Also, wanna tell you, ladies, about conspiracy! It was great article about Adam at Metrodown yesterday. I think I already mentionend it once. Editor was slightly hard on Adam, but he tried to analyze Adam carrier from after AI time. Anyway, he wrote that Adam works very hard, he is big international star but he still not so famous in US. But, like he said, Adam time is coming. Also, this guy wrote that Adam needs new manager who will work harder to promote Adam! because he doesn't appear on public and internet articles(except Examiner) so often as Justin B or Katy Perry who are not talented as Adam but people can see these "stars" everywhere!
Anyway, this article was blocked sience yesterday afternoon! This is deff seems as conspiracy against Adam!

I totally agree that his A&R aren't doing such a great job of promoting him. It's either he himself doing such hard work to promote himself and his fans. His A&R are making tons of money off of him and they are doing such a shitty job of promoting this MEGA TALENTED ARTIST.

I agree with all the comments regarding the poor job that is being done by Adam's management team (or whomever is responsible for promoting his releases.) I also agree that his primary releases should have been Sleepwalker, Can't Let You Go and Soaked! Hope they do a better job on his next abum!

OMG Adam is such an amazing performer! Sleepwalker has always been one of my top favs on the FYE CD! The emotion that Adam shows plus the unbelievable vocals are breathtaking! I hope this video manages to find its way to some of the music video channels because it's going to blow everyone away! I so loved Adam's Sleepwalker on Jay Leno's show but this really surpasses that performance in my opinion. Congratulations, Adam, for being the SuperStar that you are.

CT-Remember Jay Leno loving Sleepwalker and telling Adam that it should be his next single. Then IIHY was released, which was fine, but Sleepwalker should be released now. How I wish!

I love Sleepwalker. There are lots of video on Youtube to watch also. The cd will only be extra for me.

Facts I have come to, at times, accept:
1. If management pushes Adam exposure too much, the industry reacts to the discomfort with him in the USA and shun him. He is so black balled for god knows what senseless, fucked up reason, they have to be careful and I'm sure RCA is more frustrated than we are!!
2. I will be surprised if any singer signs up to do a duet with him - NO ONE would be able to go toe to toe with his vocals. He would probably tone it down so the other person won't feel bad. I think he did that at times, on AIdol.
3. Can you imagine being a kid on Amer. Idol. this year, struggling to be unique, strong and memorable and then Adam Lambert comes on and sings Sleepwalker - like he did above!! It could knock their confidence a bit. 99% of us could work and train and record and compete for the next 20 years and not come anywhere close to what he sounds (and looks) like and I think most people know that so he is a threat. Easier to laugh and sneer at a threat then to meet it head on and make friends.
4. I have blogged this one before - if Adam becomes recognized and appreciated in the way that we know he should be, it will be the BIGGEST story of struggle, graciousness, perseverance and smart moves on the road to stardom, ever!!
6. If I were one of only 2 fans in the whole world who felt about him as we all do, or if I were one of 100 million, It would not make a 'pickles bit of difference in how I feel. The wishes of fame and fortune are for him - as long as they bring him happiness and peace.

Ditto on your opinions (don't we wish)....Not that I know anything about the music biz, but I think the non-Idol out there watchers would have fallen instantly and irrevocably in love with Adam if he had sung his GNT version of Sleepwalker as his first single at the AMA's, although lots of water under the bridge at this point, and pure dreaming and speculation on my part..and obviously a little wishful thinking. Probably wouldn't have had quite the "impact" that FYE had, but also might have given Adam a more positive image in the eyes of this country... He said he realized his FYE performance maybe "wasn't the best first or second introduction to the general public other than Idol"..I know everyone has an opinion, and can debate it to death here and on other blogs, forums,etc., but I think in hindsight it would perhaps have made make sense. It is what it is at this point. On the one hand, Adam became instantly infamous overnight with his much discussed performance of FYE, but also polarized fans and the general public, brought the wrath of of many groups upon him, had network performances cancelled, and he has suffered the consequences to a certain degree ever since. Not all bad of course, and he has had major success (The GNT, the Grammy nomination, which is fabulous), mainly because of his extremely hard work ,and his undeniable talent, his charisma, and his fans. Many radio stations wouldn't play his music...just sad. I am also guessing that could explain his label's seeming reluctance to promote him as much as we would have liked, which forced Adam to be his own best promoter, along with the loyal fans that stuck with him the last two years. We have had no new single since last summer and with no new single on the horizon, as far as we know, until at least next summer...Just seems to be perhaps calculated to let things settle down, and they will be introducing the "new Adam" to the world, and especially the US, with the new album...And yes, I remember Jay Leno's enthusiasm after Adam's performance of Sleepwalker. A co-worker saw Adam perform it and she absolutely loved it..said it was her favorite performance of those she had seen, and she had seen at least one each of FYE, WWFM, IIHY, and Strut (on Ellen). So who knows, what would have happened...but its too bad Sleepwalker was held back from public view for the most part. His public performances give us goosebumps..perhaps the single would do that as well. So looking forward to whatever happens next.....

My husband does NOT like adam (I of course love him)fights (that's for another thread lol) he thinks his mangement is doing it perfectly, even though my husband doesn't like adam he knows he's going to be huge and thinks his label knows this also and are supressing him so he's not a burn out like all the others (bieber, perry ,ect) they know what they have and want to market him accordingly. It's called supply and demand it sells over the long haul. They know they have a rare gem on thier hands and maybe they just don't want to expose it too fast ?? Not sure, but hubbys pretty smart.

I also think Sleepwalker should have been released in US with plenty of tv exposure. Adam is such a visual performer and after seeing him sing,you can't help remembering the image when hearing it on a cd. I've ordred the dvd/cd,and I know the sound will be the best, but have to say, Suz526 has taken better videos with amazing closeups of that fabulous face. The shaved head also did nothing for him [JMO]and wish it wasn't in the videos, but I'm glad I ordered it and hope many will buy it. It's a great memento to have on a hard copy and those that were unable to see the GNT will also enjoy it and have a wonderful keepsake of this historic tour. It was the best and it's going to be hard to top. It definitely wasn't your run of the mill concert. What an entrance he made at the top of the stairs! Still remember the air being sucked out of the room and those magnificent long legs. He really has a creative vision and can't wait to see what he'll do next! I read on the FB fan club site that a video is coming out June 11th and there was an ad for a choreographer and dancers. It's supposed to take place in New Orleans. Adam said no cd until fall, so I have questions if this is legitimate unless Brooke and glamily dancers are unavailable. funbunn40

ZZ I agree it will take time, but Adam will make it, but have to disagree about AMA.So many people I have mentioned Adam to have all said they thought he was great on Idol, but after the AMAs had any interest.I gave them my best argument butthey also were offended with Adam giving the finger at the end and took it to mean that's what he thought of the audience. These aren't my views, but what I've personally encountered. Sad as it is and not really fair, after all of this time and what Adam has achieved. In the end, I think Adam can turn it around. I'm one of the many who think the AMA performance hurt Adam's career. There were an awful lot of people who did not watch Idol and the AMA show was their first and last sight of him. I know a lot of people who dismiss him as the guy who did the sleazy performance and did not care for his voice (even Adam admits it wasn't his best).

I don't believe the old adage "there's no such thing as bad publicity." I think that show was very detrimental to album sales.

He needs more positive exposure like he got on Leno,Letterman,Regis and Kelly, The View, etc. We know how charming and witty he is, but he has to stay visible to gain new converts.JAK

@funbunn40, the AMA's gave Adam the exposure to the world. People in America who prefer the "Idol Adam" are the ones inside the idol bubble. Think about the people who don't like Idol. Those are the people who Adam and his management are targeting at the moment. If he is able to shake the idol stigma off, which I believe it has already started since his grammy nominations, he will be conquering the whole universe.

Delilah5, You are not a Troll, we all have our opinions. Although you believe that the AMA's has hurt Adam, I personally believe that it has worked miracles for him. At this day and age, controversy is the best marketing technique. His AMA's performance followed by the fall out was the hot news the next morning all over the world. All the millions casual fans he gained never knew the "Idol Adam", the AMA's introduced them to this fantastic artist. Try to see the bigger picture here. Also think of the equal rights, he is the first to step on that stage and face the double standard in this so called "FREE" country. Althought they tried to supress him, he didn't back down, instead he stood his ground and exposed how closed minded our society is. The guy is a trail blazer. You have no idea how huge and crucial the revolution he started is. I believe with all my heart that Adam's time will come soon. And I do believe that his management are doing the right thing.

@ZZ I already wrote about this. 70% of my co-workes know Adam and most of them never watch AI. My boss coudn't wait when FYE will released and planned to buy few CD's for his family for Christmas. After AMA I was only person in the office who bought FYE. Yes, this is just small office, actually there are 159 people in my office:) Most of these people conservative and most of them still remember Adam but they have different reaction when I mention Adam's name.
And one more comment. Adam is 29 years old. Most of the artists started their carrier when there are much younger than Adam. He is certanly young boy for us:) My son is just 2 years younger than Adam:)
But I am sure a lot of things are gonna change for Adam now after Grammys. We love him and always will support him.

This video is great but I prefer Sleepwalker in a more rugged version (more aggresive in the vocal area). don't mean to diss anybody but these Finnish fans are so dead. they just stand there like nothing's happening.how can you stand still during Sleepwalker?! I don't get it. The crowd here irritated me. The concerts I went to in Germany and England were a lot livelier audience wise.Adam come to Poland next time and we'll show you how to rock it!

Sorry, I'm kind of late but wanna let you know that I AM WITH YOU in this fucking AMA's matter. Please don't ask me for my reasons, I'd better take yours. But I've always had «a feeling» that at the end of this story, time will present this «bad AMA's charpter» as kind of the right key for the HAPPY END door. I've lived enough to firmly believe that the Universe works quietly and misteriously... at times.

I think the AMA performance probably helped Adam overseas. I think many Europeans especially hadn't seen AI, and heard of the negative press, saw the headlines re the AMAs and decided to look Adam up. So many people on his overseas promo tour said they couldn't see what the problem was. So although I think that performance hurt Adam (I actually liked it apart from the fall, and the singing wasn't his bed, but i liked the staging), it only hurt him in the US.

You can´t hear the audience in these professional videos. I think that´s a shame in a way, but the sound and the music is the important thing. I hope that the audience will have a part in IIHY or else it will look rather strange. By the way, Finnish fans were not "dead" as we have seen in previous video. I´m with you too. There were not just negative reactions after AMA. Some said that Adam was a genius. It would have been better if he had sung well, but the sound was off, not his fault.
He made a mark, which he wouldn´t have done with SW or WWFM. He had his own successful tour, national and international for Gods sake, so don´t accuse him of failing. He´s doing it HIS way. I just read somewhere that Adam does not fit mainstream. He changes mainstream to fit him.

Adam few times on his interviews said he is looking for longevity. I too agree with some of you that AMA probably wouldn't have been a bad thing for Adam in the long-run.

I was talking to my husband about Steven Tyler and he said during 70s Steven Tyler wasn't as famous as Mick Jagger, Led Zepplin, Rod Stewarts, and other rock stars of the 70s. His name was out there but he wasn't in the scene as much as the others. Look at Steven Tyler now after four decades. He is doing fantastic. With his talent, great look, and having bunch of hits, he is in the same star ranking as the other artists of the 70s.

Adam has great look, incredible voice, and he is a hard worker and I think he will be in the show business for a long time.

By the way I watch AI just to see what Steven Tyler is wearing. I love all of his outfits and I think Adam should watch AI just to get inspiration from Steven Tyler outfits and looks. He is 62 years old and he wears some crazy, gorgeous pieces of clothing. I wish AI could post who are Steven's designers.

Since AMA will be discussed forever and I did some research at that time. This is what I think:

FYE is rejected by major US radio one week before AMA, AMA has nothing to do with Adam being black balled by those music industry suits whatever at that time, it is his sexuality. AMA come up, all this, some were impulsive and some were direct anguish towards those suits, never forget the last finger scene and his face. Then everything was doomed and he was forced to headliner his tour and I don't think he has any choice if he still wanted to play. AMA will never go away and I do believe there is a reason behind this.
He is now doing super excellent and looking forward more Adam in the future around the globe.

I guess the AMA performance can be debated forever. It did get people talking though. I do feel Adam is going to be huge, huge ,huge and around for a long time.His voice, captivating performances, charisma, personality and good looks are undeniable. He has determination and a great work ethic and not many artists do so well internationally as Adam has. The U.S. will wake up and realize what a talent we have.

Well, I sure didn't want to stir things up! For the record, I absolutely agree that the AMA performance will not hurt Adam in the long run,and all of my family watched it and didn't think it was that big a deal, although his singing was off, which was unfortunate. Several people who watched it that I knew and who didn't know him from Idol wondered why people were raving about his amazing voice because they didn't hear it. My husband thought all of the choreography just made it hard to concentrate and Eber Lambert said adrenaline took over to produce the worst vocal performance he had ever heard from Adam,plus the unrehearsed parts. I'm sorry if anyone got the impression that I did not like his performance or support his decision to stand behind his performance. I WAS afraid for him in the days following and furious at the decisions made by the network to effectively ban him. I also wrote to various major news sources defending his right to express himself. One columnist suggested Adam was leading us to the downfall of civilization,which I and many others, including brother Neil, responded to. My point, which I apparently failed to convey was that Sleepwalker is a beautiful and at the same time fierce song which might have been a better showcase for his voice. Everything shown by the American media immediately after the AMA's was sensationalized to show only the so-called "raunchy" aspects of his performance and also ignored any of the other performers similar performances,which was clear discrimination. So it is also clear to me that Glam Nation tour was at least arepsonse to the backlash and look what a fabulous and amazing show that turned out to be. Adam IS a genious in many ways. Everything happens for a reason. I also get that internationally, the AMA's brought Adam fame much sooner than he might have otherwise. But I also believe that it did make Adam's career stall a bit in the short term here. I am a huge supporterof Adam's and would not suggest he limit his artistic expression for the sake of not offending anyone, because he has said he knows he can't please everyone and isn't trying to. What I really am waiting impatiently for is the opportunity for Adam to give those who have not had the chance to see him as the wonderful singer,entertainer and fabulous human being that we here know him to be,because the AMA's did turn many off to even giving him a chance, even if they didn't persoally see it...and the gesture to the audience at the end,which we know now was not directed at them but at some other things left the audience very subdued and not sure what to think. ,. His Grammy nomination was proof to me that those in the music industry are ready to move on and also do recognise his talent. I think his new album will be fabulous and will be very well promoted,because his label is well aware that they have a superstar on their hands. Now if we can just get his music out and listened to.....sorry again for not stating myself more clearly..and to make things worse, am having to write this on my phone, as I am out of town with limited computer access. Hope this makes sense as a result. I think everone above had some really good points and I appepreciate hearing everyone's thoughts.

Ib - smart hubby!! Thanks for the hopeful words. I had three people call me after the Grams. to comment on how wonderful, polished and sexy he looked on the red carpet. These are 3 people who quietly stopped bringing up my obsession as a subject for conversation after the AMA's. I just keep going back to what Adam said in the multitude of interviews .... he was over hyped to not only do well but to dazzle, the vocals were...well, I won't use his word, but certainly not pure and strong. He FELL and said that after that, he does not even know how he got to the end of the song and the finger, his immediate reaction was, "oh shit - what did I do?" Of course, no regrets - what good would that do? He has moved on, blamed no one, nurtured a graciousness and stamina that is unflawed, (except for one, spirited, hot, Florida afternoon of taunting paps.)

OK, first, the ama performance, I just laughed & thought, he either boosted his career to the stars or he boosted his career to HELL! LOL!
but anyways, I thought it was all theater!!!You listen to the words of the song, he's a devilish like master in control of everyone, pain or pleasure, his singing reminded me of that character,so I'm wondering what if, after being in character for so long on stages, that he just subconciously sang like the character he was supposed to be?. But that's how I interpreted the performance & I loved it! & laughed of course. Sorry fans, but he's a big frog in a small puddle. He is not widely known in this country, nor is his music. Personally I think it's a shame, he's quite talented. But I think it's slow going for him. I wish he'd tried out for Idol in his early 20's the radio play market is for very young. He's practically unknown among my fellow workers at this large city hospital.

I'm hoping his new album is a killer so he'll have to be played more widely.
