First=
I can't answer for Adam, but I am sick to death of the phrase "openly gay".

Second=
Adam is not a rock star. Adam is a pop singer who can and on rare occasions does sing a rock song.
He could be a rock star, but has chosen not to. And it pisses rockers off for him to be caled a rock star.

Third=
If interviewers don't have new and interesting questions to ask and are not prepared they should not be interviewers.

Fourth=
I suspect that during many interviews Adam, while smiling, is experiencing "red rivers of screams" UNDERNEATH.

I agree.By now,the only thing that needs to be discussed is Adam's new music..they don't call Elton John"openly gay" or even Ricky Martin,( even tho he was in the closet most of his career)Does anybody know if Elton is in better health now?sure hope so.

Interviewers talk about "it" because Adam came out to the general public at the cusp of his fame. It make a huge difference in how many people felt about him and accepted him (or not.) Also, once he "announced" it to everyone, he was willing to talk about it openly and did not say, "don't ask me about that." As a result, everyone asks him about it. It's part of his persona and always will be.

As for interview questions, keep in mind that not everyone follows Adam's every move like we do. Casual fans and non-fans don't know that these are old questions that have been answers countless times. Veteran celebrities face this their whole lives and the classy ones handle it well. I HOPE that Adam has a very long career and gets to answer old question throughout his lifetime along with the new questions. It's a sign of success, actually, and a sign of repsect. Adam has an incredibly approachable personality and so interviewer aren't too trepidatios about asking him almost anything. It's one of the many things that makes him so interesting and endearing.

I wish the media would quit tagging the sexuality onto his whole thing. Its getting monotenous. What do they think? it makes for better stories?
Time to drop the label and stick with Adam the artist, period.

It's they are saying, he is openly gay, and wow he can sing too, unheard of. I wonder if he can tie his boots too :)

Anon 12:04 - LOVED your 4th comment! Yes, he is probably experiencing "red rivers of screams" - ha!!

Also, loved that Adam said "I don't make that much money". Probably not in comparison to some of the really big stars, but making a couple million ain't bad. Of course, I'm sure much of what is reported as Adam's income also goes to pay his band and all the other expenses of doing this. Still I am just completely happy for him.

well, this radio station is a bit old-farty so their questions were to be expected. However, it is fantastic that they had Adam on and he is doing everything he can to win hearts and ears so yay to all that. (except for the cheesy, annoying background noise).
BTW Adam will be on Radio Q programme on CBC with Jian Ghomeshi tomorrow (10am and 10 pm). Jian is the best interviewer and very cool so tune in!!!! We may hear something different.

I meant just 'Q' (not Radio Q, that's something else). But it is on CBC Radio.

It's Adam alone who will decide when 'enough gay talk' is enough. It's up to him to talk about it or not. Let him be.

Yes, us Adam fans do get sick of all the same questions -- especially the gay one but some of the people who interview him don't know that we know all about Adam. Anyway, the one thing that was annoying to me was the music in the background -- geez, why didn't they play Adam's music while talking to him??!!! On well, on to the next interview.

I can't believe that none of you caught Adam quietly and gently slapping these two interviewers on the wrist with his explanation. Please listen to the first answer he gives.

That's really true that most people don't follow artists like fans do. I have NEVER done this before, only when I was a kid I collected pictures and posters of my music preferences and that was all :) As an adult sometimes read gossips about big stars... For me music was just for listening and enjoying. Until this :)

There are many people who just listen to the music, they don't go behind it. And I think it's ok, you don't have to be a die-hard-fan to enjoy music. If they happen to hear any ok interview, that's a good thing.

I have heard and read so many comments about AL which tell people don't have a clue who and what he really is. In my country many people know his name and that he is some kind of worldwide pop star from US (because tabloids write about his relationship with Sauli), but they don't know his music or maybe have only heard WWFM and IIHY on the radio. They are surprised when I tell he has amazing voice and he can also sing great rock, including Queen this summer...

Sometimes I think in pop music world the music and great vocals may not be the key issue, some other things might matter more. And that's why there are people who don't value pop very high... Not everyone likes dance music. I love Adam doing rock, but I wouldn't call him a rock star anymore (he appeared like that in AI). He can act like one, but an artist has to be who he really feels he is. Still, I can't deny I am extremely excited to see and hear him in London with Queen :) I love his many sides.

I thought this was a good interview apart from their harping on about Adam's sexuality. At least they talked about his album and let HIM do most of the talking unlike that idiot Kyle Sandilands, the embarrassment to Australia that he is. However, they too promoted Better Than I Know Myself which is great in one way because it's a fantastic song so lacking in promotion, but I feel sure Adam would've preferred Never Close Our Eyes to be played but who knows!

On to the next interview!
