Adam's "coming out" in Rolling Stone was ground-breaking. And we've been on this journey with him ever since. He has changed hearts and minds all over the world, and given hope to many gay boys and girls just coming up. Adam is changing the world as we speak.

Wow, is it 4 years already? Time has certainly gone by much too fast. It seems like it was only yesterday as I watched Adam each week on Idol realizing there was something special about him from all the other contestants. It has been an interesting, exciting and amazing journey following Adam with his career and also his personal life. He is never boring or uninteresting and does stir up lots of comments, criticism and controversy. There is no one quite like him in music today and it seems to me he is consistently underappreciated. Adam isn't afraid to express himself through his music, his opinions or his fashion style. So thanks to Idol for bringing Adam Lambert to us and to RS for the honest, revealing interview of this vocal powerhouse and mesmerizing individual.

best cover ever, that and Deals and Fault and... damn they are all good.

Adam is like no other. Ground-breaking even beyond what we may realize now. Idol and RS are just the beginning of a life I'm glad to know.

4yrs of doing something I never did in my life and its been a long life. I admit I am obsessed and a day doesn't go by without checking this blog and enjoying the comments. Even if the comments are not to my liking I admit to having a good laugh at times. I am looking to watching Adams career soar as we his fans always knew would happen. He is a very special person.

It has been a more than pleasurable four years following the very talented and amazing Adam Lambert.
I remember flipping the channels and coming across him singing on AI. I was mesmerized and blown away and I have remained in this state ever since.
Adam is "out of this world" talented, and a beautiful human being.

JAK here....My daughter bought this magazine for me in the early days of my obsession....it's the
only Adam item I've saved. It's tucked in my bookcase next to Favorite Poems for Children! I'll admit I re-read it on occasion.
I gave away the autographed photo from Charity Water campaign and a large poster I received (not sure for what). I gave them to a 20ish fan who displays them in hair salon where she works and gave her FYE and TP cds which she plays for customers. Lots of customers ask about him, I thought it would be good PR!

Anonymous said...

Oh JAK, you are so good.

Love Nile. I hope he gets his rest, he is always on the go.

@7:04PM I liked disco in the late 70's and still do. We used to dance to the The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. Didn't know about Nile Rogers then, but I knew the music of Chic, Sister Sledge, Bee Gees and Tavares, although I lived in the middle of nowhere, in Finland. Same thing with glam rock in the early 70's when I was just a kid and went to elementary school disco on thursdays. :)

As I've mentioned before, a friend of mine had this cover blown up to 3 by 4 feet and put in a frame and gave it to me on my birthday. I have it on the wall in my home office. Totally best gift evar! . . . Adamluv

I have my 2 copies of this RS issue tucked away in my bedroom drawer with a few other of my Adam treasures {such as tshirts which I never wear and my program from the 2009 Idol tour.} Why 2 copies? Well, you never know-something might happen to one of them!!! I bought so many copies {about 20] of Adam's Trespassing Deluxe CDs. I gave several to friends-and my son, who says he plays it in his car, but I still had about 8 copies left. They were taking up too much space in my desk so...I drove over to my public library and slid them right down the slot where I usually put book donations. The cellophane wrapping was still on all of them. Then I found myself smiling as I drove home-wondering where the CDs would end up. Hey! At least I'm doing my part to spread Adam's amazing voice to all those unenlightened out there. And, since I live near where Adam grew up, maybe some will recognize the name and his picture-especially since he's all over the billboards and city buses advertising his concert here at the Fair in S.D.Little by little East Coast, West Coast and in between, Adam will be a force to be reckoned with if we Glamberts get our way!!!!!

I have 2 copies of RS, also. One remains new and untouched. The other gets read by me and anyone who wants to borrow it.

I have been an ardent fan of Adam for 4 years, ever since he first walked onto the Am. Idol stage. I was mesmerized by his voice, looks, persona and stage presence and watched every week to see what he would do next. I really wanted to buy this epic Rolling Stone magazine when it came out but they were sold out so quickly. I admit I am obsessed with him and listen to his music every day and look forward to his next album.

One week from today I'll be front and center with my daughter and 3 granddaughters -- all Adam fans but not obsessed like me - to see Adam LIVE in San Diego!
On the countdown to the big day .... Yay!

Anonymous said...

When he walked in front of the Idol judges for the first time, I just knew. I said, "I love the one with the punky hair." And it was love from then on. I don't regret a second. I only have one copy of RS but it's safely tucked away, along with a Details and an EW and a few other articles. Someday, long into the future, I will have the best decorated room in the old folks' home, BUT NOT YET by a long shot!

And anyone else who's going of course....I'm going to the Glamily Reunion at the Brass Rail on July 1st as well. So far over 150 will be there..

I spent the day (yes the Whole DAY!) watching wild Adam on the Glamnation Tour. I love his WILD side!Has his management reined that in? I hope not.
Adam designed that whole tour and it had no inhibitions and it was AWESOME!
I don't understand why Adam didn't sing many of the songs on "TRESPASSING" live. My personal favorite is "Map". To me that was a top 40 hit.
I loved seeing him in Springfield,Ma. last summer, but it was not enough. I hope he does a long tour again. today Upright Cabaret "I Can't Make You Love Me" sigh

Here is the English script of the program of @adamlambert which was aired on "theoyeucau" radio last night. We will share it into parts cause it is long.We are so sorry if we make mistakes somewhere! Translating this whole thing into English in such a short time is not an easy job

"Today, we will give you a general look on the whole journey of Adam from the beginning to this time, also the unique music style, and together, we will find out the beauty inside – his attractive and adorable characteristic!

"Struggling with a number of barriers for years, Adam’s career has only been turned to a new page when he entered American Idol season 8. Throughout the Idol Journey, “Adam Lambert” has not only became the most searched name on online websites and forums, but also the most hottest topics on different printed newspapers and magazines. Everyone was immediately overwhelmed with the tall, eyeliner and black nails guy, in conjunction with such attractive performances and most significantly, the amazing vocal range that is capable of going from the lowest to the highest note on the guitar.

Every week, Adam’s performances always took the audience to different world with different feelings: mesmerizing with Ring Of Fire, eager with Track Of My Tears, blowing up with Whole Lotto Love, thrilling with Crying, burning with Satisfaction, melting with If I Can’t Have You, daring with Black Or White, getting wild with Born To Be Wild, questionable with One… and melting all the audience’s hearts with the cover of Mad World. This performance has received the first standing ovation ever from the tough judge - Simon Cowell and became the first song that has drove the name “Adam Lambert” to worldwide music lovers. While the American Idol dream did not have the happy ending when Adam achieved the runner-up title, like Simon has said about Adam: “The meaning of doing this show (American Idol) is that we hope to find a worldwide start, I genuinely believe with all my heart is that we have found that one in you.” Yes, American Idol has opened a new door for Adam in his pursuit of music career path: the path of becoming an international phenomenal star!

Only Adam can make me both proud like a mom and squealing like a teenager. For four years, hardly a day has passed that I haven't read this blog, checked his twitter, and listened to his music. It's all a bit crazy, but it is nice to see I'm not the only one. Very nice comments, friends.

@ 8:03 Not sure if you were referring to me when you were talking about" buying up multiple copies of RS magazine." I didn't do that. I have 2 copies--one because I am a subscriber to RS magazine and the other is a gift from my daughter. You would have automatically received a copy as well if you subscribed to the magazine. I feel as you do, I don't appreciate when folks "hog" things and prevent others from having any. This also applies to the same people who keep getting the M&Gs at Adam's concerts. Somehow, the same people seem to know how to get them, thus making it impossible for others. The VIPS in San Diego sold out in seconds, yet some who have met him before are doing so again. It would be nice to let others have a chance-and maybe Adam would appreciate seeing different fans.
AS far as CDs go, every time I went to Target there would be stacks of them available and I always felt I was helping by buying a couple more over the course of last year. I KNOW I wasn't depriving anyone of buying as many copies of TRespassing as they wanted -and I wish that millions more bought it so we could have seen Adam on tour in the U.S.
Anyway, I hope I was spreading a little generosity by donating those Adam CDs to the public library-and I would have happily given you a copy if you wanted one!

Haven't had a chance to come here all day! Hi Glamily!
Count me in as another fan forever, constantly mesmerized by our BB. From the 1st moment he walked in before th judging panel, spoke a few words and then sang....I knew he was the ONE. No doubt in my mind he would "win" and become a big star. He's the whole pkg. and I feel so very lucky that he has come into my life! I'm addicted to this site too....gotta come here daily to see every little thing that's happening with Adam. I usually read all the comments and get a lot of good information so thank you to all the posters too.

2009 was one of the worst time in my life because we're victims of the collapse of the economy. I was forced to just stay at home and watched TV starting that January.
I was so down feeling low avoiding friends and no social life. But what a blessing it turned out to be.
It was the reason why I discovered Adam on January 20 of his audition up to the finals of Idol which I would not have a chance to watch if not for my predicament.
Adam gave me joy in my heart and hope and lifting my spirits to where my problems didn't anymore matter.
And it continues to this day and I'm better off now and happy to know and love Adam.
He was there when I needed it most. It's why I always thank God for Adam.

People around me don't understand why I am still obsessed with Adam Lambert after youtubing almost every interview and most of the concert video's... I don't know whether it is his gorgeous voice, his wonderful look, his own struggle against prejudice... Am so glad to be a fan of his... and wish him all well...

Enjoy your first Adam concert....there is nothing like it. It is so true what everyone says about the videos not doing his voice or him justice. His stage presence is so powerful. Come back and tell us all about it.
That goes for Glitzy and DRG too.
Hope you have a blast together.

One thing that really saddens me is when I think of the possible NEW or NEWER-ish fans who have barely started following Adam and then stumble upon this site LIKE IT IS NOWADAYS... All this negativity and snarkyness, totally idiotic one-liners... YAK! Sometimes it really is hard to believe that this is AL Fan site!
Being a fan has not changed that much, it should be a happy flailing and celebrative state of mind, not this gloom & doom nitpicker club... that's how this site is very often nowadays...

But we who have been here longer, we are the lucky ones cause we still remember how fun it was for a long time and I for one hope there's something we can do to get it better again...

Anonymous said...

I glad Adam is in my life, he is mentioned in our household everyday. And I am constantly checking 24/7 for up dates. Love this site, would be lost with out it. I want so many good things for Adam. It has been 4 years of great entertainment. Thank you Adam.

Anonymous said...

Thanks HK - I will enjoy the concert. I work with troubled youth, mostly adolescents and I proudly tell them I am an AL fan. They look at me and ask: isn't he the gay singer? And I say yes he is and he is proud of it and so am I. And then those who are still in the closet relax a little and know there are straights who support them. Pretty cool huh?????

I don't have a RS in my bedroom drawer, is there something wrong with me? Love this man and have for over 4 years.

Anonymous said...

I also searched all over when the RS issue came out. Could not find it anywhere and just about gave up. Then I just happened to be in a Walmart some days later, and hidden behind other magazines was the one with Adam on the cover and boy did I grab it fast. Watching him perform on Idol, I never thought about his sexuality. I was more focused on his spectacular voice and his amazing stage presence. His coming out was ground breaking as previously noted and it has had both a negative and positive on Adam and his career. But Adam had to be true to himself and was not going to hide behind any facade. I keep the magazine in a folder along with several autographed pictures I requested in fan letters I have sent in the past and was pleasantly surprised to receive them. I even sent the cover notes from the Trespassing cd to have autographed and did receive it also with an autographed picture. I have only requested an autographed picture(or theater playbill) from one or two other performers in my lifetime and I am happy to say that Adam Lambert was one of them.
