Robin Thicke currently has the #1 song in the country with "Blurred Lines". Robin had said in 2010 that he likes Adam Lambert.

"I love Adam Lambert — he’s great, man, and really exciting." -Adam Lambert.

Refreshing to see another artist respond to Adam's supportive tweet. Robin has been a fan of Adam's. Adam likes to let people know what music he enjoys. That is great for them mutually. Appreciate when people respond to Adam's generosity when so many simply do not. TY Robin.

I agree! I love his song "Blurred lines"! I'm totally addicted.

I JUST watched the uncencored "Blurred Lines" video after reading how much shit Robin Thicke was getting over it. Apparently he was totally taken by surprise by the response. The negative comments go on and on. Okay, with a few positive ones sprinkled here and there. I can see why he was a bit freaked out. The video seemed like sexy, harmless fun (that we've seen before) set to a very dancy tune. I didn't see what the fuss was about.

It has MILLIONS of hits (can't remember the number now, darn it) and, as was said, it is the number one song in the country, so, no sweat, Robin. All artist have to take the bad with the good.

Sweet that he gave Adam a well deserved shout-out.

For me the lyrics of "Blurred Lines" are disgusting. Not funny!

Blurred Lines - derogatory to women!

Just read that JLo was turned down by The Voice after angling for a judging spot.
Kris and Katy Allen's new baby is named Oliver Neil.

Anonymous said...

So Robin publicly thanked Adam. Good enough for the complainers?

Anonymous said...

24/7 Site Admin: The line where Robin Thicke praises Adam -- you credited that to Adam instead of Robin! LOL

Anonymous said...

Robin was thanking everyone who tweeted about his music.

Get back to me when he is listening to Adams music and tweeting for people to listen to it. See the difference?

Oh well, but adapted to Adam's world and orientation I think these lyrics are pretty hot and it is no wonder that Adam likes them so much :):)!!!

Go read and listen!

Blurred Lines
Go Stupid 4 U
Feel Good
Ooo La La
4 The Rest Of My Life

Anonymous said...

@2.35 AM I don't find these lines to do anything with orientation

"I'll give you something big enough to tear your ass in two
Swag on, even when you dress casual
I mean it's almost unbearable
Then, honey you're not there when I'm
With my foresight bitch you pay me by
Nothing like your last guy, he too square for you
He don't smack that ass and pull your hair like that
So I just watch and wait for you to salute
But you didn't pick
Not many women can refuse this pimpin'."

Sorry Adam, you've spoiled me sooo good with your VOICE (both singing and speaking) that very few artists can make an instant impression on me.
And this Thicke dude just looks and sounds like another Justin T... this is #1?!??
Sorry, does nothing for me, but I always like to follow your music musings and listen to everything at least once.

Not a fan of the song and can't fathom its popularity but it was nice of Robin Thicke to give a shout-out to Adam.

Robin's song has millions and millions and millions of hits on YT..go figure..Adam does not even come close even tho he has a spectacular voice and his songs are superb..it just makes me so mad...btw..one of the reasons Robin is doing so well is because of the controversial nature of this song..Adam does something controversial and it nearly derails his career..life just is not fair..

Anonymous said...

This sounds like a song about rape.

Anonymous said...

The first time I heard it I thought - another song degrading women. Why are women okay with this?

A point was made on TV this morning that though we have many men in powerful positions (politicians) who have been caught in sex scandals - we've never had a woman in power messed up in a sex scandal.

Yet, some women let themselves be used as an object. I don't care if the song has a catchy tune, it's insulting.

I always liked Robin Thicke. Unlike other "stars" he always seemed very humble and appreciated his success.
Great that he supports Adam. It is great that Adam is always giving other artists praise, but I am not very pleased when they don't respond to Adam in kind. However, goodness is it's own reward. Adam is finding all kinds of success now so as they say, what goes around comes around.

a verse to Lay Me Down ( just pimping our guy)

I know lots of teens that love the Blurred Lines song, but I don't think kids listen too much to the lyrics like we do. I personally don't like the lyrics and Robin sounds like Justin Timberlake. Just know that Avicii's song Wake Me Up is topping the charts all over U.K. and Europe over Blurred Lines. fingers crossed that Lay Me Down will be a single an do the same for Avicii and Adam and Nile!

This is a sexy time sexy song. That's why it grabbed younger crowds attention. Instant hit. I personally love this song. It's very catchy. Sound wise is like Kickin' In because of Pharell involvement.

He sorked sith a lot of mega artists and with JHud and Idol winner from Australia. It would be nice if he works on Adam's next album.

Anonymous said...

I think if Adam did a song with naked women, it would have millions and millions of hits also. Just sayin.

Anonymous said...

oh yeah..if Adam did a song with naked WOMEN..it would prob get a trillion hits!!!! LOL

Anonymous said...

Blurred Lines is currently only #1 on the U.S. iTunes chart. Wake Me Up by Avicii is #1 in most other countries but Blurred Lines was #1 for a long time. Not crazy about either of these songs.

Retweetet von Interscope Records

Hello record company! Are you trying to say something? Collaboration maybe? Record deal maybe?

Anonymous said...

You know it's just some lowly interns job to run the interscope twitter account right?

Anonymous said...

And you know they never retweeted Adam's tweet until now!?

Anonymous said...

like robin thick-but he dont have adam lambert voice- ill stick to adma lambert.

Anonymous said...

Lol they are promoting robins album and they just took the tweet from robins feed. If you think this means adam has a record deal with interscope I would say that is hilarious. Even if it was true this tweeter wouldn't know it.

Listening to the album "Blurred Lines" on Spotify right now.... Lots of dance music, and the remainder more R&B, which is more typical of Robin Thicke music. Like parts of it, a few not so much.. Whether you like RT or not, there's some good music here...I've had the single "Blurred Lines" on my iPod for awhile now.

For those that are interested, here's a Billboard track by track review of the album. If you want to listen to all tracks, in their entirety, you can click on any of the tracks and that will take you to Spotify.

The first two paragraphs of the overview of the album:

"Long a staple in the R&B world, Robin Thicke entered 2013 as an artist on the outer reaches of the pop landscape. While he wasn't entirely unknown to pop fans, considering he's had four singles crack the Hot 100, all to often he was known, rather condescendingly, as a poor man's Justin Timberlake. But while Timberlake rolled out his "20/20 Experience" comeback, Thicke kept a low profile and introduced a new single, "Blurred Lines," without the promotional assist of his label.

After its release on March 20, the words "low profile" would never describe Thicke's "Blurred Lines" again. First, it gained viral status, from its controversial, boob-laden music video and key synchs like a spot in a television commercial for Beats By Dre's Pill, which aired heavily during the NBA playoffs. Its status became legitimate when it hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 on June 12 and hasn't fallen since. Thicke has since shared two additional songs from his forthcoming album: "For The Rest Of My Life," an R&B cut much closer to his trademark sound and the EDM-heavy "Give It 2 U," which strays even further from his roots than "Blurred Lines." ".............

The "latest" article on the rumored Idol panel configuration: (No Adam Lambert mention...):

Excerpts for those interested:

"Fox's "American Idol" is going back to its safe place – or at least it's trying."

"Two months after TheWrap broke the story that Fox was looking to completely revamp the judging panel on its declining singing competition, insiders tell TheWrap that indecision among the newly appointed executive producers have caused plans to shift several times."

"Former judge Jennifer Lopez is in negotiations to return to the Fox singing competition, an individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap....
Formerly, Lopez made about $15 million a season for the gig, but those kind of numbers don't work for the current climate at "Idol," which has been shedding viewers for several seasons now...If producers can come to an agreement with Lopez, then Jennifer Hudson is most likely out."

"Hudson made sense back in May when the goal was to put together an all-alumni panel. According to the "Idol" insider, that plan fell away after producers failed to sign Kelly Clarkson."

"One "Idol" insider said that producers are still leaning toward a three-person panel and their preference is one female and two males. If they can come to agreement on salary, Lopez will return and Hudson will likely be let go. Keith Urban is set to return for the second spot and technologist-singer will.i.am, who's currently in negotiations, is the top contender for the last spot."

"The ongoing indecision stems from the differing views of the quartet of new producers -- Simon Fuller of 19 Entertainment and his new producers Jesse Ignjatovic and Evan Prager, former Swedish "Idol" producer Per Blankens for FremantleMedia and Fox's David Hill."

"Apparently Fremantle's Swedish producer wants the show to go with the biggest possible talent, while Fox is more interested in a balanced panel than in spending diva dollars."

"Of course, it's entirely possible that the plan will shift again before the panel is set."

No kidding....... :))

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/american-idol-faces-judges-decision-inside-j-lo-161216094.html

If producers can come to an agreement with Lopez, then Jennifer Hudson is most likely out. The Season 3 alum had struck a deal with the producers to join the panel for somewhere between $4-$5.5 million, but her contract was never finalized and remains open.

Hudson made sense back in May when the goal was to put together an all-alumni panel. According to the "Idol" insider, that plan fell away after producers failed to sign Kelly Clarkson.

One "Idol" insider said that producers are still leaning toward a three-person panel and their preference is one female and two males. If they can come to agreement on salary, Lopez will return and Hudson will likely be let go. Keith Urban is set to return for the second spot and technologist-singer will.i.am, who's currently in negotiations, is the top contender for the last spot.

@glitzylady - Re your post @10:04

I was so surprised to read the words 'poor man's Justin Timberlake' in that Billboard track review... In my earlier comment @3:21 today I said that R. Thicke looks and sounds like Justin T... Meant no disrespect towards R. Thicke, today truly was my first time listening to this song and watching his video (don't follow the charts), before today I did not even know what the man looks like, so my comment about him looking (body language, gestures, movement, postures, facial expressions) and sounding (vibe, sound, Pharell etc) like JT was genuine gut feeling from seeing the vid Blurred Lines for the first time. Have not read anything about him before nor heard his voice before. Just wanted to share this tid bit of my first encounter w Mr. Thicke and his music, lol.

Thank YOU for all your posts in this thread (as well as in general) - you're a true trooper in AL fandom!

OMG I hate this if JLo is AI judge again. Season 10 & 11 was all about her. She hated the girls. She pimped herself all the time. I was hoping for Adam, Katy, Keith, & Pharrell.

Anonymous said...

That planned panel will not bring in new rating's in fact ratings most likely will dive even lower. Hope they have real exciting changes, because this trio not gonna do anything for the show, probably last year for it.WIM was no good on the voice from what I heard. No Adam no watch, Adam on the finale last year was only reason watched. KU sweet guy, not enough to pull in rating, not real good judge. Adam going on Glee that's all I care about.

Anonymous said...

so much for 'new and exciting' panel on AI..JLo and Keith are old news and I personally do not care for will.i.am...so no watch Idol for me..and I HOPE it the last season..it would serve them right for not signing Adam..they really are 'out to lunch' on what would work on the judges panel..what a bunch of nitwits..why the hell did they fire the old producers..the new ones are not a damned bit better..prob worse..I'm sick..

Anonymous said...

I am not saying that the world revolves around Adam Lambert... fine... but the panel being mentioned here will not bring in new viewership! It's fine by me if Adam doesn't get Idol gig (although a mentoring gig would be nice) but this panel will not generate new interest imho. Will.I.Am wasn't very good on other Voice imho. I don't dislike JLo but she won't bring in NEW interest or RENEWED interest imo. Keith is great but again, not gonna bring in new exploding interest imo. Just my POV

Please don't 'spread' these ENDLESS Am Idol judge panel RUMOURS & SPECULATIONS in every thread...thank you!

@Anon 3:24 PM
I posted the article from The Wrap at 10:21 AM because it seems to be credible and gives a good synopsis of the whole crazy and convoluted process since earlier this year. For those of us who still had some small hope for Idol, I found it interesting. I rarely post anything re Idol. I suspect this will happen occasionally until they finally make an official announcement. I posted selected excerpts but there is a more complete article to be found at the link. Sorry...

JLo not worth anything for ANY comments..her only talent is promoting herself and her beauty..and, as we all know, beauty fades...

why don't they just blow a couple hundred million and hire both Cher and Madonna???

Re: The Idol judges panel: just my POV: JHUD, No personality + divalike.
JLO, no talent + full of herself.
Keith Urban - just a nice guy - ends there - no charisma. W.I.Am. I.Don't.Care - blahhhh for me. Great panel: Adam, Kelly C. Katie P. Will never happen. But, I'll take Adam with anyone and will be happy. Feeling grumpy tonight and had to vent. Sorry,.........nancdruuu2

Hmm... a lot of you don't like anybody.

I wouldn't mind a panel consisting of Pharrel, Adam and a female country singer. I don't think bringing back any former judge makes sense, fresh faces are needed and chemistry between the judges is very important.

Anyway, I'm sure we will find out soon enough.

Ok, I admit it, I could never clearly hear the words to Blurred Lines and now that I know the words, they are disgusting. How the heck do professionals write this kind of crap? It's too bad, because I really love the tune. Robin Thicke was a judge on that other singing competition called DUET's. I heard it didn't make it past the first season. He doesn't have much of a voice. He just got lucky IMO.

Anonymous said...

@ daydreaming.....JAK here (I seem to be stalking you)

I agree with you on song and Thicke......I imagine we are in the minority. I don't mind naughty but I don't like dirty lyrics.
I guess everyone has a different concept of dirty.

Anonymous said...

Robin Thicke is the image of his father for sure. Don't love the song or the image and he cannot sing live. Adam's in a different league which soars above this type of stuff.

Anonymous said...

Seems like Pharrell is the genius behind the fame of Blurred Lines as he is with so many hits thesedays(including the mastermind transformation of the Miley Cyrus image). Certainly isn't the appeal of Thicke or his voice which has entralled people. The lyrics have shock value which adds to out the box madness and that's what the kids seem to like thesedays. Go figure!

Anonymous said...

Am I the only one who thinks this guy is so darn cornball! He hits in on the Sissor Sisters sound for a second and then the rest is so darn boring...catchy but boring!
Darn I miss Adam!

Anonymous said...

Rich kid Robin Thicke that had it made. His dad is in show business, and that is where he got in the door. Others have to work so hard, to get where they want to be in life like Adam Lambert. Sometimes life is not fair. But we can try to make the best shot of it. Big or small.

Anonymous said...

OMG, why do so many of you have to belittle others in your quest to raise Adam? It just makes you look small and mean. Pharell or Thicke having success does not take anything away from Adam.

daydreamin said...

@JAK I agree with you. I also don't mind naughty. Love the tune. Hate the lyrics.
