Nile Rogers is on American Idol right now!! woohoo!

Anonymous said...

Ok, now why did they not mention Adam when discussing all the people Nile has worked with? That was a little upsetting!

choons said...

I think they also missed Bowie - so Adam and Bowie are in the same boat -

Interesting silhouettes of Brian and Adam; but there is need of a focus of attention; right now the star-burst on Adam's face seems to be it but why there when it's Adam's profile that might be the capture. Also, a bit disconnected between Brian and Adam and same haziness throughout the picture. Adam's shapely long legs perhaps saved the day.

Lam-My said...

The dramatic starburst on Adam's face can stay; just remove Brian from the picture. Not to say Brian is not important, the picture is dynamic in nature so Adam striking that rockstar pose with lasers crisscrossing him is sufficient and works better than have Brian seemingly disconnected in the picture, I feel.

Nile is such an attention whore

I bet Adam will be at the party at The Abbey WEHO. Red carpet, expecting some stars. Might be why Shoshanna is in town.

I agree with 5:14 noticed immediately no mention of Adam working with Nile..it was upsetting..but I just read they missed Bowie also so I feel much better ..

Oh come on now, Nile has worked with millions of people in his workspan how are they going to mention everybody. Glad an embarrassing immature tirade wasn't launched on Twitter.

7:39 PM, but I knew the immature tirade would be here about Ryan. Waiting for the tirade on how dare a contestant sing Mad World.

Standing ovation for Adam / S8...Mad world:

I tuned in late to the show because we had company, so didn't get to hear them talk about Nile. It seems a little odd that Idol didn't mention Adam and Nile working together with Adam being an alumnus of their show.

I dig Quentin's version of the Grease song tonight. I'm glad the judges used their save on that other guy. He's pretty entertaining. ;)

@7:10 pm, poster #1

What an ignorant thing for you to say about Nile Roger's; who is a wonderful friend and supporter of Adam Lambert's. Entertainers entertain, that is what they do, of course they are going to get attention!

I really think that you are the epitome of the horrible name that you are calling this wonderful man Nile Rodgers. You said it, I didn't; but I think it suits you perfectly!!!!

Decency seemed to have skipped your mental capacity. Do you think that you can just throw any verbal garbage out there to try and ruin a wonderful respected man's reputation? Well, I am here to tell you, "NO YOU CAN'T!

I will not let that demeaning and ignorant untrue statement of such a wonderful and selfless human being go unchallenged!!!

I believe Shoshanna is in town to start working on Adam's promotions for the release of his cd TOH dropping. I believe someone posted that seemed to be what she seemed to be saying in her tweets. Although, it may be for other artists, and things too.
But, it seemed that her main priority this trip was for Adam.

She will probably be attending events with Adam too!

I can't tell who is trolling any more.

Shosh is in town for John Legend.

Every picture captures a moment in time. This is a beautiful moment. Thank you for sharing it with us.

@5:14 PM

I agree with you; Adam should have been mentioned. I bet Nile did not know that Adam's name would be left out. He mentions Adam all the time in his interviews and tweets; as someone mentioned in another thread. I was disappointed too.

Shoshanna is in town for Adam Lambert; she tweeted that she was the other day; in answer to a tweeter over on You tube. She will probably see other artist under their management while here. They take care of more than one artist in the same town. Of course, makes sense to me!

Adam Lambert is a very important star; get use to it naysayers!!!!

12:10 AM here/correction

Meant to say according to a poster over on ATOP.

Yes I can feel Nile is a selfless man; thinks of others a lot and honest; and also the way he brought Avicii and Adam together on the Lay Me Down collaboration; that may be why Adam worked in Sweden on his Original High album; not sure if Avicii and Adam collaborated. He is a very stylish guitarist, a style of his own.

@11:21 PM: I totally agree with you, good informative post.

@11:50 PM: Thank you very much for your wonderful post on setting the record straight about the wonderful Mr. Nile Rodgers. I guess we must just consider the source; and I will just leave it at that!

@9:27 PM: Nice post; agree with you about Mad World! I think that song just belongs to Adam now! He is the only one that I enjoy singing it. Sorry!

It's Ryan's fault, can't be the writers or Nile's fault. Ryan should do more for Adam even though Nile had a chance to say oh, my friend Adam sang that on this show too. Any song Adam sings is the best version ever. How dare someone else try to sing it on Idol. Without listening to it i know Adam's version was better. Shosh spends most of her time on Adam promo, little on her other clients.

12:29.....Thank you.

I just love that picture thanks for posting.

Shosh is probably dealing with Pharrell's image disaster after the plagerism lawsuit he lost.

Oh, And I agree..... Nice legs ;-)

"Nile is such an attention whore" ?!
I'd call him an intelligent , astute master of reinventing himself. At about 50 he knew how to take advantage and develop the huge opportunity offered by Adam and Sam Sparro to play guitar for Shady , the very times when his career entered a penumbra, at that time, 2012, Nile was a page in the book of disco/funk music.
Our Adam is great/will be greater without some people trying to minimize other musicians' accomplishments, especially one who is so wonderfully appreciative and supportive with Adam.

I wish I had Adam's legs but then I'd be 6ft 1in tall. <3

So you know all about how much time Shoshanna spends on her clients. Hello! Adam is ONE of her clients. Hmmmm, methinks you presume too much.

Furthermore, other singers are entitled to sing songs that Adam sings. The only songs he "owns" are his own songs.

Anonymous said...

Pan, I hope you aren't saying Shady brought back Nile's career because that just isn't true.

Anonymous said...

I certainly disagree that Brian should be removed from the picture. It's perfect as it is. Very Rock & Roll. The frontman and his trusty companion, the lead guitarist. Both equally necessary in a R&R band.

Lam-My said...

I'm looking at it from the composition of a picture point of view, not Brian and Adam as a team. To test it out, I actually put a piece of tissue-paper to cover Brian's image and yes, the picture looked as if Adam just arrived from space, the artistic effect of the haze, star-burst and laser beams. It's called cropping the picture which photographers do all the time and it's not to be taken as diminishing anyone. Fine, no qualms if you wish to retain Brian in the picture.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.
Yes, Nile didn't become famous in 2010, all his previous accomplishments are proofs of a long and successful career_Chic, collaborations, production, We Are Family Foundation, awards etc. What I'm saying is that Shady was about to become a milestone in the 2010-2014 era , that this song and his playing funk on it drew attention of other musicians, Daft Punk, P.Williams, Avicii also interested in funk. And that's how he became mainstream again. And that's what I THINK, without any intention to minimize his past successes.

@PAN

I am a different poster (person) entirely, but I do believe that the Daft Punk Collab & Pharrell collab was, if not before Shady, there were very much in a similar time frame. I would have to add that the Daft Punk RAM album and the Pharrell connection were what, imho, brought Nile's profile back into mainstream focus (MAINSTREAM is only what I am saying). I don't have time, but it could be easily looked into on the internet... I do see what you are saying, I truly do... but I also feel that other things were largely at play to bring Nile's profile back to such a huge mainstream level. Just my POV. And btw, I am a HUGE longtime fan of Adam Lambert.

Anonymous said...

Honestly Pan, that is one of the most ridiculous and ignorant things I have ever seen here. Other than Glamberts no one ever heard shady. It wasn't a successful song. It was an album track on a record heard by a handful of people.

Anonymous said...

Sorry Pan, I have to disagree. Nile was famous long before 2010. He may seem more visible since 2010 but Shady isn't the cause of it. Many things brought Nile back to the forefront (not going to bother listing them all, you can read Nile's wiki page) including his autobiography.

Shady(Trespassing) released in May 15-2012
Get Lucky- April 2013
Lay Me Down (True album 2013) single- April 2014

I'm also a huge fan of Adam , that's why I do care for the accuracy of the info about him.

Lol Pan you might want to educate yourself on more than adam lambert.
