Looks like he's holding a sharpie, and the cord from his jacket is dangling into his boot. ?

I know Adam wasn't a boy scout, but he always comes prepared with a sharpie...faster autographs that way.
"Adam, may I have your autograph?"
"Sure. Do you have a pen?"
"No, I don't. Does anyone have a pen I can borrow? Sir, may I borrow a pen? Ma'am do you have a pen I can borrow. Excuse me, may I borrow your pen for a minute? Here's a pen Adam. Adam? Adam where are you?"
