That is amazing.

Anyone getting the super duper stage seats?

Anonymous said...

Does that mean only seats left are in the nose bleed section. I wonder what Queen expected? Hoping this is beyond what they hoped for, not really knowing what the response would be. Their final decision to do this at all came from the huge response they got from the Las Vegas show. They have a huge investment into this tour, financially and otherwise. To me it sounds like it is going to be a successful tour. Just wondered how the sales are going for some of the other 40 summer tours? Be interesting to know.

Looks like a good year for tours so glad QwAL is one of them. I hope they have some nice merch at their concerts.

Why the obsession over knowing how many tickets are sold.

Looking forward to the merchandise also. Considering how many top artists have teamed up to tour this year, I think this bodes well for the Queen Adam tour. I've read where Dr, Bri was surprised at how well the tour received.

I doubt that anyone is actually "obsessed' over the ticket sale status, but as a fan of both Adam Lambert AND Queen I'm happy to know it's doing so well.

About tickets:

There are certainly tickets available to the concerts on reseller sites like Stub Hub, etc.. and there are seats on Ticketmaster scattered amongst the venues at most of the concerts. There are also what are called "Platinum Seats" which are basically good seats that are "sponsored"/offered by the artists themselves:

From the Ticketmaster website:

"What are Official Platinum Seats?"

"Official Platinum Seats are premium tickets to concerts and other events made available by artists and event providers through Ticketmaster. They give fans fair and safe access to some of the best seats in the house."

"Are Official Platinum Seats resale tickets?
No. Official Platinum Seats were not purchased initially and then posted for resale; they are being sold for the first time through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster's Official Platinum Seats program enables market-based pricing (adjusting prices according to supply and demand) for live event tickets, similar to how airline tickets and hotel rooms are sold. The goal is to give the most passionate fans fair and safe access to the best tickets, while enabling artists and other people involved in staging live events to price tickets closer to their true value."

For instance, the Vancouver concert I'm going to (YAY!!), has "Platinum Tickets" for Q + AL ranging in price from $260 (upper section to the right of the stage) up to a max of$760, which includes some Floor Row 1, Row 3 seats.... There are 17 listings of 2 tickets per, that are purchased as a package.. So 2 front row seats for a total of $1500 (2 at $750 each).. These are tickets that are released later than the original ticket sales, and the list updates occasionally as more seats are released. It's good to check back periodically to see what other seats have been released...

And a word about ticket resellers: My opinion..

I know a lot of people refuse to use sites like Stub Hub to buy tickets to events...But sometimes that is the only way to get a ticket to an event if an event is officially "sold out", unless you know someone, or know someone who knows someone who knows someone... :)). It is what it is..

I've used it to get tickets to sold out events, more than once.. I've used it to get better seats than what I could get during ticket sales, and I've occasionally gotten tickets for less than face value at the last minute on Stub Hub, and realllly good ones at that.

Some people go on there to make money on tickets that they bought for that express purpose..They had no intention of going themselves. And charge way over face value.. Stub Hub doesn't set the prices. But they do charge a fee for selling, and a fee for buying tickets.. Which raises the cost to the purchaser obviously..

HOWEVER, in addition to the sellers who are simply wishing to make money, there are many who use Stub Hub (the ticket seller arm of EBay) to sell tickets that they cannot use for one reason or another, and need a safe way to sell, and a secure and reliable way to receive payments .. As an example, a very good friend of mine, who is going to the Las Vegas concerts, recently sold tickets on Stub Hub at her original ticket cost plus the added charge that Stub Hub charged her to sell on their site.. That's entirely fair.. And she was very happy that her tickets sold almost immediately. And I'm sure that the people who bought them were also very happy to be able to buy those tickets..

We all make choices, and if we want to see a show bad enough, we may choose to pay more than face value.. The options are there.. for us to use or not.

Great news about the sales! Even the nosebleeds will probably be gone by showtime. So happy that this is one of the premier shows of the summer. Brian and Roger certainly want what will likely be their last big tour to be a huge success, and that's what it looks like it will be. I'm dreaming about all those in the audience who may be seeing Adam live for the first time. Hope they become fans for life. And Brian and Roger will be in their glory. June 19 can't come soon enough!

Spectacular!!! :)

I got two premium tickets from a sport reseller for tonight's NBA playoff Clippers vs. OKC at Staples below face value. So close to the court. YAY GO CLIPPERS.

I can't see anyone in their right mind paying 1500 dollars for a concert. That is beyond ridiculous. that money could go to so many important things. You could buy groceries, pay bills, house payments or charity. These rock singers are rich enough and people just keep feeding their bank accounts. Just don't get it. blah

how many countries will be coming to America for the Queenbert tour?

People can spend their money on anything they want to. Some people might have been saving up. Some just have the money and can afford it. Nobody else's business how or why someone spends a lot of money on a concert. It might be a once in a lifetime experience that they'll never be able to do again. Don't worry about other people.

1:44, I'll bet the audiences for the tour will be pretty international, esp. from the UK. Hope so!

That is over 39 million in ticket sales. Not bad.

That's a second huge platform for Adam after Idol. Adam should sing some of the Queen's songs that never have been performed live before. He definitely can SANG them right out of the arena's dooms if he gets the opportunity to sing some of the recorded songs live.

Going Slightly Mad should be a song choice in the setlist. alot of people are feeling that way these days and it is a brillant piece of music.

1000 dollars could buy a year long supply of Kripy Kremes.

anon 2:49 take it as a simple statement not a life insurance policy.

@6:27 That makes no sense.

@4:57PM "I'm Going Slightly Mad" isn't just a song. It is MV about Freddie, his illness and death. I don't think Bryan and Rodger will include this song in the show.
