Adam Lambert was the personal guest of Brian May at the last ever performance of We Will Rock You in London at the weekend.
Adam Lambert, the first openly gay artist to secure a number 1 album on the Billboard charts, was guest of honour at the last ever production of We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre, London, this past weekend.
The show, which was initially panned by critics, went on to run for 12 years, becoming one of the West End's biggest commercial successes.
The show was written by Ben Elton and co-produced by Phil McIntyre, Queen and Robert De Niro's Tribeca company.
Taking to Twitter, Adam tweeted, 'Thanks @DrBrianMay and Roger Taylor for inviting me to see the closing night of West End's We Will Rock You. Great performance!'
Adam Lambert is currently in the UK rehearsing for an upcoming 24-date Queen tour of the United States, Australia, Canada and Tokyo.

Why didn't they show the picture of Adam actually at the concert.
There might be doubts of Brian's choice of a front man for the Queen tour, from the picture they chose to post. Maybe someone else posted the wrong picture. Funny as hell, That's our boy, Front man for Queen.
OT Did they take the video of Adam doing Marry the Night off of youtube? The one with over 6 million views.
9:33, they called him a guest of honour. Maybe we hey weren't aware of the photos of Adam at the theater or didn't want to pay for one. I think you are looking for trouble where there is none.
Autocorrect. That was supposed to be Maybe they weren't...
Right, don't overthink this. It's a nice gesture and recognition for Adam. I'm sure Brian has no doubts about Adam.
You people have the least amount of humor, that I have ever seen. You obviously cannot take or understand a joke. No one is over thinking anything, just struck me as funny. Sorry you are having a blue Monday morning.
@10:38 Well, I agree with you. Funny as hell. I had a good laugh yesterday, tbh. :)
10:38, are you Anne Marie/9:33? And how is doubting Brian's choice of Adam funny?
@10:59 I'm @10:45, it's called situation comedy. I think it's funny and it happens to all of us.
11;10, please explain the situation comedy to me because I don't get it. Thank you.
situation comedy - a humorous drama based on situations that might arise in day-to-day life
11:44, how does that apply here? I know the definition I just don't see how it applies. What exactly is funny? What am I missing?
@11:48 Nevermind. But, this would not be funny

* meant IS not funny. Euthanasia gives me the creeps. (@12:01)
I didn't see anywhere that Adam posted he was the guest of honor, only that Brian had invited him. Why write this nonsense when it's not true. I am sure Brian May, the cast and those connected to this long running hit were the ones showcased. Looked like Adam was just a member of the audience, which is all he ever claimed to be.
12:01 PM, what is your problem? Just explain it, don't leave a link to something else.
12:11, I agree. Nobody official said Adam was the guest of honor. Wouldn't make sense.
@12:12 You'll experience it yourself, by living in the life.
Somebody has been drinking today or is off their meds.
"ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert · Jun 1
Thanks @DrBrianMay and Roger Taylor for inviting me to see the closing night of West End's We Will Rock You. Great performance!"
What an inspiration it must have been for him to be there! Cool that he showed his gratitude and support.
@12:25 threadbare argument.
The suggestion or even mention of Brian having doubts about his choice of Adam is far from "funny". It is an insinuation that is dispelled by Adam's tweet of gratitude for being invited, not for being "guest of honor" which this article explains as occasion for Adam's presence. Adam is not one to make something out of nothing, so please be guided, misguided one.
In case you still don't understand the humor I saw, was that Adam is going to be the front man for Queen's tour, this is huge and a very serious position. So they posted a silly picture of Adam making a face, when there are great pictures of him being serious, and not playing the fool. Just a poor choice of picture to go with the very serious subject.
NOBODY ever said or suggested that Brian had any doubt that Adam could do the job, you made that up. The title of this blog, said Adam was the guest of honor. Why are some of you saying he wasn't.
Brian May said that Adam was his personal guest. In the same blog it said Adam was the guest of honor. It's all in Adam 's Fan club site.
Adam Lambert Fan club Face book site. Check it out, and stop complaining, and making up stories.
Thanks, guys; just got home from work; and this thread from beginning to end just gave me my biggest laughs of the day. Sorry, no offense, but you do sound like a group of people that are all fighting over the wonderful Adam Lambert; don't you remember what he told the fans that were arguing at his concert that time? He yelled out no arguing and then he asked them to hug. So if he were here; he would probably ask you all to group hug!!
Love that chain around Adam's beautiful neck!
Adam Lambert can be my guest of honor any day of the week.
@5:18 pm
OK, he can be my guest of honor at night then,LOL
Lol the writer of the story just made up the silly guest of honor thing. He just got a free ticket and was in the audience
Yea I'd say there's a bit of disconnect between the thread heading which states Adam is guest-of-honour and then followed by a goofy look of Adam. Perhaps the photographers there don't know Adam that well nor thought that important enough, news. I guess many of Adam's photos on home-ground, are sent in by the press, internet sites, close friends or those who get paid for them. Looks like he was there pretty much on his own, just for the Queenbert rehearsals. But Brian does have great respect and love for Adam, and will always be his guest-of-honour.

I sure Brian and Rodger invited Adam to this last performance Adam thanked him personally Brian. Maybe not the guest of honor but certainly invited him there. They love and respect Adam. All the negative resident trolls on here will never change how highly Brian and Rodger think of Adam. Cant wait to see this fantastic concert production this summer. He only there for rehearsals, rehearsal to a once in a life time show. That's pretty important stuff I say he doing.
Actually, I'm not so particular about how a person is addressed, be it guest-of-honour or just a person in the audience; these are just for name sake. It's what a person is capable of achieving that ultimately counts. On a much larger-than-life scale...Mother Teresa was just a simple nun but what she succeeded in doing was so astounding, she won the Nobel Peace prize. So bottomline, name /status though important on the surface, it's just skin-deep. In Adam's case, he merits his mettle both as a singer and a person so it really doesn't matter where he sits, as guest-of-honour or simply a close Queen associate in the audience. When he sings, millions know who he is worldwide. As the saying goes: Show me the beef. lol!

There are some ridiculous arguments on this blog and one of them is on this thread. I can't believe what people fuss about .... so inane!!
This thread is ridiculous. A real example of t-shirt philosophy. "I can explain it for you but I can't understand it for you". Please attempt to cultivate a sense of humor.
: )
: )
Okay just a quote from Einstein, not making reference to anyone.
"If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." Einstein

@5:09
Great post! Agree with you 99%
(w everything else except reading this thread I was not laughing...)
But as you see, every 'sane post' (and with humour) goes unnoticed here and the same bickering goes on...
