Being a Star no doubt is a 'manic/depressive' occupation. The Star has to learn how to deal with it.

I don't understand their reasoning .. not everyone is the same .. I don't agree that you have to be a 'manic/depressive' in order to be a Star!! It all depends on each individual how he lives with his role of celebrity .. everyone has a different outlook!! I don't believe they should all be lumped into one neat little package!! JMO

FYI...This is not a real-life interview....it is an excerpt from that TV series - "Feud - Betty and Joan" (about the ongoing feud between Betty Davis and Joan Crawford...ageing stars)...quite good.

that's Kathy Bates as Joan Blondell.

Thanks, choons....I should have mentioned that.

BTW.. Lollymop and Lambert Outlaw...actually, there was no mention of "manic/depressive" in that video excerpt above.

Nor did it describe the symptoms of that disease, better known as Bipolar Disorder, a lifelong chronic mental illness... completely inner-directed -- i.e., NOT directed by outside circumstances or occupation... which manifests itself by causing drastic unpredictable mood-swings in the sufferer... from manic euphoria to deep depression.

Sorry....had to point that out. I had a friend who had that illness...who eventually committed suicide... and I feel that the term "manic/depressive" is often used too lightly/broadly and incorrectly by the general public.
