Wow, Adam is placed in the same league as the superstars featured in this 'Shades of Elvis' book...a statement in itself. I feel the Elvis vibe in the blues song on this video clip. I lived through the Elvis era. Now looking back, I think I was way too occupied with my work to be caught on to Elvis the way I have now with Adam. Having said that, at that time, I was more into pop songs with melody/harmony like the Everly Brothers, Four Seasons, Connie Francis, The Lettermen, Louis Armstrong, John Denver (later), Annie's Song still a current favourite of mine, Platters, with favourites, like Only You, Great Pretender...all aforementioned have clear beautiful voices, and others. And I guess that has led me to love Adam's singing so much. Okay back to the Elvis Book, very artistically and tastefully done, A*. Now when I look back at Elvis' songs, yes, he was a forerunner, ahead of his time! And for Adam to be associated in any way with Elvis is indeed an honour.

Elvis was very very popular with the Sing teenagers and young people of the 60's, who loved rock-n-roll. I remember some Ah Bengs (Sing term for the lesser educated, though intelligent with zest for life), started calling themselves Elvis Tan or Elvis Lim...and the snobbies with higher education would scoff because they saw nothing in them with even a tinge of Elvis resemblance. lol! Oh, my rather square-looking sister-in-law likes Elvis to this day. That really took me by surprise! judging from her dowdy appearance; she's more like Ah Soe or Auntie as we call them in our local context.

5:26, I've had the same reaction as you when I see someone with Adam. The other person is often very attractive but Adam just seem to outshine everyone. I also have a similar reaction to singing voices. Singers that I used to think had outstanding voices seem pale now in comparison with Adam. Not all, of course, but some. Funny how it's all a matter of perspective.
