In the last photo, his outfit is commensurate with Chinese/Japanese fashions...the bold borders/applique/jacket-tail, citing a bit of the past, avant-garde too; quite the opposite of the Singapore care-lare-fare loose aerating outfit with sandals. Adam looked good in care-lare-fare as well. Just as the term suggests, throw care to the wind. lwl! He made a last minute wardrobe change; too hot, so perhaps we see some of them now in the cold cities up north.
Hello @LAM-MY and all Glamberts-I am back from Christmas vacation and I watched the full Shanghai concert, which, I must say, was excellent. The Chinese/Japanese outfit is stunning, and I knew that special flowery suit from his past would somehow show up again in his future. And, indeed, here it is in full force on his new tour. Though, and please don't be too hard on me, I am not crazy about his third outfit, the white ripped jeans and jacket. Perhaps he will update it later on as the tour progresses. I wonder what fashion expert worked that one out for him. For some reason, something is lacking with this particular outfit.........His voice is in amazing form and the staging for his songs displays youth and vitality. That lead guitar is top notch, especially with "LUCY"..........I got so sick on my vacation in Washington, DC, with a upper respiratory infection and all I could think of was, "Please G-d and the Universe, don't let Adam get this terrible illness, because it could possibly knock out his voice for two weeks". I say a special prayer for him each day to remain healthy and happy as he sings his way across the world! Jean Renard
Hey! Welcome back! Jean Renard!
Yes, there is always a risk when travelling to another environment; the immune system is exposed to new viruses and not quite ready to kill them. But it strengthens. Yea, Adam is in top form; maybe he gets a couple of flu jabs before embarking on tour; in any case, young people usually can nip them in the bud. Glad you are okay now, you're quite strong really; running all over the country.
Despite the negative petitions against Adam in Singapore, we gave him a rousing welcome. He even got onto our main Channel NewsAsia which is watched by millions not only in Singapore but the region. He gave us a terrific NYE show, headlined the concert, 12 songs, slightly over an hour. Now, Mediacorp people know him very well especially after that halabalu.
Adam took it in his brave stride; he said he felt flattered by such overwhelming attention, rather than thinking of the gloom and doom side of it. Come to think of it, he had gotten a lot worse at home where signatures actually got him cancelled. Just like the viruses, his Rockstar immune system got him sailing right through it. Here, I'm quite proud and happy that everything went ahead as planned, to the letter, nothing cancelled. This is how we do things here, no flip-flopping...just do according to plan, with a little more caution.
One instance on the 'Not The 5 Show' touched me. A group of designers/tailors sewed a jacket for him basing on his photograph to analyse his fashion likes, and came up with a denim+leather jacket; presented it personally to Adam on the auditorium stage...2 Muslim girls wearing scarves and a Muslim guy. That was very humbling and significant to me, in the present context regarding religion/conflicts. The best thing is we don't feel anything strange; we do it all the time to one another across races/religions.
I hope Adam gets invited back again, perhaps even to do a documentary; Mediacorp has expanded into a new sprawling campus; they do feature films, musicals etc.
Thanks Jean Renard! Your name sounds rather aristocratic...you're sure you didn't descend from kings. lwl!
Actually, I LIKE the costume Adam wears in the third set - youthful, glittery, lighthearted. I've finally come to terms with the "distressed jeans", and these are nicely fitting and not too "pipestem" in the calves (Adam has great legs-in proper fitting pants). The tie-dyed tank top looks great.
But, I really, really like the sequined jacket -- a clever construct of a most CASUAL STYLE jacket covered with gorgeous green glitter--- announcing that this is not just anybody -- THIS IS ADAM LAMBERT!!
And, best of all, that supple jacket FLOWS over him, accentuating his wonderful dance moves and lithe body. I think it contributes to the "mood" of that set more than an entire dress suit covered in glitter could ... IMHO.
On the other hand, I am not in love with the modern, architectural outfit of the opening set..not flattering..but interesting. I love Adam whatever he wears!
