Whoa Adam was actually addressing the Chinese Idol contestants who looked longingly to have the kind of success Adam has achieved. They do look anxious and Adam would be just the right mentor for them, if only he spoke Mandarin; because he is good at calming nerves having been through so much brimstone and fire and gnashing of teeth himself. He could certainly steer them in the direction of singing techniques. See how he lifted Angie, like the wind beneath her wings for her to soar. Adam said he was very impressed by the Chinese singing/voice talents. Adam is the anchorman for AI in China and that indirectly keeps AI, sinkable no more. lol! Mad World suits China in the sense it's so complex and dense in population and that's why they can identify closely with the song; now they even have English/Chinese translation of the song on screen. I think Adam perfected in pushing out that Mad World last note, which had less drive but still very pure, on AI; nonetheless earning him the only standing ovation of S8.

Lam-my, very well put. Such a dreamy Mad World here. Like honey poured in my ears. God, I love when he sings with this gorgeous voice. I know he can do many voices, but I want a whole album of this kind of ear candy!

And what he said so kindly and eloquently here to the AI contestants just reinforces my heart-felt belief that he would be a fantastic American Idol judge.

Thanks! Yea you've stated a very good point and that crossed my mind as well. Adam sings and sounds best when he sings in this slightly melancholy style because it allows us to savour his voice gently. His next album should include a number of, as you say "this kind of ear candy!"

I remember when adam was on AI season 8, he helped a lot with the contestants too. And he was told/reminded he's in a competition himself:(:)
