Adam rarely drives when he is out, having a few drinks, he always has a driver. He might have been calling for his taxi. It all looked pretty innocent to me.

I posted a link to these pictures on the "Glambert Wedding" thread. I made a comment about the guy with Adam. I called him a very "pretty boy". Well, some smart alec had to pipe up and comment that he was not a boy but a man. And then, they went on to ask if I were a boy or a girl. It's this kind of childishness that gets Adam's fans laughed at. I meant the term "boy" figuratively as in "male", not as in underaged child.
And, as for the record, I'm a woman. The person who responded to me so immaturely needs to examine their own behavior before calling out others.
This may sound mean, but I assumed that most of the people who posted here were adult women and perhaps a few grown men. But now, I'm starting to wonder if this site has been invaded by middle school aged children. Sorry for my tone and respond as you wish.

Beat me up, but I really miss seeing Sauli by his side and seeing the pure joy in both of their faces. Sure wish all the hints he has given were leading to the meaning of he and Sauli getting back together and trying it again. You know....the heighth of it all, the descention to the depths of a troubled relationship, yet the flame of their love burning bright and drawing them back together. Perhaps the love they share with each other in now pure love, with the outside world filtered out. I can only wish....just a crazy fantasy of mine......sorry.

It's always been, that if anyone tells Adam he should not do some thing, then he will defiantly go out and do just that. That's what happened at the AMA's He heard a nasty comment before he took to the stage, and it made him extremely angry. This might be the same thing. What did he do at the ski resort. Some one made a nasty comment about him not skating, so he did a selfie trying to look like he was skating, and muttered a nasty remark back. Believe it or not as nice as Adam is , he is human and does have a temper.

This was his first singing in a big event after Idol. As he was waiting to go on stage he heard someone , who worked for a magazine, say something about him being that gay singer from Idol, it was not a very nice comment. If you have been following Adam all the way, you would know this common piece of knowledge. You don't think Adam was angry for nothing , do you? When he rehearsed for his part, Him kissing Tommy was not part of his act.

That kiss surprised the hell out of Tommy too. Adam doesn't take kindly to being called the fa....t

@11:03, I consider myself an Adam follower and that is the first time I've heard that. Did he say that in an interview? All I've heard him say is that he was very nervous because of all the great acts that preceded him and felt pressure to do something outstanding.

Just to clarify what you are speaking about: This was the editorial that was written by the editor of OUT Magazine Aaron Hicklin that was published literally just before the AMA's 2009. It was extremely critical of Adam, and specifically referred to another magazine article and photo shoot (Details). And among other things insulted Adam and insinuated that he wasn't "gay enough". This, after Adam had done an in depth interview in OUT magazine. Adam was understandably upset by all of that, as you can imagine (he's spoken of that more than once).. and there you have it. Aaron Hicklin and Adam have since had another interview and things evened out. And Adam has had time to come to terms with his celebrity and influence. He at first said he didn't want to be a spokesperson or a role model for the LGBT community. He just wanted to sing. But in the ensuing years he has become comfortable with being just that. Particularly to LGBT youth. Things change. Adam has had some bumps along the way and has evolved as we all do.

The decision to break-up must have been hard but it was the right one.

All that glitzylady said was true, but it was my understanding that he had heard a remark about his sexuality just before going on stage, and he was also upset about GaGa's performance being so good, with the wine bottle and the piano. I don't think tripping on the step helped either, although most of us thought it was part of the act, he knew it wasn't. By that time he was furious with himself.

Unfortunately, Adam let people upset him and it really made a difference in his career. That AMA performance was detrimental to his career. He would have been huge had it not been for that display of anger. TJR said to Adam to kiss him or do whatever he wants. TJ was not surprised and he encouraged it. For that reason, Adam needs to get rid of TJ. Until he is gone, that reminder will be there forever. It also didn't help that Adam flipped everyone off at the end of his performance. One mistake can sidetrack a career for sev years and it has. Adam will hopefully recover but he could have already been the next big thing.

The part about Gaga etc., was true, of course, in that there was much craziness and excitement and overt sexuality happening on stage that night (including with Janet Jackson, Shakira, and others), and he certainly didn't want to be **boring** :)) The adrenalin was pumping overtime that night for him.

You can collect the bits and pieces what really happened backstage before the performance from Adam's and Tommy's interviews. Adam has said someone came up with the idea that he should kiss his bass player. Tommy said to Adam he could do anything he wants to him.

Oh for heavens sake. Let's not blame Tommy for anything and everything. That's ridiculous! Adam has always been the one in charge of his performances. He's the "bossman". As it should be.

The AMA's are part of Adam's history, and as much as I hate dragging that back out, sometimes it's important to be clear on the actual background & story. Tommy had nothing to do with anything that happened, other than being there. And for that matter, big deal about the kiss. I loved it. I was also stunned to see it at the time. And I knew Adam would suffer some consequences. Which he did.

And while it was a big topic of conversation then, I seriously doubt it would raise too many eyebrows now, 5 years later. We've actually come a long way since then. Same sex, along with hetero, marriages performed LIVE on stage last night at the Grammy's. How AWESOME is THAT!!!

Much progress but much more to do. Adam was trashed for kissing Tommy that night..but he's also been one of many who have helped to pave the way for love to be openly celebrated. And respected. As I said above, he's had his bumps along the way, but so do other pioneers of social reform and enlightenment.

@12:33, while I may not agree with everything in your post, I do think the choice of FYE as a first single and performing it at the AMAs was a mistake. I believe if he had chosen WWFM and performed it live, like he did on other shows later, we would be hearing Adam on the radio and seeing him on award shows right now. Bad choice and bad timing. But of course that is all water under the bridge. I'm not trying to be disrespectful either. This is just my opinion.

So many have done so much worse without any consequences; Opening number last night for one example. Gifted artist; but that would be considered racey compared to what Adam did. Look at Miley, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Janet Jackson, M&M., Robin Thick; he was a big star last night. I could go on and on. Ok they punished Adam because of many things; I hear some say because he was new. But, as Adam said; double standard. Moving on; just putting things back in perspective. It's been 5 years, is Adam going to get another chance to entertain on thiese award shows, or even present; or is he still being shutout?

Adam has said when asked; that he was not flipping everyone off; he was flipping that editor from out magazine (I think that was the person) who said "Adam wasn't gay enough. But, he has learned from his mistake; and it made a big impact on him; scared him too.

Who knows maybe this is the way things were supposed to be. He has had many good things happen to him since then also. He may not have met all the great mentors and great artists and people who truly love him.

He is still going to be a bigger star than he is now; maybe he will appreciate it more now that he is older. He has matured so beautifully. He may not have had all these wonderful fans that fought tooth and nail protecting him and supporting him during those dark times. He has said how much our support meant to him.

The future looks very bright for Adam; I have been there from the beginning; through thick and thin; and have never waivered for one minute, and I never will! Bring it on Adam; it going to be a very good year!

I think Adams coy smile says it all. He probably took this group for a walk to get a reaction, giving us a full on shot of this very pretty guy. People know Adam has a type and he probably got a Big Bang out if it. Well it certainly generated conversation, which I am sure was its intention.

One last thing about the Tommy kiss, and then I will shut up. Adam did not learn his lesson about kissing Tommy, he did it every night at GNT. He only stopped when he started going with Sauli in 2010. Nobody says no to Adam. He stopped doing it when Sauli came to live with him in 2010.

I said it so many times that I loved his AMAs performance and I'm not alone. As a matter a fact he got some fans from that performance too. The most shocking thing for me and also for Adam was cancellation of his scheduled performances. Other artists with their shock and awe award performances get tons of appearances not cancelled appearances. Oh well...it happened awhile ago. we should put it all behind. Those who are dragging AMA on this site to belittle Adam are the ones who left multiple complains. Stop it already.

Vocally not the best, understandably he was nervous and 'ticked', but INTERNATIONALLY Adam got noticed more and more, he gained fans. No regrets, nothing to apologize. Sincerly hopin US would let it go already. Your doublestandard music and entertainment business was a laughing stock back then and still is!

The discussion of the AMA's happened here because someone brought it up. And some things were said that weren't necessarily clear. Or historically correct. There was an attempt to clarify it. And give the correct info so as not to give the wrong impression to newer fans who may not be familiar with what happened.

It's part of Adam's journey. As I said in my comment at 12:50 PM, it would probably not raise nearly as many eyebrows now, here in 2014. Much progress has been made.

And please know that not all Americans are narrow minded prudes, just like not all people outside the US are open minded. That's a generalization in both cases.

Adam is a unique, fascinating, talented man. There are many in the US who DO appreciate and adore him. And there always have been. This subject will be brought up from time to time, here on 24/7 and elsewhere. And everyone will have an opinion. Just like they/we did then in Nov. 2009. The "rehashing" here in this thread was not necessarily a bad thing. Hopefully it was informative.

The bottom line is, the AMA performance was certainly **memorable**. And was a topic of discussion around the world. And frankly, it still is as times. It helped to make Adam even more famous/infamous, along with being on Idol. People still do remember it to this day. As the saying goes, it is what it is. And will always be there, lurking in the background, as part of the "legend", part of Adam's "story".. Yes, it brought Adam new fans, and it put off some as well. Even Adam has mused in retrospect that it was perhaps "too much, too soon." And yes, there was and is a double standard.

just one little thing I want to add... and fans who left because of AMA's would have ultimately left anyway imo. Adam is no Michael Buble or whoever, and I always truly felt that any fan, real fan anyway, who left Adam because of that performance would have ultimately moved on anyway. In closing, I totally agree with glitzy's "adds to the lore" comment, that is always how I have felt about it. (and btw, I LOVED it, thought it was excellent, vocal, fall, and all ;)).

This person with Adam is Karis Wilde. He is a "hooper" and very well known for his hula hoop endeavers. He is also known in the drag world. He is 32 but sure looks a decade younger. Maybe we should all start hooping! This could be a new love in Adam's life....sure fits the physical profile of his type.Could explain why Adam has been hanging in the drag world more than usual lately. Pretty man....
