Fox’s ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ Remake: the Performances, From Best to Worst

It’s just a jump to left! The Rocky Horror Picture Show, or as Fox as bizarrely decided to stylize it, The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Don’t Dream It, Be It, is arguably the most iconic and timeless cult classic known to mankind.

“Hot Patootie” (5/5): HERE WE GO! Adam Lambert breaks through the window like the saving grace he is. Unless you live under a rock, Lambert’s vocal prowess is undeniable. And, despite the fact he looks like a Brooklyn hipster troll, he sings the hell out of this song and DELIVERS like a real American Idol. It was originally reported that Lambert was offered the role of Frank-N-Furter, but turned it down. One can’t help but wonder what could have been with Lambert’s pipes and stage presence.

Watched up to Adams Lamberts part, and switched channels. Adam put his professional acting skills t work. Love his part. His part was to short. The show itself did not care for. Not my type of show.

Wish all the Eddie videos included the crash through the window. This one cuts it off. I love that moment.

Of course I loved Adam's brief, but rocking performance, but I thought he would have been great as Riff Raff, and that part has more air time. I cannot see Adam in the part of Frankenfurter, so I'm glad he turned that one down, though he certainly would have been able to handle the extensive vocals. I'll probably get killed for saying this, but I think the one weak link in this whole production was Laverne Cox. Horrible vocals and not convincing in the role. But then, NO ONE does Frankenfurter like Tim Curry. Just the right balance of masculinity and femininity to be the Sweet Transvestite. At any rate, I've seen the movie many times and I've seen at least 5 or more live stage productions of RHPS, and I never really get tired of it. So, with that said, I STILL enjoyed last night's production despite my disappointment in Laverne Cox.

Artemis, I have to agree with you about Laverne Cox. She is a great talk show guest, smart and funny and charming. She's good on Orange Is The New Black. And, TBH, she doesn't have that great of a voice. But the role of Frankenfurter just didn't suit her. I think it should have been a guy playing a transvestite, just like Tim Curry played it. I think Adam could have handle it, but I'm glad he did Eddie. Overall, he's getting excellent reviews.

I thought RHPS was going to be more entertaining than it was. Time Warp was ok ... the rest of the music did not grab my attention ... almost fell asleep ... until ADAM came crashing on the scene!! A breath of fresh air ... ADAM gave the BEST performance of them all in the all too short time he was on the screen!! I was chair-dancing like a maniac (can't dance anymore) & trying to sing along but I couldn't keep up with ADAM's youthful exuberance & OTT vocals!! I Loved ADAM but when Frank eliminated him because of his/her jealousy ... I totally lost interest ... just barely made it to the end for the reprise which IMO was disappointing. I was hoping for a hologram of Eddie singing with Ivy ... not two pairs of lips!! I'm gonna go & order my CD of the show & listen to ADAM over & over & just sit & visualize his phenomenal performance over & over!!

BTW ... don't need to watch the original ... satisfied with the TV reboot ...
