Isn't this a computer generated posterization?

Like I commented yesterday, the original photo made up of three exciting colours of fiery red, black and blue-grey, is I think the best Adam photo with regard to the squatting poise, face expression, the octagram+enneagram tattoo, lighting and artistry, all coming together.
This drawing/painting has very good brush strokes, does capture Adam's wondering expression and those glamorous shoes.
Adam always gazes very deep and far away...perhaps he keeps wondering...what the hell is this or that...much like the toddler Adam wearing the cowboy hat. lwl!

OMG! That is just flawless!
Perfectly rendered indeed!

Why paint something that is already a photo? Art is original, not copying.

That is NOT a painting or drawing. It's the original photo, computer enhanced by focusing on the highlights and shadows only and then adding smears of color. In graphics it's called posterization. It's all done electronically, and the photo itself should be copyrighted by the photographer.

Digital art.

When I said it is a painting/drawing, I'm not referring to the conventional method of drawing or painting with actual pencil, brush, paints. It's computer graphics where the actual content of the photo is removed to get the outline of the figure; then using computer graphic software to 'draw/paint'...still rather well-done I thought especially the graphic effects and colour scheme.

This posterization is beautifully done.

5:40 PM. "This drawing/painting has very good brush strokes". 2:46 AM. "I'm not referring to the conventional method of drawing or painting with pencil, brush, paints."
Change of mind?

This isn't copying. It's being creative with an existing piece of art. It's makes the original piece new and exciting in a different way. Artists have always "played" with existing art forms. I say, the more creativity, the better! I like this one very much.

Most photographers copyright their work and must give permission for that work to be used in some way publicly. I don't know what the rules are on the Internet, as there are very few regulations. What was done to this photo can be easily done on a photoshop app. One click of the button wipes out midtones and gives the dark and light tones only. Another click brings back areas of color. To the artists who actually draw their beautiful portraits of Adam here, I give kudos. Good on you.

No, I don't change my mind so quickly; if I had thought they were conventional brush strokes, I might have commented differently as real paint/watercolour gives a feel of hand-drawn 'live' textures which I don't see in this rather well-done computer graphic. 'Brush strokes' can be made by computer graphics too but not the texture which can only be done by hand. By the way, I have commented on this kind of computer graphic which I called 'etching' before, so I recognised it.
