Whew... that's a "spooky" road. Returning after dark (and after partying) would be even spookier!

The ones I saw all seemed to be ATV's-- don't know about the one from which the video was taken.....was that Adam's?

Wonder what really went on in Mykonos. All the pictures showed them having fun, like a bunch of boy scouts, I've never seen so many halos put up when they saw a camera coming at them. 12 grown assed gay men together for a week, if they didn't have an X-rated time then it was all a waste of money, LOL we will never see those pictures.

Thank goodness!!! "Those pictures" are what almost ruined Adam's career before it started! He's still playing catch-up.

Of course they had an X-Rated time!

But although most of the world is getting more open minded about "knowing", but is still not quite as ready for "seeing".

I didn't really want to see, I know they had a good time, and Adam put out pictures that would be good for advertisement for Mykonos. I doubt that Adam had any "lonely nights". Some of the men who went were in a relationship already, they weren't all single. Just glad he is back without any mishaps, at least none caught on camera.LOL

Why is it not possible for grown adult men to have a good time with their friends without it being X rated?

Yes I totally agree with above Unknown - from my perspective this was a once in a lifetime destination vacation for 12 friends to reconnect and spend quality time with each other. They are all 30+ mature individuals who are probably past the stage of needing sexual exploits. Of course they wanted a fun vacation, but as fans of Adam and all that he stands for, should we not participate in stereotyping what we think gay men do on their vacations. I think if Adam or his friends read ".....if they didn't have an x-rated time then it was a waste of their money"........they would be greatly saddened and disheartened. Their pictures were one of community and friendship - if one wanted more then we are no better than the lowlife media that Adam has had to constantly battle with. End of rant!

Dream on. It was a time to reconnect with friends, and some he sees all the time. It was a fun vacation. enuff said.

I completely agree with Unknown and Anonymous8. Some on this thread seem to be buying into negative stereotypes. If a group of single people of any gender or orientation go on vacation to a place with a lot of night life and other singles, there are likely to be some romantic connections. I imagine there were some in Adam's party who "got lucky", and good for them. But to suggest that a group of gay men on vacation together must be an "X-rated" experience is rather offensive. Do you think they were having orgies every night?

Anne Marie said...

No I did not insinuate any orgies, Just single guys having fun with other guys. They went to have fun, and to get away for a week, especially in Adams case. He has been on the go all year. Absolutely nothing negative intended. I enjoyed all the pictures. So get off my back. And x-rated is not bad, it is still all fun,

krismidas, you said it perfectly. There is a stereotype that gay men are always promiscuous and ready to have sex with any available gay guy. Adam once said in a TV interview (paraphrasing), "Gay guys are not automatically attracted to all other gay guys." It's one thing to meet someone on vacation and have a sexual/romantic connection. But it's another thing to assume that having sex is always the end goal. Gay or straight, not everyone is looking for an X-rated vacation.

I agree with the posters above. Negative stereotypes involving gay men are abundant, and posts above are a good example of what NOT to say when talking about people in general. Would you have said the same thing about a group of straight friends of both genders (some of them single) going on vacation together? This is just as bad as the comment form Funny or Die Adam tweeted about: "just another night at Adam Lambert's house". Yes, he took it in stride and laughed about it, but he noticed it. And it's hurtful. I have gay friends, and I can assure you they would be very hurt to be referred to as Adam and his friends have been referred to here in many of these comments. And not just in this post. Just wow.

Yes, that Funny or Die tweet was just about as ignorant and insensitive as one can be, there was no humor there. It was extremely hurtful. No gay person, especially Adam, should ever get used to that or laugh it off easily. These are the things that eats up one's soul.

Because gay guys can't have fun if they aren't having sex. RME

I agree that it's offensive and only an assumption. And we all know what ass-uming can do. We can choose to take the high road.

Shelagh said...

I'm sure they all had a fab time, and not there for sex, as someone said some of them are in relationships, the others are free and single to mingle, but I think it was Adam just wanting to have a vacation out of the limelight with his best friends so glad he put pics up,but if every time he doess they get analysed to the tiniest proportion, then I think he will stop sharing with us !!

yada said...

Hi Shelagh. I agree with what you've shared and with many viewpoints expressed here. I also personally have the impression that Adam isn't too concerned with what we analyze and scrutinize. While bigger issues may cause him pause, I think he is all about just living... Doing his thing and living each moment; and not spending much time on other's interpretations and speculations about his pictures. I think if he was going to stop sharing photos, and/or not allowing his friends to, it would've already happened by now.

'Live and Let Live' seems to be his m.o. for how he spends his time. I think he's aware that 'Let Live' often includes others' possible speculations, conjectures and opinions about whatever is publicized... And, I think he simply doesn't care too much (unless it's negativity about one of his friends). If seems to me that he developed much of this even before he became truly famous.

... Having said that, I just want add that I would never intend to imply that fans and the public needn't comment and respond to Adam's life and pictures with regard and consideration in mind... Simply that, imho, a as far as Adam's state-of-mind... he's probably mentally more into fully living (and going where life takes him - moments publicized or not - than other's remarks and ideas about his life.

Of course, that's all my speculation & conjecture, too! lol ;))
