It's somewhat ironic that Adam's next single is a song written by Bruno Mars and not one that Adam wrote himself with some collabs. From what I have read most of the songs on TRESPASSING were written by Adam and reflect his experiences and thoughts over the last several years after the GNT and then his meeting with Sauli and their relationshsip. I wonder why NCOE was chosen instead of some of the others we have heard during Adam's radio promo tour. I do like NCOE with its upbeat, energetic sound and hope it will be very successful for Adam. Maybe the next single will be one that he actually wrote. I suppose it doesn't really matter in the total picture as long as the song gets radio play and the album sells extremely well upon its release in May.

WWFM was very successful for Adam and it was a song written by Pink. So if NCOE written by Bruno Mars is just as successful, it's all good. From what I have read on line, NCOE is receiving very good reviews and I have to admit it sticks with you once you have heard it several times. It's a song that makes you want to move, to get up an dance and I guess that it will appeal to a younger audience. I don't care who wrote it as long as it is a mega hit for Adam.

I think there are plenty of great songs on the new album that will be discovere and embraced when it comes out. NCOE will open the door for many people who haven't discovered Adam yet. The other songs, which I agree are more reflective of Adam himself, will find an broader audience, too.

I like NCOE well enough and I pray that it's Adam's breakthrough hit, but sometimes, you have to go through the coal mine to get to the diamonds.

BTIKM stayed at same position on HAC for the week:

17 17 ADAM LAMBERT Better Than I Know M... 1212 1238 -26 4.619

Let's hope Adam will premier his new single NCOE on Ryan S. morning show on KIIS FM on Tuesday and then the rest of the US radios will play it non-stop.

Seductive intro sweeps one onto the dance floor. Kudos to Adam and Brian London for setting things right.

I really love NCOE and what ever it takes for Adam to get a big hit. Bruno's association can't hurt either. I am sure we will get lots more singles off the album that Adam wrote. Adam had said he never will sing a song he doesn't feel connected to and he really admires Bruno!@2:46 thanks for the # update on BTIKM, I still request it everyday as we all should!

BTIKM is no longer on the Vh1 Top 20 Countdown. I just went there to do my daily voting and it's gone :((((

The more people listen to NCOE, the more people will buy it online or hard copy. Curiosity will then set in to seek out what other gems Adam Lambert has hidden on his amazing CD Trespassing. And we all know here that that album is full of 'waiting to happen' hits. But to arrive there, Adam needed a song like NCOE. I personally LOVE it. I put the headphones on and listened to it several times. Not once could I sit still through the whole thing. Just had to dance on my chair singing away with Adam.

Anonymous said...

Just read a tweet from a young dad (in his mid-20s) saying that his 3-year old could not stop dancing to this NCOE. That song will reach EVERYONE (if Ryan Seacrest and company play it)!

Anonymous said...

If Adam sings this song on NCOE, I hope he does the full band and back vocals version. His last time on Idol was singing Aftermath sitting on a stool. It was great but I think people want to see his energy on stage!

@5:18 I think Adam will do the full band version of NCOE on idol so it will sound as much like the radio version as possible. Aftermath was different, it was for charity and a special type of performance. When Adam sang BTIKM on Leno and Ellen he did it with a full band.He will kill it on idol!!! It should get his album really soaring and the song, cause Durbin's album shot way up to 27 on Amazon and the song he sang #4 on itunes rock chart. So sorry to bring that name over here, don't like him or his music. It will probably will last only a couple days then drop like a lead weight. I want Adam to stay way up for a long time like Kelly. But see what singing in front of a huge audience does!

it doesnt matter who wrote what song. a good song is a good song. Adam hasnt written any song lyrics totally, they are all colabs.
always got the belly achers! rejoice in his music and let him rest with his choices.

Yes, Plenty of time for the songs that Adam had a hand in writing. A good song is good no matter who writes it. Adam's heart and soul is in this CD, every song, whether he wrote it or not. I think the AI performance will really boost things up!

I just don't get it at all??? This crap they play over and over on the radio constantly and then you have adam!!! With his 5 songs we have heard (don't care which one , beats the hell out of every new song out thier today! I'm not just sayig this because I love adam, but it's true. I do love that new band Goyte and thier song however! I am up up on all the music today, only because of adam, have to keep up with what's going on and I do Jeez I feel like a teenager again , just to be current for adam. Does this make any sense to you glamberts?

Anonymous said...

@Anon. 9:25PM ... I'm in the same boat as you ... ADAM has shown me new artists I never would have known existed .. Adele .. Sia .. and other artists I never paid attention to .. MUSE .. etc. Now when I hear them on the radio I actually know who they are. Not all of them but I can pick them out from the others. Can't wait to turn on the radio & hear ADAM on ALL the stations like the rest of the mainstream artists ... BUT WHEN???

Anonymous said...

For the radio stations in our area that Adam did his promo tour last month, I suggest, we politely write on their facebook page walls a thank you note and ask them nicely to play Adam's new single NCOE. Hopefully, they'll spin it after its release on iTunes on 4/17. How about it?

Jax said...

@ Annon 11:23 > This would be a class act. I really like ur suggestion and I think it'll pay off greatly. At least, not only it'll get them talking about Adam but also their page viewers will get curious too...
And genuinely they deserve a thank you after all this promos for hosting Adam's fans and his music.

"Thanks + Reuquest" Very nice idea. ;)

Anonymous said...

Adam's BTIKM mv isn't on VH1 but this mv charted for 4 weeks on VH1. Right? That's not bad at all. Jennifer Hudson's mv with NeYo didn't even make it to the countdown. Madanna's new single isn't there either but it charted last week on the countdown. I have no idea how VH1's new rules for the countdown works!? But Adam's mv did well, IMO.

Anonymous said...

@Jax Thanks! Don't forget, in addition to thank you note, to mention that NCOE was written by Bruno Mars and Dr. Luke produced the track.

It's important to be tactful and PC. To be nice but yet promote NCOE. Hopefully, it'll work!

Anonymous said...

I sure hope the video for NCOE comes out soon after the song is released! For BTIKM, the video came out like over a month later. I sometimes wonder if that hurt the success of the song?!

I'm no expert, but I just wish the song AND video would debut at the same time (or as close as possible).

I LUV NCOE!! And these radio stations better play it! I'm so tired of US radio ignoring or refusing to play Adam's music! I want that #1 mega-hit he so deserves! Sorry for ranting...it's just that he's so much better than most of what we hear on the radio! Ok, back to listening to this awesome song...

Hmmm...after reading everything here, I just have a couple of comments. : ))

I actually think there is a lot of good music out there on Top 40 radio, and I like quite a bit of it...I don't think its all crap. I buy it and listen to it all the time...What I do get frustrated about is that Adam has had a hard time getting his music played. My KISS station in Seattle didn't play BTIKM at all as far as I know. Even when he was there promo-ing it. And it wasn't because we Seattle area people didn't request it, because we did. They told a friend of mine who was at the promo there "It doesn't fit our format"..(SIGH..)..

"Never Close Our Eyes" is apparently the result of feedback from the radio people along the way on his Promo Tour, so I hope we all support it and request the heck out of it. I think we'll actually hear it on radio this time. I also have to admit that I don't listen to the radio a whole lot because I generally listen to CD's or my iPod with my own music/playlists, a mix of slightly older music, new music, interspersed with Adam. I think that's pretty common these days, that people listen to their own music mixes. But the important thing is that somehow Adam's music is heard and gets radio spins...and downloads, and hard copy sales. And people must have a way of discovering him, so radio play, and the upcoming music video play a big part in that I would assume. Because all of that constitutes success in the music industry.

This new song, no matter who wrote and produced it, is apparently the one that Adam got some really positive response from the Radio people during his promo tour,so of course its the logical song to release as his next single. I was so excited to be in the Bing Lounge audience for the "world premier" of the acoustic version of NCOE, which heard live was even more stunning than what we can hear on the official Bing Lounge video. I loved being there and I LOVE the acoustic version, but I think the CD version is fabulous. I loved it when I first heard the "snippet". I personally think Adam's voice is easily heard and the comments that its "over-produced" don't make much sense to me. In order to get radio play, the dance beats and the extra production make it "radio-friendly" and just really a great song. And hopefully it'll get a ton of play in clubs. Its getting good "reviews" in various music blogs. So eventually we'll be getting more singles, some that are a little more "Adam" (Trespassing, Cuckoo...maybe Naked Love and Chokehold..which I like A LOT or perhaps one of the songs we haven't heard yet..I'm VERY anxious to hear Shady..and Broken English..and all the rest), written by Adam, etc., but I suspect NCOE will get Adam noticed again in a really positive way, and will be a super intro to his new album. Very excited to see him on American Idol, with their huge audience, And of course his Queen association won't hurt either...

Sorry about this long comment, but after reading comments the past couple of days, I just thought I might as well jump in with an opinion or two..or ten.. I can hardly wait to download NCOE on the 17th from iTunes (also available then on Amazon..). So Monday night I'll be up a little later to get it just as soon as it is available...I want to get it on a CD and just let it BLAST! And then on to May 15th for the entire Trespassing album..Getting close!

Why radio station that already know they're not going to play Adam's music, made him go there for a promo!?? If they don't like his music , or "it doesn't fit our format"...omg...or they're just hommophobes, why do that!?Maybe to make they own promo? because they know the radio station name will be known all around the world only because Adam is there(even prob. we will never hear them again, specialy if they don't play Adam...)or maybe the label pays them to do that? Better spend the money in a new video or make a commercial and pay Tv's to play it every 10 minutes.
There are some singers with good voices but deadly boring and some with nice dance and good image but no voice, Adam HAS EVERYTHING!!!
What the hell are you waiting for!!??

glitzlady, I agree that NCOE is not over-produced, at least not more "produced" than most other pop sngs. His voice is clear and strong in the song and isn't hidden behind too much background. This is just my opinion, of course. I know how frustrating it is to have Adam's voice all covered up with music noise. NCOE is just fine.

And yes, 11:23, the Facebook request ides is great! Let's do it!

Vote on Idol of the Month. I know it doesn't mean much in the big pictue, but I want everyone to know that Adam still has a huge fanbase and he is on the rise! I'm voting. Please do also, if you like.

If NCOE didn't get any chart on Billboard or spins on radio like it happened with BTIKN there are no way that Tresspassing will have any success. Adam lost a lot of fans.Just look at # of NCOE plays. And this is amazing song. In one of the reviews they said that the song will make #1 very soon. Is it on Billboard yet?

Jax said...

@ Glitzylady & @ DRG >

About over-producing NCOE: Just the day it was announced as the next next single, the site www.arjanwrites.com put up a review of the track and very beautifully wrote: "What's particularly compelling about this new Lambert smasher is that even Dr Luke's energetic production stylings don't compete with the strength of Lambert's performance."

I have to add that I'm big Adam's fan. And I hoped that Adam will never give up and we'll see more albums and music videos in the future. Seriously, we don't have to care about all of these numbers too much. Adam is genious. And I don't care about all of these spins and Billboard charts.

Let's look at the glass 1/2 full instead of 1/2 empty. On that RCA Press Report, his label mentioned Adam sold 2 million copies of FYE thus far. This is the latest report and the last one we read about FYE sales was at the end of 2010 and RCA claimed Adam sold 1.2 million copies of FYE. 2011 was a slow year cause Adam was mostly recording Trespassing tracks. How in the world FYE album sold 800K in 2011. I say Adam's name is out there. He is well known and his name did the selling. We always should look at positive side of things. Album will be out in about a month. Adam will perform with Queen for four shows. For goodness sake Queen booked him for four shows (not two) and they changed the dates. I'm sure they are aware of demand with their new frontman for four shows and if all goes well they might add more shows. I say people let's stay focus and positive. Screw the radio PDs/DJs (with our power we can screw them with our requests). MUSE is a huge band and they are well known around the globe without any radio play. I heard them twice on my radio stations and I love this band even before knowing Adam. SO ALL IS WELL. LET'S STAY FOCUS AND POSITIVE.

Anonymous said...

Also the first thing I learned in my marketing class, one of the biggest advertising campaign to promote a product is words of mouth. Share Adam's music with others. Crank it up in your car with windows down. Play it in your office. At a party ask DJs to play it. Click on facebook buttons of articles about Adam to make these articles the most popular and talked about news. So on and so forth! Stay positive people!

Hopefully when Adam appears on AI and sings NCOE, that will give a tremendous boost to its sale and that of the album. There is a large audience for the show and with a song written by Bruno Mars and the good reviews received so far, it has to be a success. Adam has poured his heart and soul into the making of TRESPASSING and with all the amazing songs on it heard so far, it should do very well and be the breakthrough that he needs for superstardom.

Anonymous said...

OMG some people are such pessimists, why write Adam off before NCOE has been officially released or even his album as a flop????? As someone said there are massively successful artists and bands out there that do not get radio play as much as others yet they sell albums in the millions.

He has put his sweat, heart and soul in this album and while I pray that he gets all the radio play in the world, I am not going to write him off if he doesn't because at the end of the day he is heads and shoulders above most of the artists out there today with a loyal fanbase and the who's who in the industry recognize his talent. If you read most of the reviews some sound like they are written by Glamberts since they seem to really praise and appreciate Adam's raw talent. He is going to do good things with this album and I'll do my part in promoting him and getting the word out to those around me to buy and give his album a listen because I know they won't be disappointed. Oh and of course request the shit out of it on radio and chart shows. LOVE YOU ADAM!!!

Anonymous said...

on another site I heard a Bruno demo of NCOE why is that even on anything then it said Bruno gave Adam the song are they kidding Bruno will make a fortune off of this song if it is a big hit I like Bruno a fan of his but Adam has the vocals that should not be compared or comprimized with Bruno OR any one else because he can out sing them all. I just want tne best for Adam just got a little upset when I read all of that just like Pink she gave Adam WDYWFM then she sang it at concerts because it made good I do not think they should be able to do that actually they are selling it thats done then they rake in the money for it.

Anonymous said...

I have another idea. On Tuesday April 17, 2012 when NCOE 2nd single will be available on iTunes, let's gift it to each other by buying 10 copies or more for other fans (even though they already have a copy) in order to keep it moving high on iTunes chart. That's the first thing radio PDs/DJs look at for a new single release.

Remember buying a bulk of a single for yourself, iTunes counts it as one purchase on their chart. The only way to make NCOE move up on iTunes chart is to gift it. Why not gift it to each other just for the sake of making NCOE move up on the chart!? How about it?

@SG
Adam was on the Promo trail to promote ALL of his new music, the TRESPASSING album, not just BTIKM of course. My reason for pointing out that the station hasn't played that particular song was an example of why it hasn't done spectacularly, and why its been frustrating. Not enough radio play. At least one of the reasons. I personally think its a BRILLIANT idea to send Adam to as many radio stations for promo as is realistic so that he could present them with his newest tunes and they could give him some feedback as to what IS going to fit their format, etc..etc...and to familiarize the stations with what he'll be doing next musically,, which I think is again a very smart thing to do. What better way to find out what songs ARE going to "fit their format". In my particular radio market, Seattle, I don't think its a problem of homophobia within the local station personnel, in fact far from it. We are a very liberal and gay-friendly city. My state passed the Marriage Equality bill. The issue is that many of the KISS/ClearChannel stations, such as that one, have tight control of what is included on the stations' playlists and request forms. The DJ's play what they are allowed to play on those stations. There are other stations that DO play BTIKM around the country and world. I have high hopes and every reason to believe that "Never Close Our Eyes" and other tracks from Trespassing WILL "fit their format" which tends to be upbeat dance-y music in the case of the KISS stations. It also fits really well with Hot Adult Contemporary, (HAC) which as I recall was where WWFM really got the play, and still does. I think sending Adam to those stations is money VERY well spent and VERY smart marketing strategy...

@ANON 7:21 AM
As Anon 8:18 AM said, "Never Close Our Eyes" is not even officially released yet. It has not really been heard by the general public yet. It doesn't hit iTunes and Amazon, etc., until Tuesday the 17th here in the US. So its pretty damn hard to get much in the way of radio play or downloads. As to "plays", the Adam Official Sound Cloud NCOE has had over 61,000 listens. The you tube versions out there aren't getting a lot of numbers yet because everyone in the fandom has been encouraged to listen to the Sound Cloud version because each listen counts as a "spin".. Let's be positive about this. Give the song some time!!! Its going to be a hit..There's a difference between a song being announced as the new single, and it actually being available for radio play and download. So its not gonna show up on Billboard just yet. Patience!!! : ))

@Glitzylady

Thank you for your answer. As always your explanation is really well exposed and absolutely reasonable. You're right about Adam can show the radio stations his new stuff so radios could tell what they think abou it. In fact Adam and the label had chosen NCOE based on the radio opinion, which I hope it will be good!
I know about how open mind is your state and I really hope all the radio station would be like them.
Maybe, as said on another thread todayI'm letting myself carried away from my Adam's blind love!and I'm really bad at waiting...I want Adam supertar NOW!!;))

I think it is idiotic to say why Adam works with other great artists in the industry. World economy is suffering right now. People in music industry collaborate with each other all the time. Bruno wrote tons of songs for great artists. So why not for Adam. If that's what it takes for radios to play Adam's music, IMO, it's a good thing. Those who object about this collaboration are jealous. Adam worked with P!nk, Gaga, MUSE, Nile Rodgers (he is ranked 5th best music producer in the world), Queen, Pharrel, etc. etc. Music industry is aware of his talent and they love to work with him. There is nothing wrong with that. Bruno and Adam are great friends. They send tweets to each other. Stay positive folks!

Anonymous said...

JAK here......just heard Gotye for the first time......grrreat......do you suppose real singing is making a comeback? Adam may have started a trend.

Anonymous said...

I guess if you look at the age of the listening and record buying/itunes audience, it should tell you why talent doesn't necessarily sell. The young teen girls love the likes of a Bieber and now several of the new trend boy bands. It's their image, their looks, etc., not their voices. Most of the music being played on the radio today is often from auto-tuned, talentless performers who have a gimmick or certain look that gets them noticed. Adam Lambert is so far above all this and just doesn't fit into any specific category. Maybe his radio promos helped with selecting NCOE as the next single. His appearance on AI should give Adam a boost in album sales. Other tv appearances again should help him gain a larger listening audience. Overall, Adam may never reach mega superstardom that was predicted for him, but he will be around for a long time in the music business when so many of the others will be gone and forgotten.

Anonymous said...

Adam is way talented vocally, looks, personality and I really think prople are jealous of him.

I am so glad that other musicians and people that know music appreciate his talent . . because we all do.

Anonymous said...

@JAK: “Adam may have started a trend”. That’s kind of funny. The “real singing” was there all along, but sometimes, in order to notice it, all you have to do is to look beyond the... Tops.
That Gotye guy is 'on the market' (I mean officially) since a decade ago. He's two years older than Adam. And yes, he is "different" (from a totally different league, as you all like to say), a multi-instrumentalist and composer. A Gautier of music.

Btw, this week Gotye will be in San Francisco (Bill Graham Civic Auditorium) and then in Los Angeles (Nokia Theater). Unfortunately, I didn’t know about him when he performed in my town and missed his show. You just GO there and listen some great music! Unglam yourself for an hour or so. :-))

I agree that everyone should buy several copies of NCOE when it debuts on Itunes. We need to gear up like we did in the olden days (hah!--2009-2011) and show that old Glambert fortitude, resolved and creativity in supporting this new album--and trend it the day it debuts too. It deserves our support. Anyone know if we will see the mini concert at all on Kimmel--why isn't he a musical guest on the televised show where there would be so much more exposure--like Durbin was? Thanks for any answers out there.
