Watching these videos of Adam perform, just make me know why I loved him the first time I saw him on AI. He is an amazing vocal talent and has a mesmerizing stage presence. I looked forward each week to his performances as I look forward to any new videos of his concerts on this site. AI has been disappointing this season and I don't really care about any of the contestants the way I did when Adam was on. Even though he did not win, he brought a certain excitement to the show each week. Whoever the top 10 are now and become a part of the summer Idol tour, I don't know if people will pay to see them. Adam just set the bar so high that I compare most of the performers to him and there is no one who has even come close since season 8. It makes me wonder how some of the contestants even made it to the top 10 in their group this season. Adam is out there conquering one country at a time and doing it brilliantly.

AI used to be my favorite show when Adam was on but there's just no comparison to the talent of Adam Lambert any season since. Not to be negative about all other contestants in later seasons but IMO Adam is so superior to all others...it's amazing.

The first male contestant who sang Stay caught my attention ( and my daughter's who heard his voice over the phone while we talked). I said OMG a contestant is covering Stay! The amazing thing is my daughter rarely says complimentary things about Adam but this time...she said, "nice song but not nearly as good as Adam sings it". Oh yeah, she's 100% right about that!

Finally thought I would watch AI because it's getting down to the final 10 . . . . . first song I hear is "Stay" After Adam there is just nothing . .I am so spoiled with Adam's vocals it hurts to listen to other singers . . maybe I'll watch the finals or I will watch if Adam makes a appearance.

The emotion Adam brings to "Stay" cannot be touched by anyone. That's what makes the song, otherwise, it's kind of one note - except when Adam sings it! Only he can go up,up to the highest register where only the angels can go. That's what makes the song so very special - ADAM!

I tried to watch Idol again last night but honestly the show is boring and there is no one on it who has any kind of distinctive voice. When the judges rave about the contestants it feels so wrong and the standing ovations? I can't see any stars in the bunch. Angela Miller has a beautiful voice but is she better than Jessica Sanchez? And where is Jessica now? The only season that I liked after Adam's was the one when Scotty won even though I think someone else should have been the winner. At least there was some real talent that year.

I was also watching Idol last night...I was watching in the bedroom and I thought that my husband was asleep...During a commerical I went to my recordings and statrted listening to Adam sing Change Is Gonna Come...My husband said now that kid can sing(he wasn't looking had his head covered up)...those others were awful but he's amazing...I said thats Adam silly it's a recording...(can't believe he didn't remember he'd heard it a million times)...he said ..oh there for a minute I thought they'd found someone else that could really sing...guess nobody else sings like that...how true our Adam is truely one of a kind...rose petal

Every time I hear the phrase "Adam set the bar so high" I want to scream. We know, we know, we've heard it a thousand times at least.
Give it a rest.

I saw a clip of Jessica Sanchez and Colton Dixon singing in I think it was the Phillipines for a concert. She is suppose to have a CD coming out and Colton has one that is Christian music. They didn't sound that great but i think Jessica had some voice issues. It was kind of boring. Adam is the only person I follow and his voice takes me to a different place, not sure where yet lol. The emotion and joy he puts into his live performances just is so beautiful! No other live performer like him and his versatility with songs!

Wow I love Cuckoo. That should have been a single instead of BTIKM or NCOE, so much fun and very catchy!

Sorry for the double post, I must have gone cuckoo or my computer did!

I actually thought that kid singing "Stay" did a pretty good job. IMO No comparison to Adam's version however! The Naples kid (whose lives down the street from me) who sang "feeling good" did pretty good also, but again IMO cannot match Adam's version. I actually like this season on idol, but Adam will always be in a league of his own!

Sorry 8.11 but the truth is the truth, no matter how many times you hear it. The judges this year are awful and the talent, some pretty good but nothing special or fresh. I see no it factor in no one and no creativity like Adam Lambert brought to the table three years ago. There really has been no one with that kind of light up the room stage dynamic's such as Adam had. Just taped for curiosity, go over real quick not even doing that anymore it so boring!

I am not disputing the fact just the incessant use of same phrase over and over. How about "he's a hard act to follow"? Or He has an incomparable voice or "he's top notch" or He'll be hard to beat"? anything but the damn bar!
He is after all not a pole vaulter or high jumper or horse!

10:12 wow I didn't realize that phrase could be so deep to some. I have been coming here since day one and never heard it used incessantly.I don't plan not to say he set the bar to high anytime soon.Sorry you don't run the show here.

I think you mean too high.

I doubt Paula realized she would be quoted incessantly, which she is.
