'New York Post' reviews Adam Lambert Concert

Adam Lambert dresses like a nightmare, sings like a dream

Although he's dressed a bit like my great aunt Eunice after she has one too many Manhattans and plays "Liza" in her closet, Adam Lambert blew the roof off Indio California's Fantasy Springs Resort & Casino over the weekend. And thankfully, his loyal legion of Glamberts has popped a bunch of the performances up on them there interwebbies.

Despite giving him much grief over the past few months for some shaky live performances, it's refreshing to see the immensely talented singer thrive in his natural habitat -- the confines of a club. Free to riff, gyrate and dress however he'd like obviously puts Adam at ease, and the results drip all over his honey-soaked vocals.

Below are the two performances -- "Broken Open" and a looooong rendition of "Whole Lotta Love" -- that have me dying to pile on the black Kohl liner and sing along from the front row.

Which shaky live performances is she referring to? I haven't seen anything but rave reviews for his live events. He can dress any way he wants to as long as he's having fun and singing like the rock god he is! I think he really let loose at Indio- probably was great for him to finally play a show that was just his. He'd have to know all those people came just for him and they'd love him no matter what he wore! You gotta be a hot man to rock some feathers and lord knows that Adam is one hot man! Heard there may be a DVD of the concert released? hoping for some great mp3's- he sounds so amazing live and I love how he rocks these songs out
Can't wait till he comes to the East coast! The Norva in Norfolk Virgina would be a great venue for him to play. Going to see him live as soon as he comes anywhere near me!
Adamazed in NC :)

no, to Anon #1! what do u mean, it covers it perfectly? he did not research on his report!

yes, to Anon#2: FS is not a club; it was 3500 sold out tickets. It's only the AMA's not all perfs. He's wearing Indian theme bec it was in Indio per his comment in one of his perf videos - IIHU, I think; even them, it was an awesome atire - we dig it.

NYpost just using Adam's name, so we could click on their site.

OMG! That WLL was it for me! I saw the fast version in ATL, but that was like ear sex on a whole new frequency. A little channeling Jim Morrison during this didn't hurt, but that was all Adam and he was naked in my head. Praise the Lort!!!

Thank The Universe;) that this blog gives us a WHOLE LOTTA LAMBERT!

What shaky live performances? I must've missed em. It wasn't a club, and the attire with feathers represents the Indian culture of the area. He's a performer!!! Otherwise, pretty good article.

The "shaky " performance refers to the AMA's.

OMRG shot the concert with a professional camera and is preparing a "Rocumentary" as he got to meet Monte, Longeneau and Tommy. Was invited by Monte to the VIP area. Will take about a week to produce.

that was the WORST adaptation of Whole Lotta Love......but good vocals

That version of WLL is an instant classic....no one is doing what Adam is doing....no one can do what he is doing! His original spin on everything is his signature...he is over the top talented and a hell of a nice guy...We should thank the universe everyday for a TREASURE named Adam Lambert....Lisa

That version of WLL my friends, was foreplay music! Bring out the lava lamp, black light posters, bead curtain, candles, patchouli massage oil, floor pillows, your favorite beverage, and of course Adam..... and there you have it.

Luv, luv, luv WLL. Just wish I could have been there to see that performance. Pure Genius!! and I thought his clothes were great for him and the location. Did Post want him to wear a suit and tie? Come on guys. Adam's only shaky performance was AMA, and it wasn't the sexuality of it, it was his voice. He has admitted he wished he had done a better job of singing. Every other performance (and I've seen or heard 'em all has been spot on.) Oh well, newspapers rarely tell the truth do they? At least the review was overall positive. I hope to see Adam at one of these small venues. Seems as if that's where he's most comfortable.

Wow. Let me say that again: wow. Those two songs were the most sensual things I have ever heard!! Ear sex is a great description. I'm all sweaty and flustered now! And no, I do not like his outfit at all, but that didn't detract from the beauty that is ADAM!!
