Does it bring back good or bad memories for Adam that he was a Starbucks barrista in his teens?

I would be shaking so bad.. Adam is a real presence.

It's good to know that Adam is still in the Hamptons. That means that he is still in the studio creating new music.

Isn't there a saying in Glambertland:
If there's no picture, it didn't happen... :)))

Mystery skulls is signed to Warner Bros. Now I hope we hear soon that Adam has signed with a really great record Co. that really gets him and doesn't play it safe like RCA did. That knows how to promote an artist like Adam.Still get upset about the whole Trespassing era but can't dwell on the past,Adam is moving forward and we know nothing can stop him with his amazing talent! His work with Nile and Avicii is going to pay off. I love Lay Me Down!

I just read this on IDF Adam's site about how well Adam's music is doing in Asia, specially in So. Korea:

QUOTE(DerekMcG @ Aug 21st 2013, 10:37 PM)

I haven't had much time to post lately, but I just wanted to give an update on If I Had You and its amazing popularity in South Korea---more than three years after it was released as a single

In today's Gaon chart, the Korean equivalent to Billboard, IIHY is still in the top 20 on both the digital and download foreign artist charts at #14 and #17, respectively. I'm not sure what the difference is between those two charts, but I do know that digital purchases, according to a recent article, make up 56% of all music bought in Korea. (That compares with just 13.7% in Japan, where physical CDs are still much preferred.)

To give some perspective: IIHY is soaring above big hits released a good two years later, such as Maroon 5's Payphone, and is sharing the top 20 with Katy Perry's Roar and Gaga's Applause. In a music-loving country (of 50 million) where Maroon 5 is practically worshiped, that's quite an achievement!

It's impossible to escape the Psy beer ad featuring IIHY here. It's been playing for almost two months now. Whenever I turn on the TV at night, I catch it at least half a dozen times in both short and long versions. And just last week the popular Korean cable network TVN started using it in one of its promos as well Hot on the heels of Trespassing being used to promote CSI Miami, that's quite a lot of Adam exposure on Korean TV!

Sony Music in Russia loves Adam:

Sony Music Russia (@SonyMusicRussia) tweeted at 8:26am - 22 Aug 13:

Thanks so much for update this is fantastic news. Asia is a very important market for Adam. Anyone who makes light of it is wrong. This is great news for Adam. Thanks to Asia and most especially South Korea! See what happens with good exposure over three year old song becomes a hit. Exposure is the key.

I saw that Psy commercial posted on here once but I thought it was a fan made video dubbing in Adam's IIHY. I better get with the program.

With this huge exposure in Asia, it would be nice if the trio (Adam, Nile, & Avicii) can have big concerts in that part of the world.

Thanks for reminding us once again that many major parts of the world outside the U.S. are loving and embracing and supporting Adam. And he is making $$$$ from their support. I am even more excited now about album #3 and how the world market will support it, too. Apparently, his Asian fans are quite loyal. I agree that Adam's Nile/Avicii connection is very exciting and I hope it continues to grow. Avicii has had a chance to meet Adam personally and work with his and hopefully want to do more. It's all to the good! Even Glee is seen in many parts of the world, right? That's even more exposure for our guy.

I don't think Avicii is a live concert type of guy, he is a DJ and I hope he plays the hell out of LMD. He was at the AFTEE concert for charity. Nice looking guy!! Woots.

Anonymous said...

Actually Avicii does have concerts, huge audiences pay to watch him, through a cloud of fog, play recorded music. Lasers are flashing and the crowd is jumping and screaming. I don't get it, the whole concept leaves me in a fog!

Avicii, Nile, Adam...Super Triangle will one day make it big in Asia. Come to Singapore. We have these Sentosa beaches where thousands flock to during festivities and Avicii can play his music for these super beachcombers not just the locals, also from our surrounding neighbours; they flock here annually a couple of times for these beach parties; like bird migration. lol! Adam knows Sentosa like the back of his hand; that's where he was at Universal Studios the last visit. Lay Me Down is exactly right for these beach festivities, quite wild, they spout foam etc. but safe.

@Lam-my when is these beach festivities in Singapore?

Anonymous said...

Usually to tie in with our festivities for example to ring in the New Year, 31 Dec, not too sure about Christmas eve etc. I usually get the news through ads on our tv. And when they show clips of these young people in their swimwear and the foam spouted at them, it's like everybody is having a beach bubble bath. lol! Actually I can still go, not in swimwear. lol!

LOL the latest rolling stone says avicii has done 300 concerts this year and gets paid 250,000 for each concert. He is one of the highest paid and busiest DJs in the world.

I like today's sidebar picture; Adam thinking and ruminating...he sure got a round dome-like skull er I mean head, got carried away because of Adam's skull accessories. lol!

Above.....Lam-my
Really got carried away by the dome-like skull/head. lol!

10:25 I was talking about the type of concert like the Aftee one. Live singing and bands.

Don't know if anyone else has checked out all the tracks on Avicii's album to compare them for their hit potential, especially for the young demographic, as they seem to be the ones who most support EDM and attend the DJ concerts. Wake Me Up has a folk song quality to its melody and lyrics, so I understand its appeal. Lay Me Down gets my vote for a single, not just because of Adam and his vocals, but because of its high danceability factor with its fierce tune and hook, heavy beat, and pulsing bridge. All around it's just great music, and am so proud that Adam wrote the lyrics, that are perfect for the the music. I could not say as much for the others, as most of them sounded ordinary, not much appeal for me.
If the AViCii album does great, I think it will be because of WMU and LMD and maybe one other. LMD, IMHO, however, tops them all for sheer danceability and ear candy.

That's what EDM and PHM concerts are like these days - a dj choses and plays prerecorded music but blends them together in a certain order. People are there to dance, hear music and hear how the dj puts the show together. There is skill to this. Live versions of the songs are rare. Some djs, like Srillex and Avicii and Swedish House Mafia, write their own music. You have heard Avicii's song, Levels. It was huge.

Someone posted here about two weeks ago maybe less IIHY was no.1 in Korea. Guess it was but still is in top 20. That's really terrific. Whatever this is good news about trespassing also.

@1:11

I know what EDM stands for, but am at a loss for PHM. Please educate me. It's a poor day when I don't learn something new. Thanks. :)

Lets see. 2013 maybe not best year for Adam. January drops deal with 19 Entertainment. April drops boyfriend. May/June Bye to Rca/Sony. On the upside? Lots of partying pics worldwide. Queen/AL in September. Good Niles Rodgers/AL collaboration in Hamptons. Role in Glee. For fans that just want music from AL don't know if 2013 was great year or what. AL seemed to be more focused/better image when with ex. Still can't figure out why such a talented vocalist/theatre person has such low record sales or why no one is lining up to sign Adam. Glamberts may not like what I say, but whatever the reason for Adam's lack of sustainable record sales and inability to break into mainstream music/awards, the glitch needs to be figured out and resolved. Its all well/good to get numerous LBGT awards/citations, but in order to exist in mainstream America, you need those projects/backing/dollars to keep a career going. Puzzling was Adam singing numerous covers of other artists at his shows, but refusing to do covers for record company. Ditto singing on other folks records, it's not the same as having your own. Adam is getting a little long in the tooth to be called a pop star. Hope it all comes together for him, but he seems to take 1 step forward and 2 steps back at times. Hope his future doesnt deteriorate into clubbing pics and occasional appearance at fashion week in NY. Wonder how many of those folks in the pics spent cash to buy his music? Asia is big for Adam, but who pays for the tour/promotion if you have no record company? True Rca/Sony didn't promote Adam, but why hasn't anyone else jumped at chance to get such a multi-talented person. The funny thing is the ex has such support at home, regardless of association with Adam, so why can't America do the same for Adam? Don't want to see Adam become a cartoon of himself, always involved with someone elses music/projects but not getting his own out there. Sure he has enough money socked away for life, but that has to be sour grapes when you seem shut out of the big game.

10:28 I can't figure out what PHM stands for either so don't feel bad. lol If you find out let me know.
