Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Enrique Iglesias was offered a spot on the American Idol judges’ panel:

Sources say Latin singer-songwriter Enrique Iglesias has now received a firm offer for a spot on the reality hit, which may expand to fourjudges next year despite shedding its entire previous panel.

EW.com reported last week that rapper Nicki Minaj and Aussie country artist Keith Urban were poised to join pop diva Mariah Carey on the show, and that Iglesias (or, if he passes, Adam Lambert) could fill a fourth spot. Longtime Idol judge Randy Jackson is set to move to a mentor role. Now we’re hearing Iglesias has received an offer for about $4 million per year, on par with Urban’s deal.

Reportedly, Enrique has a history of turning down reality show offers, including those from The Voice and X Factor. We’ll see if he passes or says yes.

Seems like Adam is still hovering around the AI judges' table. He's not out of the picture. That's pretty incredible, after all this time. Enriquez may figure he doesn't need or want it, but then again, he's not the #1 male singer on earth either. We'll know soon, finally.

Iglesias said in another article he did not want the american idol gig because he is a private man.I wish they would stop using Adams name like he is a piece of merchandise if one or that refuses idol then Lambert will get it.I know it isn't me but no matter how much I needed or wanted some thing now at this point I would have to say FUCK YOU.

What I think is that AI already knows Iglesias is NOT interested.
Yes, he is really a very private guy and who does not offer his opinions.
He is simply not comfortable in being a judge.
He and his dad Julio both are shy kind of men although both are oozing with sex appeal and both don't even have dance moves while singing on stage.
To me, this is all Idol drama and for they know very well Enrique will not take the offer.

I thought KU didn't want the Idol judge because he was working on his album? You can't believe any of this stuff.

I say American Idol should pack it up and call it a day. Adam Lambert was all they could handle and lost steam after his season. He came and kicked ass. He really changed the show forever and makes everyone look amateur.

Looks like Mariah might be judging ALONE. no one wants in those seats next to a DIVA. She will bring her DIVA game. whose more DIVA than she????? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

This sudden mysterious silence on Adam on AI judge panel is queer and I think it's because it's a done deal; and Adam is not wrangling for more money, perks etc. so it augurs well for him to be selected. Adam is true to his calling, his art and always has a yearning to be part of a larger whole to be able to realise and advance his artistic vision. It has always been his philosophy, to work in a family kind of environment and as AI judge, he can achieve that. And that's why he will eventually prevail. In short he knows the direction towards which he wants to steer his artistic vision. Frankly, no need at all to worry about Adam; he doesn't infer himself as a 'control freak' for nothing. :)

The Idol judging panel, as Leno joked, will be Mariah and two invisible judges.

I say ADAM is seating on that 4th Idol judge's seat.
Has long been a done deal but Idol keeps milking it.

The only sure thing we know about Idol is that Mariah is signed, until the other judges are officially announced there is no point fretting over it. We'll know when we know.

The one thing I will say about Adam being a judge though, is that he wants it for the right reasons. He has said many time how thankful he is to Idol, that it was one of the highlights of his career so far, and how much he really wants to help the contestants, and he's always been a fan of the show. The others just want the money and exposure...

Well, the adjective, queer obviously refers to the subject, silence...and I'm quite sure you know that; but thank you for alerting me to the insinuation of the word, queer, in this context. If Adam tweeted the picture with the word "bitch" across his photo, then this is peanut-miniscule. Hey I like "wax poetic"! lol! :)

Lam-my, having enjoyed reading your comments, prose, poetry, and all manner of verbal expression re: Adam, I relate wholeheartedly to your need to hone for practice and pleasure a language that is challenging even for the most accomplished of native speakers. And, what better medium than our Muse of all Arts, including language, n'est ce pas? The word "queer" used synonymously with "strange" in this context is benign but because of the subject matter's being gay, its use took on a disparaging subtext, unwittingly on your part, of course. So many minefields in the English language, so it certainly keeps us on our toes, doesn't it? atm

Thank you...and I love reading your in-depth writings, always expressed with an open mind and kindness. I can most of the time tell that it's you before I see your initials at the end. I've often been caught off-guard with regard to references or words related to the taboo topic of gay, here, which is absolutely not taboo to me. In my real life experiences, the gay issue doesn't exist and like, you so nicely phrased it..."unwittingly"...queer, simply meant strange with no second thoughts about it. So in this particular instance, it's not due to language, lack of experience is more like it. Thank you. :)

I heard Enrique Iglesias was a private person, however, money talks and 4 million dollars is a lot of money. I am thinking Enrique was holding out until they offered him more money and it sounds like they did. Maybe by some off chance he will turn it down, but unlikely.

I've come to the conclusion that I will just turn AI on when it starts and if Adam isn't on there I will just turn if off. This whole AI thing is becoming a circus, I just hate they are doing this to Adam. Enrique Iglesias is an alright entertainer, nothing out of the ordinary , but does not come close to the charm, charisma, personality that Adam has to offer the judge seat.

Enriquez will be "private" all the way to the bank. What a crock. Looks like I'll have more free time this year duringn Idol to catch up with Adam on my laptop.

Many of the younger LGBT community refer to themselves as queer.

Just had another thought ... guess I have too much time on my hands but here goes ...
Maybe ADAM is being considered for something on AI other than a judge ... a mentor/co mentor like Randy/Jimmy ... he really did a great job when he was mentor during AI9 ... ADAM sure does know how to keep a secret & keep us guessing ... maybe a spokesperson for MAC (just another thought). Unlike many of you I don't feel as anxious about the AI judging spot ... I just feel like ADAM could do so much better ... sorry ... JMO
