idol started the show with We Will Rock You Caleb sang it was good I still had hope that Adam would step on stage but I knew he wasn't suppose to.Caleb won he did a good job.

Well now I don't have to watch it, I am in CA, and it just started. I figured it was going to be a long show. Thanks for the heads up, although I should be mad at you, because you did spoil it for millions of people. I have a hard time watching AI any more. I don't like Caleb, but I guess someone had to win.

The AI finale was pretty dang good tonight my faves John Legend and Darius Rucker.

OT: I won't say what I thought about Kiss and Caleb singing; because so many people have not seen it. But, I have never seen them show the judges so much and their reactions and dancing at the seats while the young Idol people were doing all their different numbers; I was quite surprised. I thought Jenna did a wonderful job. She seems to have that it factor, kinda reminded me of demi L.

Now that the word is already out, is everyone happy Caleb won.
They get almost identical money prize and a nice car, and a label contract.

I am always happy no matter who wins.

I felt just the opposite from you. I did not see JL and DR; I guess I will have to go back on DVR. I still think Season 8 was the best and most organized; where all the attention was on the Idols and not on the Judges.

I thought the balloon drop in the middle of Jenna's song with the young lady from the band P. was horrible. You could not see them; only hear them. I bet she was disappointed. Anyone singing with Kiss after Adam on Idol is a big mistake. Just my opinions!

Sorry but after that Kiss performance tonight I have even more mad respect for Adam Lambert. That's my opinion I am entitled to it like others.

I was much more excited about RuPaul's Drag Race this week! Bianca won and I was satisfied even though I wanted Adore to win - she's very talented! Adam got me hooked on Drag now - who knew!..nancdruuu2

Oh my GOD; I thought it was just me; to be kind; I will just say I could not agree with you more. I am kind of glad that Adam was not on this show tonight. It almost seems like they showed the Judges more than usual like other posters have mentioned.

Simon Crowell was never the type to dance around but Paula sure did. When Adam and Queen and Kiss performed all standing ovations from the panel during season eight.

It's not very nice or mature to refer to fans as idiots! over a reality show result or anything else for that matter. Pretty sure it was not done on purpose.

I don't think that happened on the night of the finale of Season Eight; the focus was mostly on the Idols in my recollection of the evening. Definitely not like tonight. I agree with the person who said the judges were shown a bit too much.

Love how Adam is referred to as a "revelation." That's a good word for him!

As for Idol, glad it's over and happy for the contestants. Best of luck to Caleb. We'll see if he has the right combination of voice and personality to succeed. Kinda hard to beat Adam on all counts.

8.55 that's what I was saying Simon did not dance around Paula always stood up and enjoyed herself if she like a performance. I was saying the focus was not on judges. However they did show them standing up and clapping. To 9.07. There was to much focus on the judges for sure it was the idols night.

I didn't watch the AI finale ... basically haven't watched AI since Adam. However, I did watch a video of the Kiss performance with that rocker guy (out of curiosity) and can't even describe what I thought of the performance. All I could think about was ADAM on his finale. There was absolutely NO comparison!
I kept thinking WHY would AI bring back Kiss after Adam's performance. No one -- NO ONE -- could even come close! For spectacle (his outfit), singing, charisma, etc. etc. Just stupid, IMO.

Caleb seems like a nice guy and congrats to him. We know Jena will get a similar reward pkg. as Caleb. (Adam always said the money and record deal were the same between he and Kris Allen ). Winner and Runnerup were the same except for the title. Personally, I love rock and Caleb definitely is a rocker. I know I shouldn't even try to compare Adam and Caleb. Adam can sing any genre anytime, any song. I am curious to hear Caleb sing something like "Mad World" or "Tracks of My Tears" though. Can he sing other genres other than hard rock? Just sayin......

No, the winner and runner up contracts are not the same. Runner up is not guaranteed a contract and contract is different in length, etc.

10:21, advances and record deals are different for the runner up. We get info on contracts whenever a minor is involved.

I am disappointed Caleb won, for myself and for Idol. He is not the type of winner that Idol needs right now with its declining ratings. Jena is young, attractive, pretty good voice, pop, stage presence, marketable and most importantly, current....Caleb is non of those...Iidol did not need a karaoke singer.
Haven't watched the show yet, did watch a video of the Caleb/Kiss duet.....I actually thought it would be OK, not as good as Adam obviously:)...but it was really bad.

Oh such a grand day in Australia with Queenbert tickets being sold nationwide. Let's rejoice in that to the max!!!

Everyone knows the best way to avoid knowing the results "before time" is to STAY OFF from the net or at least from those sites where Am Idol is discussed for sure...

I think Adams was last year that had good record deals. They said that on the radio.

Caleb has no sex appeal, nor anything like the "IT" factor.
Jena is a good singer, but also lacking the "IT" factor. She will do better on radio, than Caleb. I cannot really see Caleb with screaming fans, wanting to marry him. Another lousy year on American Idol. I guess Adam really is "one in a billion". I wonder how many auditioned and were passed up, who were a lot better than the ones picked. Adam isn't the only one who came out of AI and has done extremely well, but I don't think this years winners have much of a chance in this cut throat business. Good luck to them anyway, they will need it.

Poor Caleb. All he's left with is a terrific range, powerful voice and the ability to sing on key.
