SHAVE!
Looks like the Chinese Idol is really catching on over there. Very professional and polished from the clips here.
He will shave when he wants too! I like it.
Adam looks younger and sexier without facial hair.
I think Idol will be very successful in China. I liked their judges and they certainly appreciate Adam who easily fit all of their criteria as a previous successful contestant. Adam must feel honored that they have included him in their launch of what I feel will be very welcome to Chinese fans. Adam always loves to give to new talent, as he knows what it's like to struggle and get the masses to see what he has to offer. Adam also had a lot of face time on this program.

Yes Adam has been well received in Asia, but I don't believe that will be of much help in this country. His success with Queen was practically unknown here and the Chinese performances caused no stir either. He simply has to have a whopper of a song to catapult him to US attention. I think he needs to pick a genre and stick with it till he is widely known and acknowledged and then he can show what else he can do. A long time ago on this site a man who tagged himself Sarge and had been a roadie for several bands said Adam needed a sound that was always recognizable as him. His
versatility worked against him. He changed voices with each song. Perhaps that came from his stage experience, diff. performance diff voice, even accent,.At the time he was talking about the FYE album. I thought it was a valid observation.
I don't know where Jacko came from but he/she is not a pleasant addition to the blog. Jacko, how about you SHUT UP?

You make a very valid point. To us his fan base, that is why we love him, because he is so versatile. However, the general public has to identify with him first, then become dedicated, to whatever he does. "Food or thought".

Your post is worth commenting,we won't agree in everything, but , finally we'll talk about serious matters.
1.I think that both the Queen collaborations and the Chinese performances are practically unknown to the large masses of music lovers and not because they were minor events, just the contrary, you remember how bad K.Perry and Lady Gaga wanted to sing with Queen at EMAs Belfast almost 2 years ago. And Brian and Roger chose Adam.Guess who is to be blamed that those extraordinary accomplishments were not successfully popularized in the media?
2.It wasn't his versatility that worked against him. Versatility is great, there aren't many pop singers as versatile as Adam. I think that a tenor's voice, classically trained needs complicated, difficult, complex, sophisticated songs,(remember Savage Garden?), rich orchestrations, great instrumentalists, ones that enhance the value of the voice and give it the recognizable sound. I'm sure you remember how Adam came to sing the songs that were released as singles, one "for sale"that didn't meet even the writer's expectations, the other meant to become an anthem whose writer/producer worked it with Adam as with any other pop singer who needs "machine-made music"! Hmm... . With a few exceptions pop singers don't write their own songs, the big names , Rihanna, Beyonce have teams of songwriters/producers who take into consideration their voice, timbre, pitch even personality. All Adam needs now is a great team of collaborators, writing, producing with Adam in their mind.
