Producer Steven Baker sat down with "American Idol"-runner-up-turned-superstar Adam Lambert yesterday.

The interview, which took place at The Upstairs at the Kimberly Hotel here in New York City, is for our "Playlist" series.

As fans of the show know, the series concept involves a discussion with a headlining artist about his or her musical influences. Lambert, of course, will reveal his when the interview airs, expected (for now) in early March.

Often, as is true in Lambert’s case, that includes memories of parents -- and their tastes.

To his fans: Don't worry, you'll get plenty of heads up.

The production level in the Playlist interviews, collected on our Web site here, is top-notch -- cameras, lighting, setting, et cetera.

Lambert, of course, caught some heat for a racy performance at the end of the year here on ABC during the American Music Awards, in which the openly gay performer kissed a male musician and groped a female dancer.

But Lambert has no regrets, as he told Barbara Walters in his "The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009" interview.

This interview will be aired on ABC in March.
