if he is starting to fill in dates now it doesn't look good for Idol. Don't they travel around in Sept and October? Good news about the fair though!!! More bad news for Idol. boo hoo

These promo concerts have been scheduled for months. Trust me, he's not sitting around putting all his eggs in one basket..he's BEYOND that. #yourallsogullable

why is superstar adam lambert playing at a fair? I guess the economic is really bad.

FRom everything I have read, it doesn't seem as if Adam will be a judge on Idol. What a shame! Now it seems to be all about the judges and some of the outrageous salaries they will receive. Shouldn't the show focus on the contestants and helping them get started in their music careers? Although from some of the stories I have seen recently, some of the Idol winners and other contestants are being dropped by their record labels and you really don't hear much about the winners of the Voice or the X Factor from last season. The judges get allthe publicity and money, while the contestants and winners seem to flounder trying to establish themselves as performers. Maybe all these shows cancel each other out trying to one up each other. Right now I do like the Voice and will probably stick with that. Enrique and NM on Idol don't interest me at all...not much substance from either one.

Adam has performed at other fairs as he did the promos for Trespassing ever since it was released. I guess the larger venues are not there for him esp. since he doesn't have a tour put together yet for the new cd. I'm sure the economy is part of the issue and these smaller venues do attract all ages and a varied audience. He's done promos for radio stations in studio and performed at smaller clubs also. It's all good as long as people are listening to Adam's music.

10:58 AM...Adam is so down to earth and hey... money isn`t everything...He enjoys putting out his magnificent music to everybody...he`s a celebrity like no one else...has genuine respect for all his fans:)

We must remember that Idol is all about TV and its rateings. That is why Idol did so well during Adam's season. "Adam makes good TV". Although it is a singing competition, TV ratings come first.

I just may be able to go to this!!! woots. Wish me luck. I love album promotion time.

They are promoting Adam as a new up and coming star, like they should have with FYE. That is why all the fairs and festicals. More exposure to new fans. Not everyone has heard of Adam or know his music. His GNT didn't bring him new fans. he should have been opening for a famous act. NO I am not a troll. I have followed him since day one of idol. He should have never been on the AMA's that totally ruined it for him. The AMA's is for stars not someone just starting and especially not to close the show.

Hey, come on! Re "smaller venues..": State Fairs can be a very big deal! He did the Puyallup Fair (Washington State Fair) in Sept 2010 and that venue seats 10,000 people. It was one of his largest venues for his Glam Nation Tour. His GNT venues averaged around 1,500 to 2,000 seats/GA. So State Fairs: not so "small"! Guessing the venue in Arizona is pretty sizable too! And State Fair venues open up the audience demographic for him. Plus major exposure and publicity. I think its fantastic that he's doing some shows in spite of not having a tour put together yet. His Orange County Fair (Costa Mesa, CA) show in July was excellent and tour-ready IMO, having been in the audience and seeing and hearing Adam and company first hand. Wish I was going to the Arizona Fair! I have friends who are..and I'm so jealous, not not in the cards for me this time : (((((

By the way, re Idol: Its not over 'til its over : ))))

Lots of big acts play the fairs. It's not an insult to play at a fair. They attract big crowds. Adam may pick up some fans at this show.

AI is a TV show that wants big ratings. That's its first priority. The contestants are always way down the list of priorities. That's a fact. I am not interested in Idol or any of the other singing competition shows. Yes, I agree that these shows seem to cancel each other out. It becomes very diluted. And yes, we don't hear about any of the recent winners or finalists from any of these shows. Adam is actually one of the most successful of any of them. I think he has a future in show business, even beyond singing. He just has something special. Honestly, the singing shows make me cringe. Of course, I'd watch Idol if Adam was on, but I really have no interest beyond that.

@Glitzlady agree Adam can acquire many new fans through these big fairs. I second the it's not over till it's over for idol. Until we hear officially from idol I still am hanging on to some hope for Adam. If he doesn't get it he will still be fine.

Totally agree with anon 10:58AM
Nothing about the past winners from 2011 winners of Idols, Voice, etc...........Only on the Fat Checks the celebrity judges are getting, ya, WTF!
Media prefers GOSSIPS & DOWNFALLs than Someone's success & TALENT such as Adam Lambert!!!
Sick Society here!

Adam is better off without AI. He's an amazing Singer as much as we want to see him on our TV screen. If AI happens for for him, Great, & if not
Adam is meant for Bigger things to come!

Yay! Adam Sang! & Tresspassing will be #ONE!!!
Congrats to Adam!!!

@glitzylady and 12:06

I'm with both of you.
Anything for ADAM to be seen and heard.
And yes, Idol is not over till AI officially announces it.
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed in prayers.

Hey Guys, please keep voting for Adam he needs our help! Madonna has gained a lot of ground, Adam is now only 1 point ahead. Please try to vote as many times as you can for the Grammy nomination.

I agree that AI ain't over till its over. Enrique has said no twice before tho not idol. I am praying he says no again.

I think I must have voted 200 or more times in the Grammy poll. I DONT want MAD DONNA ahead of our boy. Glad he's pulled ahead.

Oops I forgot to mention Vickie Martinez from THE Voice sang at Summerthing tho she was one of the finalists. She also had another of the finalists sing a song with her. They were first of four bands and she was really quite good.

I am beginning to see that these shows are more about the celebs these days because the winners sure don't seem to be promoted even though some I don't care for ie Taylor Hicks; P2 etc etc.

I was at the California State Fair and Scotty McCreary happened to be performing. I would say that venue only heald no more than 5k.

The Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, Cal. where Adam performed in July holds 8500 people. Not too shabby! Will always remember fondly the Puyallup Fair in Washinton since that's where I met - @PRS @lmb @glitzlady and @adamfix (the 24/7 sign carrier for those around here back in the GNT summer). I love it when Adam performs with other performers since it opens him up to NEW fans!!!! @daydreamin - really like Vicki Martinez. Thought of you last nite at my Air Supply concert wondering if you like them. Know you like Creedence and Loverboy as I do. . . . Adamluv

This show has been booked for at least a couple of months. Not sure why its being posted here just now. Maybe the tickets are only just going on sale.

And as everyone says, these fairs are a good oppertunity to reach new fans, rather than just Adam fans..

It's probably true that Adam isn't making the "big bucks" right now but he is able to pay his bills, have fun, buy those stylish clothes and live comfortably in a house he is renting. But he will eventually get to superstar status. These state fairs do draw large crowds and their shows bring in all ages of potential Adam Lambert fans. He probably has a number of things on his schedule for the rest of this year esp. promoting the Trespassing cd and his new single release. If he is not on the Idol panel as a judge, it is their loss and for those of us at home who have watched the show. It seems to me it will be about salaries, egos, hair and cleavage if Mariah and Minage are the two females on the panel. Aslong as Adam continues to perform at any of the venues where an audience can see and hear him, it's all good for him and his career.

Tickets for Adam's show at the Az. State Fair go on sale September 15th. General admission to show free with fair admission, reserved seats are $20.00. There is no opening act.Sounds cool to me.

It makes sense to do state fairs. You get a diverse crowd and ultimately new fans. The amusement parks and fairs are going to reach younger viewers and I totally support Adam reaching out in this way. Lucky Arizona.

Agree with some of you posters that say these Fairs can have huge crowds and most probably contain many many people who would otherwise not buy a ticket to an AML show - therein lies the beauty of doing these sorts of shows for sure!! Adam's "base" is solidified, it's all about new fans, an hopefully a 16ish to 30ish fanbase increase (relax peeps, I'm late 40's, I just realize the needs for Adam's sales to flourish, no ageism here). Even a brand new Adam Lambert Trespassing Tour may not necessarily garner NEW fans, but these fairs and venues where he is on the bill with varying artists, and where, by nature of the draw for attendees for the OTHER activities, people who are not otherwise likely to see Adam, I believe these shows are excellent. I am a big fan of Matt Nathanson, he's hardly a house hold name, artists gotta work it, wherever they can whenever they can, Adam knows it, smart dude.
