Oh dear, that was not very good. However, the good news is that this is one more singing competition that's using Adam's music! Just think of all the people who will be using his music after album #2!

well I've heard worse voices on Idol, if he'd have sung it normally it wouldn't have sounded too bad but his arrangement sucked big time!!!

Oh,Lord, this guy should have tried an easier song if he was determined to sing one of Adam's.It wasn't good, but @ least he tried.

I must admit i got a little excited with this one because Aftermath is my favorite but sadly it was a mess. I feel sorry for him because he lacks the vocals to pull it off. But one thing for sure this boy has guts and certainly an excellent taste for music. And i agree that at least he tried.

What is important is the free publicity that Adam gets whenever his songs are used in shows like this.

@Eva where are you? What did the judges say to him?

Anonymous said...

I'm not surprised the judges had to contain their laughter. It was not good at all but he gave it a go.

Anonymous said...

Oh. . . goodness me. . . Adam will get a chuckle out of this one. . .

Very brave of him to sing Adam's song, not an easy job.

OMG that was bad! LOL! If the guy hadn´t said what he was going to sing I wouldn´t have guessed it was Aftermath. When he told them it was as song by Adam Lambert the judge sait "Wow, Adam Lambert, you put on a big cap (that´s big shoes to fill)". After he "sang" the other judge compaired him to a fire alarm. They weren´t impressed :D

Poor guy for trying to rock it out.....

Better luck next time dude????

It might have worked better if he didn't change the whole tune of Aftermath. He wanted to do his own version. Maybe the judges could have asked him to sing it in the actual melody and with more emotion. He looked quite cute and probably Adam might have liked that, I mean the look; complete respect to Sauli. :)

Yea, Eva, this contestant is very good and she is real pretty. I don't know this song but I could hear it is quite difficult to sing. Do you think she has a chance in the Top 12? I have no idea what the Swedish Idol standard is like. :)

@Lam my

I guess she could make it to top 12. She is very young so perhaps she can´t take the pressure, you´ll never know. The song is from JessieJ, one of my favourites. Here´s the song from YouTube:

Thanks Eva, what a wonderful voice and a very humble, personable, down-to-earth beautiful singer...JessieJ. You always send me excellent videos; remember Adam...I Will Follow Him, I still watch it occasionally. :)

that guy would have done better not doing Aftermath, that is a hard song to do. He was doing the studio version and that is wild. Love that Adam's song used though.I think they played a few bars of it at the end.

Off Topic, but here is a little bit of interesting news: another fashion-related show that Adam will be a guest judge!

"Sundance Channel Orders Second Season of Fashion Rehab Show 'All on the Line'"

"Nicole Miller is among the designers who will submit to a top-to-bottom makeover with Elle creative director Joe Zee.

Sundance Channel [Cable]has announced a second season of fashion rehab show All on the Line. And this time Nicole Miller is among the designers who submit to the top-to-bottom audit from Elle creative director and series star Joe Zee.
The second season also will feature even more boldface names and friends of Zee who help judge the designers’ progress. They include American designer Rachel Roy, American Idol finalist ADAM LAMBERT, Mark Badgley and James Mischka of Badgley Mishcka and model Veronica Webb.
The show received positive reviews in season one, with Zee in particular earning accolades for his TV-ready persona.
“The fashion crowd lapped it,” says Sarah Barnett, executive vp and general manager of Sundance Channel. “But what appeals to people is essentially the struggle, which is a human struggle.”
Sundance has ordered six one-hour episodes of AOTL, which will bow Nov. 18. Viewers will see Zee’s influence on Miller’s spring 2012 collection, which last week was unveiled at New York Fashion Week. Other designers who will submit to Zee’s discerning eye this season include: plus-size label Qristyl Fraizer Design; Kathy and Eric Wilson’s Kathy Wilson Atelier; South African designer Angelo Lambrou; Aysha Saeed; and Cesar Galindo’s Czar."

The rest of the article here: More exposure for Adam!

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/sundance-channel-orders-second-season-235438

For those not familiar with The Sundance Channel, it was originally started by respected actor Robert Redford, CBS, and Showtime.

From Wikipedia: "Sundance Channel is an American cable television network devoted to airing independent feature films, world cinema, documentaries, short films, and original programs, such as news about the latest developments from each year's Sundance Film Festival."

With some vocal lessons, the guy could be good. Thanks@Eva, liked the girl, very good. But can she be original? I didn't like Jessie J at first but I really like her now. She's on all my playlists. Mwah!! K

Anonymous said...

@glitzlady, it does seem Adam is going to be real busy up thru the holidays , huh? More exposure, yes!! It sounds as if these are events that Adam has interest in doing, here I go ordering Showtime channels ! I'll cancel after Adam has made his appearance though. Sending thanks to all you wonderful & resourceful Glamberts!! Mwah!! K

Yea glitzylady, good news, Adam is making waves in the fashion world, soon it'll be a tsunami. Actually, Adam can create a fashion/runway show of his own. He can be the judge, the model...oooh lala and the director/producer all rolled in one. It might happen. He is a multi-faceted genius of an artist! Can sing on the runway too! I notice now they don't refer to him as runner-up...sickening tag.
Yea, Robert Redford, the Sundance Kid. I remember watching a couple of his western cowboy movies; a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then.

Just watch the Queen medley done by this girl in American got Talent Final on Ytube, it was bad, this Aftermath contestant may be better, I don't know. They all need to invite Adam to show them what is talent! Yikes!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Did anyone watch Husbands. I missed it. Can we watch it anywhere else?

Anonymous said...

If the contestant hadn't said he was going to sing Aftermath, I never would've believed that this is the wonderful song that Adam sings.

Not good at all.

Anonymous said...

Leave it to The Master to sing The Master's songs. :)

Adam is the only singer who can do justice to his songs. <3

I love that Adam's songs are being performed on talent shows all over the world. It's really a huge compliment to Adam.

And YAY! for Adam's appearance on another tv show! It's great for fans (we get to see him more) but most importantly it's positive publicity for Adam. Good news! :)

Anonymous said...

Is there a new vid from Ravi and Tommy?

Anonymous said...

Peeps, you all do know that some of the contestants appearing before the judges at audition time are for comic relief.

There are thousand that try out and only the good ones appear before the judges to decide if they will be in the show. But,there are always some that get through to amuse the tv audience.

Anonymous said...

So much the Aftermath attempt. Oh well. As for the Fashion Rehab show, I think it's great that Adam is on it! Joe Zee is BIG in the fashion biz. I can visualize Adam getting more involved in the fashion thing, along with his music. He loves both. Can't wait to see him on this show. Hope I get the channel.

I think Adam adapts to whatever music is thrown in front of him , like it was nothing. Or that maybe music adapts to Adam, either way, Adam is music!
I think that may be why his music is difficult to sing , not all just a majority of it. Not all artists can do this, can we include rap ?, maybe not . If Adam collab with a rapper, it would have to be Missy Elliot, he likes her! So totally opposite of most rap / singer collabs. Mwah!! K

Adam is such a unique talent. first of course the voice!!But he is a true artist in every sense of the word. He can do well in fashion, as a guest host on a talk show , maybe acting one day. Not many people have all these talents. We are so lucky to have Adam in our lives and watch all the wonderful projects he will bring us!Love to see other people sing his songs even if they are not that good. Of course no one can come close to Adam.

Anonymous said...

C'mon guys, that was a tongue-in-cheek performance.lol
Did you really think he was serious?

Sauli is also interested in fashion. He has said that he wanted to be a stylist, and he has actually modeled. Adam and Sauli have so many things of common interest At some point they may be able to work together.

so cool, I just went to give WWFM mv a view and it had an advertisement of Majors and Minors with Adam in it. He said "you guys sound great". Adam looked and sounded great also. Can't wait for this to air on TV.

Anonymous said...

Did that MTV Playground program come on like they advertised?

The Dark Side said...

This was done so badly, no wonder the judges couldn't keep straight faces. So bad, in fact could not determine if this guy could sing at all. Bad song choice. Those are big boots to fill.

This article on "Majors and Minors", mentions what Adam will be doing specifically: giving advice on Performing:

USA Today "Idol Chatter" : Excerpts from the article:

"Majors & Minors, The Hub's new reality competition for young performers, has already announced an impressive slate of guest mentors, including former American Idol singers Jordin Sparks and Adam Lambert."

"Adam, for instance, works with the contestants on performing, says vocal coach and in-house mentor Debra Byrd, who serves a similar function on Idol. "The kids are going through a choreography rehearsal, and Adam talks about how you present yourself."

More than 40,000 youngsters auditioned for the 12 spots on the show, which will guide the cast through various aspects of performing, from singing to songwriting to choreography. Though none of the kids will be "voted off" during the show, one will win a recording deal with the RCA Records and get the chance to be featured in a national concert tour.

For more about Majors & Minors, which premieres Sept. 23 on The Hub TV Network, visit the show's website.

Glitzylady Your knowledge of the music industry gives rise to this question: I know that Adam is paid when his songs are played on the radio or when someone covers a song he wrote as Nakia did on The Voice. Does he also get paid in a situation like the above audition because he wrote the song and it was televised even if it was only a few lines?

Anonymous said...

Oh my goodness, that was so awful. I felt bad for the lady judge. She could not contain heself. She made me laugh just like her.

Anonymous said...

OMG! That was terrible! Usually I support the singers who performes Adam's songs in Idols. But this guy was out of his mind when made the decision to sing Aftermath on addtions.
However, the good part is that EVERYBODY LOVE ADAM:) I am talking about judges:)

Just my opinion, I don't think he was a joke performer. He was trying to do what Adam does, and make the song his own, by changing it up. BUT he failed miserably, I think he was quite serious about it. It will be a mistake for anyone to try to make Adams songs their own. Adam did it on AI, but he knew how to do it.

glitzylady said...

Oh..well...um...he gave it a try but I'm assuming he didn't make it..Whether singing in Swedish or English, his voice just didn't work for that song..Perhaps tried a little too hard...Guessing he didn't make it to the next level.

@Shiggles
I would assume that if the show features songs, even parts of songs, regardless of whether the whole song was sung, Adam would get some writers credit royalties for the use of his song..being that it was on a TV show. Back at around the beginning of the year, he hired a company to keep track of the copyrighted music and to be sure that he got the royalties that are due him. (Can't remember the name of it tho...) But to tell you the truth I'm not 100% sure about this case...I know that when songs are performed on Idol in the US, they have to be "approved", meaning have artists permission to use them..(For instance when Adam sang "One" from U2/Bono, they had to get special permission, as well as Arrowsmith's "Whole Lotta Love", etc. because those songs were not approved and on the "list": see below) So good question: my guess is "Yes".

If you are truly interested, here's an article that explains in detail how all of this works..

"How Music Royalties Work"

An excerpt: As an example:

"The difficult thing to imagine in all of this is how these organizations track all of that music to get an accurate record of how much royalty money needs to be paid to which songwriters and publishers. Each of the PROs use a slightly different system for calculations; we'll use the ASCAP system as an example. ASCAP uses two methods for determining performances: it either counts them or does a sample survey.

For television performances, ASCAP depends on cue sheets that program producers provide them, as well as program schedules, network and station logs, and even tapes of the broadcasts. ASCAP developed its own computer program to help studios and program producers report performances."

OT, but did any of you see Jackie Evancho tonight on tv? Such perfection!!

Anonymous said...

Yes, I did, Jackie is good but very boring. I like the Team iLuminate act, sad to see them lost and Neil tweeted that they are family friend. :(

Anonymous said...

Jackie E kinda gives me the creeps, voice or not. Def not a fan.

Adamluv said...

@Glitz, I think Whole Lotta Love was a Led Zepellen song. ... Adamluv

Anonymous said...

FYI

Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin sang Whole Lotta Love and Adam sang Aerosmith's Cryin on Idol, a Steven Tyler song. Adam did a better job on WLL than Plant did!

@Adamluv
Oops! Sooo true! (Red face..)that's what I get for being in a hurry when writing! Family was waiting for me to go out to dinner..we'll blame them! Thanks for correcting!

@Anon 2:34 PM
Yes he did for sure! It's Adam's song now, as far as I'm concerned.. ; )

Glitzylady - Thanks for your answer to my question. I'm sure I speak for all of us who appreciate your knowledge and willingness to share it with us. You are definitely a lady with glitz.

Thanks again.

Anon @ 2:34 Adam also did a better job of Steven Tylers "Cryin" imo.

I found tears running down my face for Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. last night on AGT. What a rags to riches story that shows one should never give up their dream. He is another humble and nice man who finally won the prize. Loving the songs of Sinatra and Martin, I will be buying the first album he puts out. My daughter and her family live in Vegas so I hope to see him on stage someday as well.

glitzylady said...

@Shiggles
Aww! Thanks! : )

And I have to say, its even more embarrassing that I gave the wrong name of the band and singer who did the original "Whole Lotta Love" because (don't laugh...) my husband and I had the instrumental version of "Whole Lotta Love" (guitar and flute..) as the processional at our outdoor wedding...seemed appropriate at the time..and has a special place in my heart, for so many reasons..to just inexcusable to misname it!! Sheesh!
