So happy for this honor for Adam! He is definately making his mark on positive change in the world.
Haven't seen an annoucement for the Best Artist Award. Adam is nominated for that category, too, 1right? This is a VERY pricey event! Can't wait to see what Adam will be wearing.

tea@12:46 ZOWZAAA!!!!!!!! - Thanks for this revealing pic - I've never seen it before - but I can only find the small web pic - would love a slightly bigger image if anyone can find it.

All it takes is one person to make a difference and to inspire others to change the status quo or their way of thinking. It is wonderful that Adam is receiving an award at this dinner. He should be very proud of this honor as should his parents. Adam is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in and to speak out about it.

More info at the previous post link:

Pittsburgh, PA—The Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh is pleased to announce that Grammy® nominee Adam Lambert will be the featured entertainer at its “Pride in the Street” event on Saturday, June 15. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, April 5 at 10 am.
Lambert will perform a 90-minute show with a full band and dancers on the outdoor stage at Liberty Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh between 9th and 10th streets. Last year’s event drew a record 6,800 attendees with headliner Melissa Etheridge.
Citing influence from various artists and genres, Lambert has a flamboyant, theatrical and androgynous performance style, and a powerful voice with multi-octave range. He has received numerous awards and nominations, including a Grammy Award nomination for “Best Male Pop Vocal Performance” in 2011.

Adam is someone to be proud of. Article talks about his fierceness, which is richly deserved. Can't think of any other gay person who so proudly defines who they are. The Dark Side

Love this by Cassandra Rose, the writer from the below article:

"Perpetually sparkling big-hearted singer Adam Lambert will be honored with this year’s Davidson/Valentini Award at the GLAAD Media Awards in May."

Yes I read that article and a couple more. Seems all the worries for Adam career are needless. Yes it seems he continues to be one of the worlds best saleing pop stars! America will eventually catch up. Adam sales are good, so lets leave his career to him and his management and record comp. think things will be much better now without 19 taking so many profits and hendering good decisions. Sue

@1:14 don't think the best artist award has been announced yet,but so happy Adam is receiving this award. Hopefully he gets the best artist award also!

I believe the outstanding artist award one is the LA award show held sometimes in April! There are four different award shows, for Glaad , a week are so ago Anderson C. Received one in New York! Then there is one in La in April believe that is where the outstanding artist award will be given and believe one other somewhere! And of corse the San Francisco one Adam being honored at. Sue

I am soooo proud of Adam! I love GLAAD's article outlining Adam's background and his many outstanding achievements. They even mention Adam appearing on the Voice of China, the MAMA Awards, and of course performing with Queen amongst many other things!

Yes, Adam should feel validated that despite all his battles in his life so far he has remained true to himself, fighting for what he believes in, being fearless and brave and through all of this he remains humble and kind. He's a very special young man and deserving of every award he's received. <3

I've said it at least once or twice before :)) but if Adam was simply a voice or a good looking sexy guy who sings...I would think he was fine and all, but what keeps me coming back here, following almost his every move, cheering him on...going through pre-sale hell occasionally to get tickets for his concerts (LOL!!)...traveling out of my area for said concerts (because he hasn't BEEN in my area for over 2 years unfortunately), sticking with him through the highs, and occasional lows, 4 years after Idol..., etc. etc....is the fact that he is a GREAT human being. Kind, generous, compassionate, humble, good to his fans, his family, his friends,....And an inadvertent inspiration to those who NEED a little inspiration when things look bleak or difficult because of their orientation or some other obstacle. Adam just keeps on going no matter what happens. He keeps going forward when others might just give up. Sure, he isn't perfect (who is??!! or wants to be in reality: "our scars make us who we are.."), but its all part of the interesting and talented man that is Adam Lambert. I love his ability to have fun on that stage, one minute giving us all heart palpitations and the next minute he's laughing just a little bit at himself I suspect..And perhaps just a little bit at the effect he has on both men and women. And probably because he is just SO incredibly HAPPY to be up there doing what he loves to do: Sing, entertain..and making a living at it.. He just might be thinking "Look at what this self-described dorky guy can do.."..I'm just so happy for him..and for us, his fans.

JAK here......remember a short time back when we were cheering for the baby steps Adam was making towards success? Well I think we can now say he is in full stride and now we can look forward to the days when he's stomping his way to full acceptance as a music and social force in the USA as well as internationally. That's optimism from a born pessimist!!!! YAY !

glitzylady said...

@JAK
YAY from me too!

Anonymous said...

glitzy and JAK, Amen! Cute guys who can sing are a dime a dozen. But someone with Adam's depth and sheer guts to do what he does openly and without apology is not that common. The awards and recognition he gets along the way are slowly building his credibility not only as a singer but as a human being. He is the real deal and he is making a difference during a very turbulent time in the struggle for equality and justice. His name will be in the history books for sure, and not iust as a footnote.
