Wow!! Adam that BB performance could probably be the best performance I've seen in my 4 years following all your concerts, one live in my country, and others around the world. That sure is Broadway style of your NA; and I like the dramatic effect of the salute and 90* clockwise turn. You are a 'soldier' in your own uphill task. I can still feel the raw emotion and love you feel for your country though it's a performance. Very good! Adam, superb job! Yes, that original sparkle...when you first came onto the scene; in your own words: "And I will show you!"

Really nice picture of Adam! I love the shirt. Guest? They let a Guest on stage to sing? ;)

Another article. This one gushes beautifully, too. I hope there will be more writers covering it.

In case you missed the first link I posted, it not only talks about Adam but gives background info on "Broadway Bares". It's in it's 23 year.

Adam looks very content and happy with this group of BB actors/singers...Yes NYC is Adam's paradise; fits him and his talents and they don't hound him regarding his sexuality etc; not even at this BB event; they just go about doing what they love...I like that, rather than the constant nibbling at his behaviour, sexuality etc.

Adam really seems to have garnered all this praise for singing the NA. Hey, we knew he could do it; all he needed was the perfect opportunity. I think that Adam is a "soldier in his own uphill battle" trying to gain recognition and to make a place for himself in today's music industry. He just stands out amid all the lip synching, auto-tuned, talentless, immature individuals flooding the music scene. Unfortunately because it's the tweens and teens listening to that kind of music and buying concert tickets, that someone like Adam with an amazing voice and mesmerizing stage presence has to keep fighting that constant battle to achieve some degree of success. I have been a fan since day one and will continue to support him through his music and other creative efforts.

BROADWAY BARES 23: UNITED STRIPS OF AMERICA, a randy road trip of modern-day burlesque featuring 220 of New York's sexiest dancers, raised an all-time record high for the fourth year in a row on Sunday, hitting $1,430,241 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

· Grammy nominee and American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert made a surprise appearance at the midnight show, delivering a roof-raising rendition of the national anthem that led into a gritty, Georgia-based military boot camp number choreographed by Jon Rua. A host of muscled men in fatigues, led by Julius C. Carter (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark), used each other as weights before stripping down to white cotton shorts and dancing a racy and bouncing version of barrack calisthenics.

"The technique, the mastery and the pure balls it takes to sing like this is breathtaking and mind-boggling. You know the guy who just completed a high-wire walk across the Grand Canyon? Well, this is the vocal equivalent."

"Yup, singing without a safety net in front of a VERY TOUGH crowd (and watching their jaws drop to the floor)"

In response to: "Yup, singing without a safety net in front of a VERY TOUGH crowd (and watching their jaws drop to the floor)"

From someone who was there: "I know my jaw dropped. I kept repeating over and over "oh S**t OMG Oh S**t. He brought the house down."

WATCH: Adam Lambert Rocks The Star-Spangled Banner

Adam Lambert, as if you could get any more perfect than you already are!

The ridiculously amazing singer took the stage at Broadway Bares last night to bust out the most amazing rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner since Whitney Houston stunned us in 1992. And thanks to a glorious person on YouTube, we get to watch it!

He’s just there, on his own, belting that song out and it’s amazing. Y’all, Adam Lambert makes us happy. Check out the video and tell us how much you love it in the comments! Where does Adam’s version rank on your list of favorite Star-Spangled Banners? Cause it’s basically number 1 for me.

All I can say is that after @adamlambert's rendition of the SSB, the anthem should be permanently retired!

Best rendition of the NA ever. Yes, the man can sing better than anyone. Grammy worthy. Perfect vocals; perfect man.

You hear lots of divas using grace notes as vocal virtuoso bling. Adam doesn't do that. He's making texture, emphasis, drama, power. STORY!

In a poem, I wrote about Adam's 4-octave voice and now I have confirmation I wasn't that far off; as stated above, "belting 5th octave"; very informative, 9:26. :)

Its been great reading so many positive tweets about this performance...
Still can't believe no one has put up the whole thing yet......
I think they were all so stunned by what they were hearing that it took a while for their brains to start working and get their phones into recording mode....

Anonymous said...

@HK fan
Exactly what I was thinking, too!
Soooo proud of him and all the ravings he's getting from professionals!
My heart sings nearly as loud as Adam belting that song!!! Would be SOOO lovely to get to see the whole performance!

How can anyone doubt this Man would not take care of his business is beyond me!

Anonymous said...

The experts agree - the notes were insane and the audience was freaking out. Imagine if the audience had been "polite". It would have been awful. This is a big event for Broadway. Nice press and the beginnings of another trip with more stuff and more press. You go boy!

Anonymous said...

One thing I have loved about Adam from the beginning (when I started following his career) is his clear, pure and 'thorough' PRONUNCIATION both when he speaks and especially fantastic it is to hear when he sings, even in the very high notes... Gives me GOOSEPUMPS just thinking about it!!!
So grateful to Adam of so many things... :))))

Anonymous said...

thanks M nice to hear from you and esp. your comment.

give some views to Angie and Adam AI duet. thanks

10:27 PM, that tweet was from an Adam fan to the NFL.

Anonymous said...

Yes there were some tweets from Broadway people at the fundraiser about how impressed they were with Adam's performance but a lot of the ones copy/pasted here are from fans. Why? There are enough from outside the fandom to be impressive. This just waters down the impact to mix in fan comments and try to pass them of as something else. That isn't necessary, Adam is good enough without needing to do that.

Anonymous said...

Tweets are cheap. I will be impressed when someone hires him for a broadway show

Anonymous said...

FYI. Those going to Orlando. It's in a grassy area, take something to sit on, throw, towel, etc. Open air, take sunblock and umbrella for sun or for rain, it's the rainy season.

Anonymous said...

Comments are cheap 8.26. I'll be impressed when you actually write something worth reading.

Anonymous said...

@4:33 AM
As a foreigner I am very thankful that Adam articulates so clearly when he speaks and sings. It is really easy to understand what he is saying and singing. That's one of many things that I admire in him.

I've been reading some comments about how raunchy, gritty and sleazy the BB show was and criticizing Adam for being there. He obviously did not participate in any of the dance numbers, but sang the NA better than most performers do at other venues esp. for sports. And if they raised l.4million dollars at the event, well good for them. Adam looked great and did an amazing job as usual.

Anonymous said...

I love me some "glam" Adam don't get me wrong, but just look at how stunning he is without eye makeup and it looks like not much face makeup either. I truly believe that since he has been wearing his hair completely off his face, his skin has improved. Not wearing as much face makeup has helped that too. What a gorgeous hunk of humanity!!!!!

Anonymous said...

@8:26, If getting on a Broadway show was his goal (and it is NOT) and he was struggling in his effort to get there, then I could maybe see a point to your comment. However he does NOT want to be in a Broadway show so therefore, there is NO point to what you said that makes any sense other than to just take any opportunity to say something negative about a great talent and person. How very unattractive of you.

Anonymous said...

@ 8:26 (Negative Nelly) - No, you won't be impressed if and when Adam should get a part in a Broadway show - you will find something to complain about. It's what you do, it's what you are - negative and depressing. Must be a sad life for those around you. kk
