HUFFINGTON POST: Adam Lambert Interview

Adam Lambert was interviewed by Huffington Post's Lauren Moraski for a print Q&A.  Lauren was the same journalist who interviewed Adam on-camera for the BUILD series last September (screencapped above).  The video of that interview, promoting "VELVET SIDE A," can be found at the bottom of the HuffPo piece, but we have also included it at the bottom of this post, for your convenience.

Here's a preview of one of the Q&A from today's interview:
Do you feel like there’s something that you’re itching to do that you haven’t done yet or something that’s on the horizon?

I would like to get more into the acting world. I think that would be really fun. And also, I’m starting to become interested in planting seeds in the creative space where it’s not necessarily for my own music, but to create other projects behind the scenes, to be a producer or a writer or a consultant. There’s definitely some stuff in the works. So I’m getting geared up for that.

Still hoping that Adam gets a decent acting role at some point. I think he could handle it very well with the right part. As far as doing behind the scenes work, producing, consulting, etc. I think it's a smart plan. Not every singer can depend solely on their own music output for the long haul. Adam is smart to think ahead.

Agreed. I wish he could be given a chance to do Judas. That would be a great start — and then someone write a musical for him. But he's got time. And, btw, can't remember if it was this interview or one of the others, but I do hope he has the chance to start writing new music. I'm sure it feels a bit off-putting to just release an album, promote it, perform tracks off it, etc., while, at the same time, trying to put together your next album. But that's how it is done often and, given that Adam has to stay home right now, it's the perfect time and would be to his benefit to get a head start. Don't make us wait another 4-5 years, Adam! :)

I agree. Never hurts to keep writing. I think he said that there were about 30 songs written in the Velvet batch. So there are still some there unused, but new ideas and new songs are always what we want, and not just every 4-5 years!

He always talks about his favorite movie "The Velvet Goldmine"(?-is that the name?) I often wonder if he wouldn't like to do a remake of that one. Not having seen it myself, I don't know if that's even feasible. I think it's supposed to be about a rock star...or wanna be.
Oh well, I wish Hollywood would resurrect that wonderful age of musicals....perfect for Adam!

Just checked online...the movie I mentioned above WAS "The Velvet Goldmine". That might explain why Adam named his album "Velvet"....the movie still remains in the forefront of his mind.

Hummm....wonder if there's anything more to that....a new project, film, whatever? Oh my, not much to do these days besides sit home alone, think and speculate!

Me again. I read somewhere that Adam said he would like to star in a prospective movie about George Michael. And that brings up the same problem that was presented with the Elvis movie. Surely George Michael's voice would be used, and the actor who played him (Adam?) would lipsync the music.

Since Adam would not be using his own voice, I don't know why he would want to play the part. Adam...of ALL people....lipsyncing to someone else's voice....sacrilege!

Alternately, Adam portraying George Michael while using his own voice would also be a sacrilege. A movie about George Michael SHOULD star George's OWN superb vocals.

How about a movie about Adam Lambert --- played BY Adam Lambert---using Adam Lambert's voice? Now THERE's a novel idea!
