ok Adam let's not give them anything more to exaggerate about until my shattered nerves are back together.Deal? BTW Adam's single gets better each time I listen to it.
A good tweet by Adam. He always takes responsibility for his actions. I'm sure this won't happen again and all will be fine. Can't wait for the New Year of great music from Adam!
Violence shouldn't be taken at ALL. I realize there was no violence in this case but still wanted to stress that. Ok, back to music, hopefully some tv appearances, a music video, concerts, etc:)
@8:39 The single will officially be added to AC stations Jan. 23 and top 40 stations Jan. 30th. Some stations like Q102 Philly have added it to their play list and you can request it on their site. I think a lot of radio play will begin Jan. and Feb. Adam will most likely start making rounds to T.V. shows. Please purchase the song on itunes if you haven't yet!
I don't get it. Some articles say they were punching each other and Adam was punching other people? Why would someone be arrested and kept 12 hrs if they were merely argueing?
Adam knows right from wrong and is properly embarrassed. This and Gaga's party were only two incidences where Adam got out of control. Think he's discovering his every move is scrutinized, including his off, personal time. Unfortunately, media senastionalizes and often incorrectly speculates. Glad all is well, but as usual, many nasty comments from the dull witted homophobes.
There still are conflicting stories of what really happened. Don't know if Adam was defending or fighting with Sauli. Hard to imagine Adam even pushing Sauli or vice versa. I'm also againt violence, but think the word is perhaps a little harsh for what actually happened. No injuries of any kind. I was raised to believe in "Brains, not brawn" and always though fist fighting never changed anyone's mind, just further impaired it!
It's not a "homophobe" thing. It's domestic violence, whether man to woman, man to man, or woman to woman. Brawling publicly in a bar because you're too FUBAR to act like an intelligent adult is not ok, no matter who you are. Would everyone be so forgiving if he had gotten into it with a female partner and got arrested? I doubt it, unless you figure, as long as he doesn't murder people, Adam can do no wrong (and there are those out there!) I think the two of them need to take a look at how they use their downtime and how they relate to each other. I am a true fan, but I don't belong to the "anything you do is ok" school.
Adam: fuck up, apologize. Again, fuck up, apologize. Repeat. Grow up guy, you're 30 now. Some people are raising 2 or 3 young children by that age. If Sauli was flirting with another guy, shame on him too. (after Adam had come all that way and given up being with his own family for the holidays) Glad to see they are making up
The pop music gods be praised! Adam Lambert has finally given us the lead single off of his next album! Adam's new single 'Better Than I Know Myself' is everything I could have asked for in a pop song. Stellar production, meaningful lyrics and a sweeping, synth-tastic instrumental make this a great lead single for his upcoming album 'Trespassing.' While this isn't nearly as uptempo as past singles, such as 'If I Had You' (my favorite from his last album), this song serves as a powerful electropop ballad that really shows off Adam's power-house vocals.
I will admit though, that I was a little hesitant about getting excited about this song when I heard that it was produced by superproducer Dr. Luke. In all honesty, I have never been a fan of Dr. Luke or most of the artists he produces music for. To put it bluntly, I think most of his work, while well produced, is disposable, lowest common demoninator, mainstream pop garbage that isn't worth my $1.29 on iTunes. While I might dislike Dr. Luke, I have to hand it to him with this track. It's infectious, well produced and has lasting quality, which is rare for a pop song to have these days.
When I first heard the snippet of the single a week or so ago I had the realization that I couldn't remember the last time I was excited about a single from a male pop act from the United States. This realization led me to examine the current male acts on the iTunes chart and see just how dismal the male pop scene has become. For the past year or two, male pop in the United States has mostly consisted mostly of hip hop/rap artists infusing rap with eurodance beats with more vocal features than one can imagine. Rappers spitting out the same old tired verses about cheap women, clubbing and popping bottles and usually some featured singer singing an auto-tuned chorus over a recycled, club ready beat. Or you'll find yet another whiny Bruno Mars song about heartbreak and explosives or whatever auto-tuned, generic mess LMFAO is subjecting us to this week. And don't get me started on Jason Derulo. Even now, as I'm writing this article, I'm scrolling down the iTunes singles chart and all there is for male acts is a few country singers, one or two rock star wannabes, and more rappers and hip hop singers dragging out the tired rap-meets-eurodance trend than I can stomach. I don't mean to sound like such a pop nihilist, but is this really all there is in the mainstream American pop scene?
It's definitely no secret that pop music is a female dominated genre, but is a talented, male pop star who isn't completely reliant on auto-tune and recycled lyrical concepts really too much to ask for? I can name tons of phenomenal European male pop acts that constantly amaze me and only one mainstream American: Adam Lambert. That is not to say that the States are completely devoid of good male pop acts, they're just extremely hard to find and rarely ever get the recognition they deserve. Adam Lambert might just be my last remaining hope for mainstream American male pop, and his sophomore album will undoubtedly put my faith in him to the test. However, I still remain confident that he'll blow me away once again.
To those concerned about Adam's safety in Helsinki.. According to a survey conducted by Mercer this year, Helsinki ranks number two among big cities around the world in personal safety. Of course this doesn't mean that you can't hurt yourself while in Helsinki. But hey, self-destructive behavior can be practised wherever you are..
Thank you Adam. You're right, the press makes a drama of all, always exaggerating. Not worry, be happy and make us happy with your voice and your music. Your fans are with you, welove you and support you.
So Adam had to tweet this to calm down the concerned fans. Why can't you trust the Finnish police. If there had been violence they would have told about it in their statement.
If the "moms" worry about Adam, it's their problem. I think Adam should not have to worry about the "moms" who are not his real mom. I can't imagine Adam and Sauli having a holiday in Finland and not going out to party. Finns party a lot with friends and colleagues before Christmas and sometimes shit happens.
I think Adam is fine here in Finland. He can stay out of public eye if he want's to, or then not.
In the e, bothnd of the day, we mostly like or love him, made his BTIKM no1 in iTunes and have kept it there.
And the incident was not so big in finnish scale after it became obvious by police, that no real violence was involved.
If relationship with Sauli will continue, it is also important for future, that he gets things, both public and private, sorted out here and can feel comfortable to come again. This will anyhow stay as a home-country for Sauli.
Sure Adam messed up and apologized. But at this point in his career, he doesn't need this kind of publicity. References to Chris Brown, Christina A and their blow-ups,etc(in other posts)happened when they were established performers having sold millions and living very well. They could sit back, let it all die down and then get back into the music scene again.(Look, Christina even became a mentor/judge on the Voice)/ Adam is just at the beginning stages of his musical career and will undoubtedly achieve fame and success with this sophomore album. So he doesn't need any kind of negative publicity to give all the naysayers and critics out there something to add to the fire I have been a fan since day one of AI, and was somewhat disheartened by the initial stories I read. I am sure most of it was blown out of proportion, but still something did happen and if alcohol and jealousy were at the root of it, both Adam and Sauli need to step back and take a look at this relationship and their lifestyles if it is going to add any negativity to Adam's career. As fans, we care about Adam's safety and well-being and want only the best for him. He is the best vocal talent in the music business today and is on the verge of superstardom with this next album according to all those who have heard it. Love his new single and can't wait for the promo tour to begin along with seeing the video for the song.
@12:05- I completely agree with 150%. I listened all day on a variety of stations to see if adam's song would be played (NO) I finally got such a headache and was so disgusted with what they call music today- had to shut it off!!! Back to my cd's.
Adam should be home with his parents and people who have loved him way before the fame. He better not forget where he has came from, or he will be in big trouble. Alot of artists let fake people surround them and forget the real ones. He will figure it all out in time!
Some thoughts (now that I've recovered from the events of yesterday...): I don't believe Adam's tweet, which I am very glad he did, by the way, (@Anon 1:31 AM) was in response just to the "worried fans", or the "worried Moms", (as they were called by @Anon 1:54 AM, etc..), at all. I'm sure he was reading/seeing the same reports from various media outlets that picked up on his (his own admission) embarrassing and regrettable incident in Helsinki and subsequently had a "field day" with it, embellishing it to sound as if it was worse that it was, to include "beating up" (FOX news) his partner Sauli. (Which the police concluded he did not..there was no physical violence, just wrestling apparently..and it takes two to tango..two grown men who were acting like little naughty boys with the loss of common sense, a side result of being drunker than drunk.) There is usually no real mention of Sauli's active involvement, just Adam's, and they are quite accusatory and often make Adam seem like an aggressive, dangerous, crazed man who was hitting everyone within his reach (NOT)..
Let me be VERY clear: I think it was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do, getting shit-faced drunk and acting like that..but ALSO let me be clear, I've done a few equally very stupid and irresponsible things myself (not telling, BTW..) ..I'm just not an internationally known super-star. So Adam had to make a statement to address the over-blown, exaggerated articles out there in media-land, AND to at the same time, address his disappointment in his own drunken behavior. Fortunately, his tweet has been picked up and is being reported as well. But I suspect that not every gossip site will publish this information or the information that was officially put out by the Helsinki police to reflect the non-violent nature of the incident. They were drunk and having a too-public and very loud argument with "drunk wrestling" involved, which while also stupid, involves two people. They ended up being arrested and thrown into the 'drunk tank", apparently the local way of dealing with public drunkenness there, in order to sober them up and let the police have time to sort out what happened, and then get their sides of the story, once they were sober. You can't interview someone when they're sloppy drunk. There were all sorts of false stories coming out of Finland, sent out by the media, but eventually the actual facts of the story came out, which were sometimes conveniently overlooked in favor of the more "shocking" and dramatic. In light of the actual facts of the story, Adam had to try to let people know what the truth was, which was humiliating enough. His first tweet (with the math equations) was really funny but taken by some to mean he didn't appreciate the seriousness of the situation and the potential damage to his career of this arrest. Later, he obviously realized he needed to take it more seriously.
Sorry, this is going to be a two parter!! : ) End Part One...
As a fan who has been there since day 1, who appreciates the man that Adam is, a talented singer, entertainer, kind and compassionate, generous, loving, loyal to his friends, but at the same time he is someone who grew up with a "secret", with other insecurities, those things which we all carry with us into adulthood, and are never far under the surface, I realize that Adam is not "perfect" and without fault, just like none of us are. Those insecurities and old fears surface from time to time, sometimes in the form of unfortunate behavior. I don't always support or agree with everything he has ever said or done, and that is really none of my business anyway; he's a grown man and makes his own decisions. For me, the important thing is that he owns his choices, and can admit when he's made a mistake, and hopefully will try to avoid making that mistake again. I think that 99% of the time he lives and conducts his life in an honest and admirable way. This incident is regrettable, but far from fatal to his career or apparently, at least for now, his relationship with Sauli, who shares the blame I would suspect. They were seen in Helsinki earlier today, having lunch at the place they had their argument and apparently being affectionate, and even more telling, were welcomed back. I suspect they made some apologies for their behavior.
We all need to move on, support Adam and his career, and hope that in the future they both are a little more discrete in their behavior, for both of their sakes. They are both good men and deserve to be happy and to be in safe and loving relationships. I would suspect this was a very "sobering" lesson for both of them. We all have lessons to be learned in our lives, and just because they are "adults" doesn't mean they don't have many more things to learn..I'm a fair amount of years older than they are and I'm still learning and will continue to do so, I would suspect (I would hope). I for one am not going to give up on Adam just because he's "human". In fact, I like that about him. May he stay that way. He continues to have my respect and admiration.
I just want to amend one thing I said at the beginning of my comments at 11:39 AM..I do believe his tweet was to the fans as well, and not just to the "worried fans" and "worried Moms" but ALSO in response to media reports..Left that part out.. : )
Thank you SO much for you comment. I hope everyone here read it CAREFULLY and FINALLY understand the whole thing, so we all can move on and come back to have fun around here!!:))

@11.15 Your right Adam is a 'big boy'... a man! and somehow people want to treat him like a teenager.
I reckon the US go into panic mode.
Why, I have no idea. They need to take a lesson from the rest of the world.

two grown men wrestling on the ground should be embarrassing! esp. in public for all to see! get a hotel!
Even if they were on the ground wrestling in public, Adam says his private life is private! aren't bad boys suppose to get arrested?
