I was reading the small print, sounds like a fun article.

Adam has already voiced his dislike for Jersey Shore before... Therefore I was a bit annoyed that Adam received his MMVA award in Canada from the hands of ... Snooki !

he likes Snooki just not the show

The original quote is: "Music hath charms to soothe the savage breast." By author/playwright William Congreve. But often quoted as "beast" instead of "breast". Anyway, Adam's interpretation that music is like meditation and quietens his brain is relevant with reference to his tattoo quote; I like his tattoo and its stylish font. The word, stankface is interesting, so he has been making stankfaces...lol! Well at least it has a name. Miss Spookiness9...nice pen-name. lol! :)

Lam-my, the tattoo translation actually refers to the even older Greek myths of Orpheus whose music was capable of calming animals.

Thanks...from what I read in your link, yes, Congreve referenced to animals in mythology but the quote by Congreve is still the original from his play, The Mourning Bride. :)

Well what a lovely start to the morning. A beautiful, full page of Adam in a magazine, with wonderful pics and quotes, followed by some interesting literary discussion.

imho, however apt both words may be (beast or breast), the quote is taken from Congreve. Common usage (or semi-common usage) has created a situation where these words are interchangeable, depending on how literate you are.

Just to put my 2 cents in---Ovid's Orpheus quote "savage beast" was about 4th century. Congreve's "savage breast" was about 17th century---ergo
Congreve was a copycat! lol

I am going to PRAY that this thread is not going to be a comment after comment debate about the meaning of Adam's tatoo. UGH. It probably would be an interesting literary discussion but maybe y'all could find a literary web site to discuss it on.

Oh, come on, I was just going to introduce a new topic "who really wrote the plays credited to William Shakespeare"? Francis Bacon, brilliant Cambridge educated lawyer and playwright.
Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford, cultured intellectual, noted poet at Queen Elizabeth I court. Wm. Stanley, Earl of Derby, widely traveled Jesuit spy for the Vatican. Christopher Marlowe a poet and spy for Queen Elizabeth?

Or was it Will, untraveled, born into an illiterate peasant family at a small crossroads called Stratford Upon Avon?

A lot more fun than handwringing over American Idol or complaining about Adam hanging out with the gay community.

@4:53 No, not about the Tat but about the love Australia has for Adam! Now you can see why he is an adopted Aussie.

Remember Oz was graced with Adam at the Sydney Mardi Gras and we've never recovered from that. It was incredible!

Whoa! I didn't know anything about the great debate nor declaration on signature-collecting regarding Shakespeare's authorship! I could quote chunks of Shakespeare during my school days now only remnants still remain stoically in my memory bank. But never even mildly had I doubted his authenticity. Thanks for enlightening me, lol! I just watched a video by an English professor and he made me laugh, when he asked repeatedly...how come no one told me? lol! He did it so humorously. lol! :)

I am chuckling to myself as I read this thread filled with classical literary references, Shakespeare, Ovid, Congreve, etc. I can't think of another singer who could possibly generate discussion like this!!! Bieber? Minaj? Levine? Perry? LOL! I don't think so! It's really cool, in my opinion. The beauty of it is that mixed in with this literary discussion, we often veer into the GB, tats, hair dye, homophobia, make-up, tight zebra pants, and just plain sex, sex, sex!!1 I love it all. Nobody gets a fan discussion going like AFL.

@ DRG......JAK here

I'm sorry no one wants to take me up on my Shakespeare discussion, but for a moment there it was a diversion.

One last word on Wm Congreve...my favorite quote from one of his many plays was "Heav'n has no Rage like Love to Hatred turn'd, nor Hell a Fury, like a woman scorn'd"!

I'm pretty sure that quote is the basis for the 'drop dead you scum' lyrics that Taylor Swift writes about her exes!!! :))

P.S. please don't mention the zebra pants, they make me feel faint!

YES DRG!!!!

ADAM MAKE US CUCKOO AND ALIVE!!!!!!!

HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO THAT RIGHT NOW:)

Adam has a knack for creating buzz--the hair, dress and tattoos. Wherever the roots of the new tattoo it certainly fits Adam like the fingerless gloves he wears. The Dark Side

Those silver zebra pants were about 10 feet away from me while in the front row at Endfest (darn photographers and videographers in front of me LOL!)

@DRG you always say it so well as well as Lam-my and JAK and many others including those illustrious anons!

@JAK I love the full quote by William Congreve as well. It's a shame it has been bastardized into "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." However said, the meaning is the same...Beware of the sweet girl you've fallen for. If she thinks you've treated her badly, she'll turn into a bitch on wheels. lol

The used fork truck is the most cherished possession in any warehouse. Surprised? Dont be! The thing with new fork lift trucks is they arrive brand new and take a lot of time to get accustomed to the working conditions. That implies killing a lot of precious time, which can stretch to numerous tantalizing months. Nobody has that much patience. We want a machine we are comfortable with right from Day 1. This is where the concept of the used fork truck comes into the picture. Used Fork Lift Trucks are machines that have been used earlier, do not require any wear and tear and can be used the moment they are delivered at the warehouse. There are different types of aluminium products that can be found in an aluminium warehouse. This is a preferred metal in many industries due to its high resistance to corrosion and low density property. Moreover, it is a lightweight material which makes it useful in the industry that makes aeroplanes and other industries. nt, with companies like ACE, Cotecna, Control Union, Drum and SGS roll out collateral management products to a growing international market to operate. Notwithstanding the fact that most bankers, borrowers and warehousemen say they find collateral management? Just too expensive? their desire to use services of collateral management companies is increasing. In the absence of complete physical goods storage and safe due to the risks in moving goods across the banks are obliged to find other structures for protection against physical risks. Collateral management agreement, or CMA, offered by a number of global firms, offers one such solution. 3. GLUTATHIONE & N-ACETYLCYSTEINE (NAC) - General Discussion. They discuss a variety of issues such as maintaining long term intimacy when feelings are not in tune; dealing with different neurology and personality traits, feelings of one partner always doing the changing; accepting what an Aspie brain can achieve when it comes to feelings. This lysate was used for the estimation of glutathione peroxidase and catalase activity. Also, please note that Tylenol should be avoided as Paracetamol has been found to lower glutathione levels.
