MERRY AS A LAMB
The ever-flamboyant Adam Lambert chats to OK! while in OZ
Adam Lambert has come a long way since he first stepped out onto that American Idol stage three years ago. Now, with his second album, Trespassing, hitting stores, the singer’s in a reflective mood about his journey so far.
What’s been the key to finding success after appearing on a reality show?
I’ve never been somebody that’s ever really satisfied, which is a blessing and a curse but, as an artist, it’s a motivating force.
How have you become comfortable with fame?
It took a second to adjust. Strangers knowing who you are is a weird feeling. But it’s also flattering.
You have some crazy fans…
They are crazy, but it’s all coming from a place of love.
(something) Most about
Performance. but I also really enjoy he studio process especially with this album because I got to take the time to do it.
You worked with Sam Sparro on this album - how do you know him?
We worked together on my last album, and I’m a big fan. We wrote two songs on this new album that I really believe in.
Your album has a big party vibe to it, do you like to party?
I love a good party. Lately I find myself working a lot and trying to stay focused. Plus, when you’re traveling, a lot of partying isn’t going to agree with that type of schedule, so there’s a time and a place.
Would you be interested in being a judge or mentor on a talent show?
I would love that; it’d be fun. I’d be honest, but I’d try to be nice about it.
Can we expect an Australian tour from you soon?
I hope so. I hope to put a tour together for this album.
Trespassing is in stores now.

Adam, if we could make it happen we would...we could quit squabbling long enough and wish it into being!...<3...JAK
it looks like a good article I like the OK! magazine in the states too. I just read on twitter Adam will also be in the September 7th issue of EW. I will have to pick that up, hope it is something nice.
@JAK
I so agree with you, but there are many who visit this site simply to squabble, quibble and snarl.
There are a few trolls, no doubt, but anonymity produces some interesting candour as well. All in all, a very interesting place.
I like this interview. Very telling about what motivates him.
I've read several comments from Adam where he says that he"hopes" to put a tour together for Trespassing. What are the factors that determine whether or not an artist will tour? I guess the key element is financial. You must spend money for a tour in order to bring in the ticket buyers at a concert. Does that mean if Trespassing sales don't pick up that there will not be a tour? It seems Adam has been doing a lot of these mini promo tours across the country and even internationally .
What are the latest numbers on his album sales? It is such a great album and yet we hear garbage on the radio or horrible videos promoting the song by performers who lack the stage presence and voice of Adam Lambert.
Yep, it's money. Everybody has to be paid. If Trespassing gets a Grammy nom, that would certainly help. The sales of TP have plateaued for sure, although internationally, he sells better. Those trips to Japan and Australia gave it a boost. The the Queen shows helped, too. I don't think he'll fill mega-arenas, though, although he certainly should, if talent were the biggest criteria. Hope there's more Queenbert in the future.
This was a good article!

Hey, forgot: good news about EW having something about Adam in Sept. It's been a while since they've covered him. Hope it's more than just one of those tiny blurbs.

Well... EW is often SNARKY about Adam... and the comments section of EW is traditionally and historically brutal (in a bad way) to many artists, especially Adam... I'd be just as good with him not being in the online component of EW
I also don't believe that at this time Adam will fill mega arenas although he should. I think he is more suited for the smaller venues probably along the lines of his GNT audiences. If talent were the only criteria, he should be filling stadiums. Adam Lambert is an acquired taste and hopefully as more people see him or listen to him perform, they will learn what we as his loyal fans have known from day one. He is the best vocal talent in the music business today and in a league of his own. There is just no one out there like him in regard to intelligence, confidence, personality, candidness and style. Adam is consistently underappreciated and isn't afraid to express himself through his music and his fashion.
We have to remember ADAM has been on the scene only for 3 years and within that period it's been a success without comparing him to the top charters.
His time will come because he is pure talent and beauty in every way.
He will get there for sure as there's tomorrow.
Many of us have said that we'd rather see Adam rise slowly and steadily, and have longevity, than have him zoom up and crash down. It's frustrating, though, when some others do emerge suddenly from nowhere and zoom to the top quickly and stay there a while. We have no choice but to keep suporting him, keeping him high in the polls and stuff, and just make sure he stays in the public eye in a good way. Fans in other countries are helping, too. He's too good to just "fade away." He knows people in the business who admire and respect him. He'll be around for a long time, regardless of how.
