed seeing the brief clip of Adam on AI last night. I really miss that look and the glam. I know there is a lot of people that feel that way. He seems to cut his hair once a week and it is beautiful so why ADAM!?????THIS FAN, and I AM is waiting....for the old look to come back. SO here I go again... Hairdresser! keep an archive and pay attention to the fans begging for the emo to return. Grandpa don't live in that body so lay off the hair lady!

Anonymous said...

It was great to Adam looking so relaxed and happy, but I did not like the interview. Talk about the music, the making of the album and let's not focus so much on the gay issue. However, Adam seemed to handle himself well with quick, witty answers. But when the word rape came into the conversation, that was too much. I want to hear Adam sing, talk about this new album and let's get away from the fact he is gay and any reference to the AMAs. He has so much that is good happening for him now so I hope when he appears on GMA,the interview focuses on this aspect of his career.

THIS IS THE NATAURE OF CHELSEA'S SHOW PEOPLE! There is a lot of crude and sometimes tawdry talk about homosexuality, heterosexuality, SEXUALITY, partying... and it's mostly tongue in cheek... I have a love hate relationship with Chelsea personally, but honestly, she gets some good stuff out of her interviewees, so I keep coming back. Like some of have said here, it's actually a pretty cool interview, and if it gets HER CROWD buying Trespassing people, IT'S A WIN/WIN!!! There is always a certain tone to her show, and it was applied to Adam, I'm venture to guess he was well aware of that going in!!!

Noteworthy: She seemed to really dig him, and Chuey jumped right up to go over at end, did you catch that? He digs AL too

I enjoyed the interview...we really must keep in mind that Chelsea Handler IS a comedienne and an interview with her will not necessarily be "just about the music". Chelsea is known for her irreverent attitude and comments so I would not expect the interview to be a more "typical one", ie for "informational purposes" only. I thought they actually covered a lot of info in the brief time Adam was on the show..The truly relevant points, such as Trespassing the album, Sauli mention (Adam is always so sweet and happy when speaking of Sauli), working with Ferrell, the Queen gigs, etc....I did think Adam talking about being completely open about being gay on Idol and that if anyone had asked on camera he would have been honest about it was interesting...The thing to remember here is that "Chelsea Lately" is not "60 Minutes". It's meant to be humourous with an edge...and it was (mostly..the "rape" comment wasn't particularly funny IMO..that is never funny, even as a joke, but Adam didn't miss a beat with his answer to it.."We're pretty vanilla; there's no rape.."). I wasn't bothered really by the "Gay" talk...He's gay. His comment "I'm also the HUMAN guy who sings..." was perfect. Although perhaps an understatement! Its more like "I'm the amazingly talented and charming and articulate and handsome and intelligent and witty and...guy who sings like no other..." but we know Adam is also humble, so I'll just add all of that for him. ; ))) The only real complaint I have about this appearance is that it was TOO SHORT! Looking forward to his appearance on Good Morning America on Monday... I have a feeling THAT will be interesting!

Anonymous said...

@2:37..I to agree, and very well said..

Anonymous said...

Anon 6:09 AM: Adam is 30. He is a grown man. Maybe he does not want the same things as you do (EMO-hair, glam); he wants to be this more natural guy now. I think the music is that matters. And I love the album very much. IMO he looks so good and young and healthy.

Anon 6:27 AM: If you want to hear and see a video about making of Trespassing, there is a new excellent Japanese vid. I just don't have the link.

And I must say: I think this interview was great (not the rape-part) and there will be numerous others in the near future. So relax, people! Adam is gay and that's it. He's honest and does not hide it or his love. And this is all good. I suppose that it will be always the issue in some interviews.

Anonymous said...

2:27 -- Brilliant!

Sick of the gay talk over-shadowing the music talk? Me, too. But this was not a Lyndsey Parker interview. Adam knew what it would entail. People are more open and inquisitive these days to listening and trying to understand. This type of show answers -- and demystifies -- while entertaining. Why not promote Adam's personality as well as his voice? It plays a big factor in why we love him so much.

Chelsea loves Adam and he also thinks she's great - a lot of her guest comics are gay - and she's just so funny. Great exposure for Adam - he's a star, just like his t-shirt.

Anonymous said...

yes to comment above. Many of Chelsea's panel guests are gay... and they are quite racy in their banter. It is indeed the nature of her show. Adam was, I'd bet house on it, quite well aware of how this interview would play out.

As others have said, it actually gave him the great opportunity to reply:

I'm also the human guy who sings

We're pretty vanilla, there's no rape

etc.

Adam believes in POST-gay world... aka - ho hum, I'm gay, ho hum, next...

I actually think this interview went the way of that notion

and quite frankly, if it helped him roll out the new album with Chelsea's viewership, IT'S A WIN!

Context is everything

Anonymous said...

glitzlady, Once again, you read my mind and wrote it down word for word! Chelsea is a comedienne, not a serious interviewer. She actually is a perfect person to banter with Adam. He likes to be bawdy and off-color, too, sometimes. This interview was meant to be silly and light and edgy.

ADAM HANDLES EVERYTHING SO WELL. He takes a potentially awkwward moment and makes it work. He answers promptly and smartly with articulate and entertaining comments.

I can't believe how many topics they actually covered in so little time:

THE GAY THING--Of course, they all want to talk about it. Adam expects it and rolls with it just fine. Remember, with Adam, it's NOT just about the music. It's about the whole package of this fascinating man. His gay identity is a major component of his public persona. Let's just accept this as something he'll always be asked about.

JUICING--Fun topic, actually, and very trendy right now.

BOYFRIENDS--Personal and sweet

QUEEN GIGS--Major promo moment for Adam, esp. to viewers who were not aware of it as we are. Gives him cred.

NEW ALBUM TALK--Not a lot, but enough to let Adam mention the universality of the new music.

All in all, this brief interview covered lots of ground about Adam, past and present. I thought it was great! One thing that I have noticed is that Adam, being a talker, does not let the interviewer just dominiate the concersation. He's right in there talking. No meek wallflower is he.

I am sorry Adam went on Chelsea's show again. The first time he was on she couldn't get past the gay thing. This time her opening comment was about his gayness, and then she proceeded to continue with that theme for over 50% of the interview. Is she THAT lazy that she can't actually come up with a new angle? There are so many layers to Adam's personality; yet, she can't get past his sexual identity. Let him be an amazing vocalist and make amazing music. Why not talk about those other aspects of personality. Does she talk with John Mayer about his heterosexuality during half an interview?

well to be honest, Chelsea is a little lazy with her research/prep, but she'd readily admit that and say: Duh peeps. Adam knew exactly what he was going to get with her, and honestly, probably really digs here and the bawdy demeanor. I agree with others here who have said there was actually a lot of info that got covered. This wasn't that short of a sement, AT ALL, pretty lengthy actually, as these things go.

Anonymous said...

Chelsea is a comedienne who is ALWAYS bawdy, sexual, irreverant. Adam knows this, of course. He's seen her show and been on it before. He knew what she would be like and was ready for it. Did a great job, too.

What's all this Russian, Polish fans stuff? Huh?j Sorry to hear about what?

ADAM is absolutely very sharp and quick witted. I just cannot count the things I like about this boy. This was another great interview. With Obama's pronouncement, sure the gay would be a topic, more so with Chelsea who definitely likes ADAM. Though short, it covered important topics and I am in awe of the banter between them even the rape, to which ADAM's quick retort, "It's vanilla" just amazes me. I salute to this almost perfect creature that is called ADAM LAMBERT!

As always he was excellent I admire the way Adam handles everything.. I adore him and I ador his music.

Someone here misinterpreted the RUSSIAN/POLISH comment.

If you do not have access to this video, or failed to understand it, this is what was said:

Chelsea asked Adam where he was doing the Queen shows. Adam answered, "There's two in London and two in Eastern Europe....one in Poland and one in Kiev." Chelsea broke in with a sarcastic, "Oh, good luck with those." Adam completely missed her sardonic tone and continued on excitedly, "Yeah and one of those is with Elton John!" So Adam is VERY enthusiastic and happy about playing the Eastern European shows.
Hope this clears thing up. :)

Oh, I have no illusions when it comes to Chelsea Handler. She thinks it's cool to call people on her panel gay...as in some kind of insult. She also thinks it is comedy to make fun of Asians, Mexicans, etc. The usual theme of the first part of her show is body functions of some sort. As I said, I am sorry that Adam went on her show. Adam Lambert Discusses Gay Rights Anthem “Outlaws Of Love”

.

... .

photo: RCA RecordsAdam Lambert's sexual orientation has unfortunately been a focus of media scrutiny ever since he appeared on "American Idol" three years ago, and especially since he came out on the cover of Rolling Stone in June 2009. Until now, the otherwise outspoken Idol has opted not to directly address gay issues in his own music, but on a poignant new track off his excellent sophomore album Trespassing (out May 15), the gay rights anthem "Outlaws Of Love," he tackles some serious topics--on his own terms, and in his own voice. And in an age when the hot-button issue of same-sex marriage is hotter than ever, the song's message could not be better-timed.

In a recent exclusive interview with Yahoo! Music's Reality Rocks about Trespassing, Adam revealed: "When I wrote this song, I was directly referring to the sadness that I felt in taking in the adversity that the gay community faces on every level: marriage, bullying, acceptance of all kinds, our presence in the entertainment community and how that's still up and coming, politics, all of it...I definitely wrote it about my community."

In the chorus to "Outlaws Of Love," Adam earnestly sings: "Everywhere we go / I'm looking for the sun / Nowhere to grow old and always on the run / They say we'll rot in hell / But I don't think we will / They've branded us enough / Outlaws of love." It's possibly his boldest musical move yet, and one that will certainly have people talking--although, as he explained, the song is definitely open to interpretation.

"I think it's important, because there's been a lot of music in pop lately that's been kind of uplifting, inspirational messages saying, 'It's okay to be different, you can do it!' And I think that's really important, and I have a couple of those too--but this is a song that's like, 'F***, it sucks sometimes!' Sometimes this sucks, and it makes me sad," Adam explained. "And that's the reality of it. I think my last album was all about escapism, for the most part, and this album's more about reflecting on the human condition. So sometimes, it's sad."

Anonymous said...

I felt very sad and angry through most of this interview. I don't know how Adam remained so cool and kept himself in the best light throughout this interview with this obnoxious, assinine woman. He amazes me and I hope he never goes on that show with her again. She needs him much more than he needs her. She obviously has no care for him.

glitzylady said...

@Anon 3:52 PM

In answer to your question: Yes, he is a "big star" in Finland. He is famous in his own right. This from Wikipedia:

"Sauli Koskinen (born March 28, 1985) is a Finnish reality-television star, radio personality and entertainment reporter from Hyvinkää, Finland.
He first rose to fame as the winner of the Finnish Big Brother 2007 reality-television series.

Big Brother:
Koskinen was the winner of Big Brother 2007, beating out nineteen other contestants in a public vote over a fourteen-week period. Before applying for the show, Koskinen worked as a clerk in a Helsinki clothing store. [Note: He also worked for his father in his large construction business ..] Mikko Räisänen, the casting director for Big Brother, has said that the decision to put Koskinen in the Big Brother house was made within the first two minutes of his casting interview, crediting Koskinen's positivity, likability and openness.

Post Big Brother:
In 2008, fans petitioned to have Koskinen and fellow Big Brother contestant Niko Nousiainen make a return to television. The campaign resulted in the brief television show Sauli and Niko’s Best Clips, in which Koskinen and Nousiainen provided commentary on viral videos. Shortly thereafter, Koskinen was hired as a web-based entertainment reporter for the Finnish tabloid Ilta-Sanomat, where he provided commentary on entertainment news in weekly videos with co-host Katri Utula. In 2011, Koskinen and Utula traveled to the United States to produce a special version of their weekly web series entitled Tutka Roadshow.
As of June 2011, Koskinen continued to work for Ilta-Sanomat and was additionally hired as a U.S.-based call-in entertainment reporter for the Finnish radio station Radio Aalto.

Personal life:
Koskinen is in a relationship with American singer Adam Lambert. They live together in Hollywood, and celebrated their one-year anniversary November 5, 2011."

Note***Because of the VISA process, my understanding is that he cannot work for an employer that is headquartered in the US. His current employer is in Finland.

Sauli is muy bueno I'd like to see 7 pages of photos of him and no necessity to even mention Adam.
