This is a great piece of writing. It is another look at being gay and offers new understanding that hopefully will penetrate with those who refuse to accept the things previously heard.
This is a very heart touching reveal. Do you think the time will ever come when no one feels it's necessary to hide what's in their heart? Life is difficult for many reasons from outside sources, should it be difficult too for just being you? ........ JAK
30 years of suffering in a closet, I can't imagine.
I hope that people will take the time to click on the link in the tweet and read what Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees said.
This paragraph/excerpt speaks volumes:
"It is not news. It is not meant to be salacious. Until you know what it’s like to hide, to keep away true happiness out of fear. That’s when you truly understand what it’s like. It’s not about coming out to wave a flag in another’s face. At least it’s not for me. For me its about finding the purist of peace. The absolute settling of my soul. The clearest vision of the road I want to take."
Let us hope and live for that day when all of us human beings may feel that "purist of peace" within our souls, with who we are.. And not feel the need to hide ANY of those pieces of us, from anyone.. I like to believe that day is coming...And because of men and women like Adam, like Tyler Glenn, like Ellen Paige, like Robin Roberts, like Anderson Cooper, and so many others who have grown tired of hiding that integral part of themselves, we seem to be heading closer to that time..
Thanks to Adam ..and Tyler of course...for sharing this....
I think he meant purest.
How rude of that Glambert to write a long paragraph about Adam on Tyler's FB page.
Adam was once asked what his greatest fear was. He said, "Growing old alone." It must be a fear of many gay people who feel isolated and unable to live a open life that allows them to love and be loved without fear. I cringe when I hear a straight person say, "I don't mind people being gay. I just don't like seeing them ACT gay." It's so arrogant and dismissive of the gay people that we all live and work with every day. To have to hide yourself for a lifetime is a tragedy. To never experience love freely in all its forms is sad. It takes guts to come out. So much of the world is still so fearful and intolerant.

Courageous indeed. It takes 'guts' and grit and much much more than I could ever comprehend. Adam leads the way in strength.
