I heart that Adam's version of this song is bluesy and beautiful. I am not familiar with the original but I guess Adam has done a great job with it. Can't wait to hear it! Hope it gets some attention beyond his fan base.

Hope we get some vids from tonight's show in Pittsburgh!

Just listened to the song on Spotify! It's fantastic! Bluesy and so sexy. Adam puts a luscious rasp into his voice that gives it a lovely throaty sound.

Gonna listen to this one A LOT and will stream all I can.
BTW, keep streaming SP and CTY also! It's our Christmas gift to Adam. I know he's Jewish, but I don't think he'll mind. LOL

I hope it somehow makes it to YouTube as I have no other way of hearing it. I know it will some great.

Spotify comes in two different versions: Free and Premium.. Premium is about $10 a month, Basic is free.

For those who don't have it, here's a link with more info for the free version:

https://www.spotify.com/us/

It would be really great if those who do have Spotify will listen i.e. stream.. on their accounts. No doubt the song will show up on You Tube too but if possible, listen on Spotify for maximum "points" for Adam.. Hoping perhaps there will be another "official" way to listen if Spotify isn't an option for some.

After 10 years my wish came true! I have been waiting for Adam to record a Christmas song any actually and he did it! At first glance I confused the title of the song with another Christmas Classic but I love the song that was chosen! In case anyone wondering the first time I heard this song was by The Eagles, I've been a fan of all Eagles music (1970s-80s), so I immediately recognized it! By the way on Twitter there's some fans complaining about Adam recording this. I did not read the complaints but read other fans comments. The fact that Adam is Jewish, why is he singing about Christmas, very stupid reasons.

By the way I have been streaming this Please Come Home for Christmas since last night and this morning! Adams other songs too!

If some people are not complaining or picking on others about something they are not happy. Such a crime a Jewish man sings a christmas song. I believe it is not a religious type song about Christmas. Just a nice song for Christmas.

I can repeat stream it on Spotify. Depends on what level of Spotify you have. I love the song!

I do hope we don't get too much into the negative comments re Adam singing a Christmas song... I had to roll my eyes a bit when I saw comments referring to that on twitter.. Christmas is a time of year, a holiday that whether we are Christian, Jewish, etc.. etc..we do tend to celebrate or participate in, in some fashion. Adam has friends who celebrate Christmas, he has participated along with them.. To argue or obsess about his singing this song, which is not necessarily about Christmas, more that the song is about missing someone and hoping they'll be around to see at this time of year.. or at New Year's Eve, etc.. It's about feelings, love, missing someone, feeling joy.. etc.. And it's a beautiful song, sung by Adam. Good grief. People will get weird over just about anything.

Personally, I have good friends who are Jewish, but they still participate in the holiday season, with friends and family, who are not Christian, Muslim, etc.. etc.. It's a time to see friends, family, if that's possible, to reconnect. It doesn't have to be a religious celebration. It's like when we say "Happy Holidays" to friends. And to our Christian (and non Christian) friends, when we talk about having a a "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Hanukkah" or "Happy Kwanza" .. I try to be aware of the traditions of others, and we can share in their traditions as well. In the very liberal Christian church I have membership in, we share Passover feasts with a local Jewish synagog. We visited a Russian Orthodox Church and learned their traditions. We have good friends who we share holiday greetings with: We send them Hanukkah greetings, they send us Merry Christmas greetings.

Being too worried about someone including a seasonal word or two in a song about relationships, love, caring, when it may not be in their particular religious beliefs, or their traditions isn't something to get upset about in my opinion..

Just my thoughts.

Glitzylady...you're absolutely right! I use to have Jewish neighbors and my family being Catholics we exchanged Christmas gifts! Like you say and Sue it's just a song not particularly religious. Boggles my mind some people ! This version is amazing!

Sometimes I cannot fathom the crazy people in this world that would not allow a Jewish person to sing a song about Christmas. Do not Christians know that one of the most famous Christmas songs written about the holiday of Christmas was "WHITE CHRISTMAS", written by a famous Jew, IRVING BERLIN? Get a life! Jean Renard

Sue Smith said...

I did not know that particular song was written by Irving Berlin. Thanks for the information on that

My own brief mention of Adam being Jewish certainly wasn't meant to open up a negative topic. I meant it innocuously and casually. Nothing more. It seems that others have had some sort of real issue about it.

glitzy, I agree with all you said about the intertwining of religious beliefs at this time of year. There are people of many faiths who find a way to share their celebrations. There's room for everyone.

And I LOVE this song! Stream it if you can. My Spotify has been busy!

I have FREE Spotify .. only for ADAM songs .. all others I do not listen .. anyway .. I have been listening to ADAM's new CHRISTMAS song .. don't give a darn who sang it first or whether it's a Christian song or anything else!! ALL I care about is our wonderful ADAM is finally singing a Christmas song & doing a most Splendorifous job of it!! I only want to hear this song by ADAM .. don't care to compare with anyone else .. just going to stream it whenever I wish & listen to it repeatedly because no one else sounds so wonderful as ADAM!! Thank you so much for this shiny new "ornament" for me to add to all the other gems on my "musical" Christmas tree right next to "I'll Be Home For Christmas" by ELVIS!! Or some of Neil Diamond's Christmas gems (he's Jewish too) .. and to HELL with all the naysayers!! GOD created us all .. HIS SON JESUS was Pure Jewish too!!

I'm not of Jewish faith. I was brought up Catholic. My Mother was of Jewish decent but was not Jewish faith.
My grandparents on my fathers side talked mainly German.
My father almost got held back in the first grade for just speaking German.
My father was a big Catholic. The way I feel is Christmas is a time to celebrate friends and family no matter what faith they are. People don't know how lucky they are to have some family alive like sisters and brothers. My husband still has his brother. My whole family is dead. I wished I would have had more time with my sister who died over 20 years ago and should have lived much longer. My uncle and his wife used
To get upset over stupid things like this made me sick. Spend time with who you love they will not be there forever.
My uncle and aunt were 2 different religions they had 2 kids. They took one to one church and the other took the other kid to another church. Many arguments about it years ago.
What does it matter. So ridiculous that people would think an artist like Adam should not sing a non religious Christmas song. People need to get hobbies.

I've been listening to nothing but this beautiful song on Spotify .. got it on continuous play & I'm sitting here at my computer with goose bumps & tears .. I LOVE this song .. takes me back to the doo wop days .. ADAM would have fit in so well then .. people just listened to the music .. didn't need any back stories like today!! Artists were judged for their talent & songs were sung by everyone no matter who you were!! Entire albums were played by the DJs when they were released & requests were Honored along with dedications no matter how many names there were!! Wish those days could come back but unfortunately those memories will be gone as the years pass & fade into the past!! There aren't many of us left to tell about those days of innocence & we can't live forever!! Sad!!

Keep streaming Glamberts!! GOD Bless us all every one (Tiny Tim - A Christmas Carol)

Oh Adam would have been fabulous in the Doo Wop days. However the 70's would have been glorious for Adam it is in his blood. I remember American Band Stand durring the Doo Wop days. I was pretty little and my sister a young teen, she was 6 years older than me.
We would stand in front of a long mirror at my grandmas house and sing that music.
Adam singing this Christmas song is so wonderful the vocals glorious. I remember a lady on one of those talk shows could have been abroad or the US not sure saying Adam was an old soul in a young body. The lady was referring to Adam fronting Queen.
She actually said Adam was the best possible man to front Queen. The lady said because he was an old soul in a young body. I think he loves the music of the past more than some of the new stuff. This new album starting with side A I believe is his contribution
To that love. The love of the 70's that I believe started with his parents and especially Adam's dad.

Above I said my whole family had passed away. I meant my immediate family on my mother and fathers side only. I still have cousins ect. But not the same.
My children and grand babies are my family now and I thank God for them.
I did not mean to ramble in that above post. I guess I was just thinking of my family that had passed and missing them. People putting to much emphasis on a persons religion that is only that persons business. I saw do much of that in my family. Sorry

iT'S always sad to see how often religion is a "dividing" factor in our society.....with all the best of intentions!

Let me mention though that the vast majority of Adam's fans are THRILLED that Adam recorded this song...

Only a very few have any questions of why he recorded it..
