The S8 AI concert tour was quite wild, considered supposedly to be a family oriented show. Swinging of pink bras and small springing briefs, panties, kicking of dildos and straddling the microphone...lol! But I enjoyed those videos tremendously. I remember every morning I would make a beeline for what Adam would bring on his AI S8 videos. Well, as I've said before, nothing is free. Adam did pay handsomely at his AMA performance; because one of the reasons cited was he was doing it for his fans who he thought liked sexiness as signalled to him at the AI concert tour. But it's okay, Adam never regretted the hefty price he paid because like he said that's what he is and he can't change that for anyone. Oh but the world saw and took notice! lol! So coming back to nothing is free...it holds water; bearing in mind the flip side of negative is positive. lwl!

Just wishful thinking. . . I wish Adam didn't spend his youth as club kid but went straight to Idol at the start of the show. I didn't really like this club kid acts of too much gyration.
He could have auditioned for Idol much earlier without experiencing the club acts which became his persona which to a lot of people is too gay.
Success would have been easier to reach.

Loving Adam just the way he is !

I miss a bit "sexy " Adam with all these gyrations in the season 8 Idol tour... and what was Allison doing to Adam behind his back ? LOL...

12:31 you are 'too annoying'. so tired of all the judgmental statements about 'too anything'

Anonymous said...

@12:31 I totally disagree with you. If Adam had not experienced the underground club sceene he would not be the same. He would not have the great showman stage presence that he is known for. I love Adam just the way he is. We don't need anothe Josh Groban, or Clay Aiken good singers in their own right, but no stage presence. I'll take Adam and all of antics any day.

Anonymous said...

7:00, I agree completely. I want the Adam we know and love, the sexy as hell Adam who honed his skils in the clubs and became a unique performer. With all the controversy and the choices he has made, both good and bad, he is the most fascinating person in show business to me. He's taught us all so much. His open sexuality has been a real learning experience for many people. I saw his Idol tour performance in Chicago and was blown away. I knew he was something special. Groban and Aiken are just "nice." Give me the sexy, smart, sassy Adam any time!

@12:31 AM
You're to homophobic.

Anonymous said...

@7:26
Calling some one a name, for having their own opinion, is what Adam is trying so hard to make you stop doing. You are not listening to Adam, he has had enough name calling and wishes others would stop, it hurts. Love and peace.

Anonymous said...

If you're going to talk like a homophob, you should have no problem with people recognizing the syndrome.

Anonymous said...

@7:44 AM Do you really think it's not hurtful to Adam (and his real fans) when you claim to be a fan and publicly call him out as being too gay?

Anonymous said...

RESPECT other people's opinions. WORD! I wish Adam to see these older videos and head back to that look a little or a LOT.Begging

I love this... It sure brings back memories . Adam has came a long way from that boy singing "Let's Dance"... On the idol tour.... To the man singing it at Nile Rodgers dance party....with the man himself on guitar....it's been an incredible journey and I feel honored to been allowed to follow along.....thats why it doesn't bother me when others think I'm crazy or give me grief about Adam.... I don't really understand why ....nor do I care why ...he makes me so happy I just know he does ... couldnt imagine the last few years with out him.....now I think I need to go rest awhile I've watched the video to many times ...my heart is racing .... my eyes are bugged out and I can't wipe this stupid grin off my face....rose petal

@ 8:03
You don't have to say it out loud. Name calling is name calling. There is a lot of truth in what 12:31 says, but it happened, and Adam is paying for it. It's a fact in his life , not an opinion. He was searching for other people who were gay like him, and at the time he thought this was the answer that would bring happiness, which it did. But it came back to bite him when he wanted to go mainstream.
He had no idea that middle America, would not like his life style. Middle America will not change, it's sad since he has so much to offer with his talent. Glee will add some new fans, because of Adam, and lose a few, because of Adam. The same thing would have happened if he was made a judge on Idol. Don't ever expect life to be fair, cuz it ain't.

ONE ND only adam lambert mr. perfectionist-he has the voice and the looks wow .

Anonymous said...

I love Adam even with all his imperfections. In fact I probably love him even more because of all his lovely imperfections. They give him character and make him interesting and exciting and even a little dangerous. I just adore him exactly as he is!!! I hope he always stays true to himself!..LB

Lol. Fans imagining that anything said here affects adam in any way are so hilarious.

Anonymous said...

I do think he lurks occasionally, on sites like this, where people are so open with their opinions of him. He does get bored on some of his numerous flights, so he often has time to lurk.

Well it isn't like the only two choices he had were being a club kid and being josh groban. If adam had worked on becoming an artist, learned to play instruments, figure out a sound, how to write music and made that a priority he could have been another Bruno mars or justin timberlake. Instead he made partying his priority. That's what he is paying the price for. It has nothing to do with being gay. And partying didn't make him a great performer.

I totally enjoyed adam lambert in american idol,it was fun!..just wanna chip in something 'please'

The other time michelle obama called beyonce a role model to young ladies, a lot of people said it was wrong,my mum said same thing but i remember my dad saying it was cool.his argument was 'the manner of which she carries herself and power thru life,is something he wants his kids to emulate'.
Just wanna ask a sincere question to peeps here with kids, would you want your child see adam as a rolemodel?.
True we do not know these celebrities well and adam seems to be a cool guy,but you know what 'our perception of these people is often times a reality for us'the reality might be right or wrong.
NB; sorry if my post is damn too long, read through if you can, comment or ignore but do not call me names,i'm not in that mood

Anonymous said...

Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake are totally boring, Adam stands way above them with his voice and stage presence. As far as Adam being a party boy, it's his life and at least he's had a good time enjoying himself, too much work makes Jack a dull boy and Jill a dull girl and no one wants a dull celebrity. Adam is very happy being himself and it's a pity more of us can't say the same, life is way too short and shouldn't be compromised.

YES ADAM where is the leather -rhinestones and feathers!???? C'MON back to the GLAM

Hey doll;10 :58 am
i am a mother of a hyber active 4 year old. There is really no straight answer to your question; when my son is of age, i am so gonna be careful about those he sees as a role model!.but you cant deny that there a certain qualities in adam, that should be admired; his positivity, supports his colleagues and has donated lots of stuffs to charity. I am not a club person, adam seems like one and i am not going to judge him for doing whatever he feels relaxes him ( am not implying you are judging him).
A lot peeps seems to portray adam as a clubber with no ambition and that is not fair, so i implore you, when you have kids, teach them values and what they should admire and emulate from celebrities, and you are right perception is totally differnt from reality.i hope i answered your question?

Here we go again. "Adam I love you but.......you should do this, you should do that...you should have done this...you should have done that... You should not have done this ...You should not have done that. Because I love you but...I really want you to be someone who you are not. That way you could be just like someone else....Because you aren't okay just the way you are."

Yes, you have a right to feel that way. I understand the reasons behind it. We all want Adam to be wildly successful, we want everyone to "get" him. We want him to be accepted. So very true.

But in spite of all of that, Adam Lambert is a very special, unique and talented man, who arrived on the music scene at a time that was probably EXACTLY right for him in his journey. He has said that himself. That he wasn't ready to appear on American Idol until that time. He was ready for a change in his professional (and ultimately his personal) life. He was ready to take it to the next level. To get a chance to get his music out there. For the people who might enjoy it. He also knew it was now or never for Idol, because of the age cut off requirement. Be young or be gone.

He's taken some self-admitted stumbles along the way, but I doubt very much that he wants to be just like any other performer. He had been working during his late teens and early to mid 20's to discover who he was, to develop his skills and his own personal identity and to be comfortable with and proud of his sexual orientation. In the LA/West Hollywood club scene/music community/theater community he found acceptance, long lasting friendships, connections, and ultimately the courage to be who he is as a human being. He found himself along the way. He worked hard (he didn't just go clubbing for heaven's sake!), he played hard, and here he is today, doing pretty darn well for himself. And with much confidence, skill, and knowledge, all gathered along the way.

Becoming successful and famous at an early age isn't always the best way to go (we see evidence in that in some of the young stars who are now leading very troubled lives at the moment, whose shall remain nameless, but we all know who they are......)..Adam had a chance to mature a bit, be on his own, he lived in a roach infested apartment, eventually earned his own way, he travelled the world, experienced other ways of thinking, other cultures, and finally arrived at a certain level of success in his late 20's. He's been able to stay grounded and stays close to many of his friends that he has met along the way. Those good and wise people, including his family, who believe in him and encouraged him to audition for Idol, among other things. At a time when he was finally ready to meet the world head on.

In the process, and through his years of musical theater performing, he learned to use that wonderful built-in musical instrument that he possesses, his voice, to the best of his ability. (He also found his "other" Voice, the courage of his convictions, to speak out in support of Equality, anti-bullying...)..

(And a few more words to follow....:)))

glitzylady said...

The "few more words" :))

There are a whole multitude of singers/performers who never show us anything in the way of musical instrument skills, at least while singing. Adam's voice is his instrument. Yes, Bruno Mars plays instruments: I saw his fabulous show recently. (Yes, I enjoy and support other artists***And YES Adam is an artist too****) With Bruno's success and big budget, he can really do it up right. The fact that he played a couple of instruments a couple of times on stage was a side note for me. I was there to hear him sing and watch the show.

That's all I expect from Adam as well: to sing. Beautifully. Fabulously. Joyfully. Effortlessly. Emotionally. Passionately. Perfectly. He can sit on a stool on stage, sing acapella for hours and I'll be happy. But I have to say that when I went to the Season 8 Idol Tour, my first ever, and with the express purpose of seeing Adam Lambert live and in person (along with a whole arena full of people there to see Adam also..), I loved seeing him in all of his beautiful, crazy, exuberant, happy to be alive MusicalTheater/WeHoClubKid/BurningMan/ZodiacShow/ProbableDirectLineToTheUniverse glory. He wasn't quite as polished, professional, and sometimes reined in, as he is now..but we were seeing Adam up there on stage, in front of thousands of people every night, doing what he LOVES and does best: Sing, dance a bit, entertain, and just be Adam. And sometimes be sexy-as-hell Adam. Like in the video above. At the Idol Tour 2009 in Tacoma, just hearing his intro music made me feel like my heart and head were going to explode. Just knowing that in a few seconds (seeming like hours at that moment in time, waiting to see ADAM come out on stage)..: The anticipation of that was almost overwhelming. And it wasn't just me: the screaming, the foot stomping, the clapping was happening everywhere in that arena, as it did on every other Idol Tour stop that year... I've never felt anything like it before or since. Un-f***ing-believable!

Adam is not everyone's cup of tea I suppose, but he never said he was. He's definitely MY cup of tea. He will evolve as a performer as he choses to do so. On his own terms, in his own way. I can hardly wait to see where that takes him..and us as fans...next.

Sorry, just had to say that :)))

I think Josh Grobin is gorgeous. He doesn't have to gyrate. LOL

Adam doesn't either, in my opinion. I think when Adam tries to be sexy with all the hip thrusting and gyrating, it backfires and looks laughable. For instance, at the Fantasy Springs concert(last one), he started rubbing up against a speaker like it was a stripper pole. I actually found myself giggling, it looked so silly. Go back and look at it and tell me if you honestly think that was sexy. Adam doesn't have to do all that stuff. He's sexy just standing there.

Anonymous said...

Well said, glitzy. Once again you have read my mind. Adam doesn't have to play an instrument to prove his worth or his talent. His instrument is his voice. Anything more would just get in the way. He has honed his skills in so many ways through the years, even starting with his theater work as a child. He is very unconventional in his public and private life. It's why I love him so. His so-called mistakes and lapses in judgement are the choices he made. They are part of his journey. We'd all love for him to be on top of the music heap. But most of us here are not going to abandon him because he is not.

As for being a role model, I would say this. Adam has displayed honesty, courage, loyalty, joy, hard work, tenacity, patience, stamina and talent, among many other positive traits. Above all, he has remained true to himself in the face of public bashing, cruel remarks, snubs by the music industry and more. He has handled it with class and intelligent responses. He's no saint, but would he make a good role model? I think so. There are plenty of people in my life who don't even come close.

The "shoulda, woulda, coulda"' days are over. I'm looking forward, not back, and I would guess Adam is, too.

abbigail, I agree that Adam is sexy just standing there. But he is an exceptionally sexy man and that part of him is very natural to his performances. It suits him. I love when he is bging sexy onstage. It fits his personality. It's not silly or embarrassing to me at all. It's just plain SEXY. I don't think he could turn it off if he tried. Nor should he. He adapts to the circumstance. BTW, I love Josh Groban's voice and he's a great performer. But he couldn't do a show like Adam's, and Adam could not do a show like Josh's. They are two entirely different performers who shouldn't be compared for their stage styles. They both have amazing voices. I dont' want Adam to be like anybody else. We can enjoy them both.

@Abbigail - at least he didn't make you barf and run screeming from the room. Congrats on your self control.

Even if a person could change the past, you can't know what would have followed. It could even have turned out worse. To those who got nothing else to do or say except what Adam should have or not have done, I say, go examine your own life and get it on track. There is no way you're anywhere near as good a person as Adam. You wouldn't be dissing him if you were.

Josh G. Is an ok looking guy in my opinion. If I saw him on the street I think he was just Jo average not give him another glance most likely. He very talented but no looker in my opinion.if I saw Adam did not know who he was and of course I would I would say oh my god that man is gorgeous and he is a stunning man. When he smiles he lights up a room and his personality is so great. That's also one thing JG he has a personality. I watched all fantasy springs vids. Found non silly I loved them in all their glory. Sometimes he goes for the goofy. Even if he not going for goofy it may come off that way once in awhile but that's all fun thank god he not boring. Most his dance moves are natural and sexy but who cares its Adam he exciting he crazy talented and he never boring. Adam playing an instrument would not work. That would take away from his carefree way on stage and he great there. I entitled to my opinion as well as all of you. G Sue

@abigail
Adam loves to get sexy on stage, but have you noticed that he also cracks himself up, laughs at himself sometimes?? He really doesn't take his sexiness all that seriously. Seriously :)) Gotta love him for that! I think he's sexy as hell at times..Including when he's just standing there. Doing nothing. Just being. And his over-the-top speaker/mic humping self just has to make an appearance sometimes. I suspect that we may not see that as much in the coming years, as his onstage persona evolves, but it's been a great big bunch of fun and a crazy adventure up until now.

I was there at Fantasy Springs 2, and FS 1 as well, and that was one totally nuts, over the top, fun as hell night for all who were there (except maybe for those high roller front row VIP casino people who Adam **suggested** that they get the hell up and dance or make room for his fans :)))))) . It was like a great big crazy party for Adam and his fans. And I loved every second of it. His mom was there, his boyfriend was there, many of his good LA friends were there, and he was loving it too... And so were we.

One more thing: I was at the last GNT in LA, at Club Nokia, in the balcony, just a couple of seats behind and to the left of Eber Lambert (and the rest of Adam's friends and family..). Adam was also obviously pretty **excited**, happy to be there, and wild and crazy that night. And when he was being his wildest and craziest (and sexiest..) I glanced down to see Eber smiling, laughing and I assume thinking "That's my boy...."..

Adam makes us smile, even at his most sexy/crazy/over-the-top-iest. All of us....including himself. Just enjoy :))) I do...

Waaay back we said that Adams past has come around to bite him, from trying to be mainstream. He looks like he is trying to make his persona more pleasing to the average public. Gone is the glam, feathers and sparkles and eye liner. Now we see him dressed more fashionably and a clean face, and yet in his own way still be very sexy. He is still trying very hard to make it in this brutal business. Yes Miley won't have any problems, but Adam did, and still does. Hoping Niles cd, will help get Adam on the radio. Also hoping he will do some more collab with Avicii and Niles.

Anon 10:58 am ; listen to your dad, sounds like a wise man.
No body really sees a lot of these celebs as role models. The simple truth is we adore them and are fascinated by them. As we grow along we either grow out of the fascination or simply continue in it. About adam's clubbing, let him without sin, cast the first stone!

Anonymous said...

Adam has said he would rather be himself than be a bigger star, how important that is to him. Some of you want more for him than he wants at the expense of his happiness. Time to rethink if you want it for Adam or yourself.

PS Adam sliding down the speakers was super sexy.
