The GLAAD awards take place in Los Angeles on April 17.

FROM AFTERELTON:
GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) just announced that none other than Adam Lambert would be performing at the April 17th GLAAD Awards in Los Angeles. Not surprisingly, Lambert is up for Outstanding Music Artist. Gee, I wonder if he'll win? And I bet he might even kiss a guy...

In GLAAD's press release about Lambert's performance, the glam rocker had this to say, “GLAAD has advocated for out music artists, including myself, and I am proud to be part of the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards this year. GLAAD’s work to share stories that grow acceptance and understanding about the gay and transgender community is so important in our culture today.”

Anyone notice that Ricky Martin "came out" today? See what you're doing Adam? Spreading the love and light.

Didn't know about Ricky Martin's news, but if so glad he can be himself and hope Adam's light will give him courage. He's another wonderful entertainer that does so much for abused children. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. Glad that Adam can be himself. He doesn't have to be a poster boy, just live his life and let all know that being gay is just a part of the wonderful being that he is.Hope it will be televised, but doubt it.

Why does anybody need to 'come out' for anything? Why does anybody even care? Cripes.

Anyway, please vote for Adam in MTV's March Madness contest:

The Ricky Martin thing, that's not news either. I saw him in Atl 10 yrs. ago and everybody knew it then. Too bad he didn't think he could still be an amazing artist and own his identity at the same time. He should be poised to make a comeback as well as a more mature performer. He has "it" too.

Yeah.....the Ricky Martin story just makes me realize just how brave Adam was in making his announcement at the very beginning of his career. It has given him grief in this homophobic country, and he knew that he would be up against a lot of unfair hatred, but he was true to himself anyway and basically said hey....this is part of the package....love it or leave it alone. Mighty brave young man......hopefully people's sexuality won't even be a topic in the future.......who cares who they love?? We just want everyone to feel the joy of sweet love.

So true. I love Adam more and understand what he is about mure each day. I didn't know Ricky was gay. Note it mattats to me that he is. I love his music regardless. I do think that it has A LOT to do with Adam. Moe can see that being true to yourself is the ultimate key to hapinness. Like Adam said: fame is an illussion. Listen to this him. For his young age he hs
as a lot of smats. He knows what he is saying and doing.
Adam is IT !!! I love him and I know why!
