From Rolling Stone:

LINK TO Queen, Adam Lambert Turn 'Ghost Town' Into Headbangers Ball

"Band debuts riff-heavy arrangement of singer's rising solo single at South American tour kickoff"

Excerpts from the Rolling Stone article:

Queen and Adam Lambert performed the singer's rising single "Ghost Town" for the first time together in Sao Paulo, Brazil, turning the dance floor harbinger into a heavy hitting arena rocker (via Fuse).

The performance opened with a similarly stripped-down intro, with Lambert crooning softly over Brian May's strumming and Roger Taylor's light drumming. But where the original drops into a deep house groove, May unleashed the first in a barrage of ragged, rousing riffs.

Despite the vast differences between the original and live version, the new arrangement felt neither forced nor awkward. Lambert's vocals soared and May delivered a characteristically jaw-dropping solo, proving "Ghost Town" to be as apt an anthem for the club kids as the headbangers.

Very cool that RS is paying attention to QAL and responding to the show. I suppose we'll get a RIR report from them, too. I loved hearing that QAL is the #1 selling ticket for the whole festival. So many people seeing our ADAM perform! The Ghost Town variation they performed was great. Brian's guitar riffs gave it a whole different vibe. I love the original, of course, but this one definitely rocks an arena!

OT Well have finally just finished watching all the videos from the whole show, the audience loved it. Every twist of the hip, every eye roll, every flutter of the eyelid in fact every move Adam made they embraced. Roger and Brian...wonderful too. I would so love to go and see them together again.
Can not wait till January in Auckland.
Thanks so much to the Admins. of this site and the people who take the videos you are legends, and I thank you so, so much.

I have to say that when I checked in last night with the intention of a one minute review of this site, I was stunned to see the new rock version of "GHOST TOWN". Two hours later, I was still watching all the videos. Bryan May is absolutely a genius when it comes to rock guitar. I love, love and more love this new rendition of "GHOST TOWN". Bryan, Roger and Adam were born to perform together. They are simply pure magic. I had to tear myself away from the computer after midnight and went into the arms of metamorphosis as one happy camper!! Rock In Rio will tomorrow make musical history in the archives of QUEEN. I am thrilled to be a witness to the tremendous success of Adam Lambert. I will always be a true fan to him and to QUEEN. They have so stolen my heart that I could never turn back. I just cannot imagine a future without Bryan, Roger and Adam somehow being intertwined with each other. ROCK ON! Margarita Lady

I'm not complaining , I'm trying only to take notice and take things as they are...most of the time. But,hey, if I were the princess of the universe....! lol
Yeah, apparently RS has had a change of heart, of tone and attitude towards Adam , even Brian, it's pleasing, as it is notorious that media( RS included), both serious and tabloid papers have their own darlings, it happens on both sides of the pond. More than ever, since I've become Adam's fan I read their reviews, music sections and willy- nilly I've become an "expert" on gossips, petty partisanship, some disguised in clever, sophisticated reviews. I wish them good luck , and a wish, never to forget that the show biz is a huge, diverse , contrastive entity.

Your thoughts, heartfelt words are mine ,too, I do appreciate the North American fans' effort to promote Adam, his Ghost Town is ranked 64 in Billboard Hot 100 , maybe in a week or two, after the South American tour, and an efficient promotion it will enter the first 50.It, Adam, the fans so deserve this.

I believe, and this is a strong conviction based on facts, that Adam playing with Queen is /has been an event of the magnitude of AI, his three albums, in the long run it will have positive consequences if everybody involved , Adam himself, his management , fans join efforts and play the cards well. His way to stardom may have been , sometimes, bumpy, marked by hatred and intolerance, but it has been steady and now he is unstoppable.Time is not gentle with us, mortals , that's why , maybe, I'm too pushy insisting on taking advantage of each and every opportunity, of going to meet them, of creating them. I hate doing this , I'll hate myself for doing this, can't help it, is S.Smith more talented, are his songs better, no , he has a team with a clear strategy with him, what shall be done to turn a gay singer into a star, career longevity, Grammy award, do you really think that it is a hidden secret there? Is Adam already a star , is he a star in the making , it depends on our/his expectations.

I absolutely LOVE this rock version of "Ghost Town" !! Brian slayed that guitar and Adam was amazing on the vocals and transformed that pop song into a head banging rocker! And I was happy with RS's positive review! I'm excited for their RIR performance tonight.
