"LAY ME DOWN" Clearest Audio

Lilybop2012:

This blended audio is from the August 19 Nile Rodgers charity show at Martha Clara Vineyard, Riverhead, NY, to support AFTEE, where Adam Lambert, Aviccii, Nile and others performed. Avicii spun Lay Me Down at the end of the show. Audio is pretty clear, combining @robininny NightbirdsObsession's, which was missing the beginning, and TALC's. The words are much clearer than before. Screencaps are mine, from TALC videos. Enjoy! Please use headphones or earbuds!

Yes I feel Adam may have hit the jackpot, Lay Me Down. Avicii did a really good job; ooze it, boom it and manoeuvre it; he's very adept at the key/sound board. Nile, Avicii, Adam, three together each having their own massive audience appeal and command will soar to the zenith.

After catching a little of each of the morning shows here in NJ(GMA, Today and Good Day NY), boy bands appeared on all three shows for their Friday concerts. That's what's popular in music now and brings the young fans to buy albums and concert tickets. Even though Adam is so talented with the best voice in music today, unfortunately it just seems the odds are against him to have a hit song. Will this one with Nile and and Aviici do it, who knows? I hope so. It might be great for clubs, but radio play is another story. Hopefully with a third album in the process, his appearances on Glee and the concert with Queen in Vegas, Adam will gain the superstardom and success that we want for him here at home.

@ 6:25 AM,

I don't wanna be rude to your comments about these young group of generation this morning. They are young and kids love it for sure!!:)

Adam is different and unique..!:) His music is for people who really understand what music about!!:)

I could say that mostly of his fans are for quality music and talent!!:)

Adam isn't comparable to anyone in my opinion.

He is an INTERNATINAL SUPERSTAR and nothing can change that...!:)

I'm just happy to see the diversity of his fans, from young and old!!!:) How can you top that he!he!

No complain at all!!:)

6:25, I completely understand what you're saying about the success of boy bands (or sometimes boys who just sing and don't play instruments, which means they are not a band). Young fans always love cute guys who are pretty much their own age. BUT, Adam isn't the only solo artist out there. There are plenty of singers who are not part of a boy band, and many are doing well. Adam is holding his own in this big mix of artists. He's doing it my himself and on his own merits. Here's to the boy bands, too! I know I have loved my share of boy bands over the years.

Forgot to add: I love seeing the lyrics printed for LMD. It helps a lot. The song really has Adam's stamp on it with lyrics that reflect him. Hope it gets played a LOT.

Anonymous said...

I really like the lyrics. Yes, I agree they definitely sound like Adam's style. I like LMD very much because it is catchy both in beat, lyrics and of course Adam's vocals. Today the younger generation is into EDM so this song has it all.

Thanks so much for printing the lyrics because I really couldn't understand many of them before.

It's very unique, IMO, to have those Nile Rodgers funky guitar riffs in the middle of an EDM song plus Adam's incredible vocals...hope this is released as a single!

Anonymous said...

The young people want boy bands, the young people want EDM. LOL.

Anonymous said...

Lay Me Down has a great hook and I just love the lyrics added with Nile's funky guitar and Avicii's EDM it's a winner and does sound like what radio plays. Believe me boy bands come and go,they grow up and the teens move on to others. Adam is a true artist, a solo artist that will be around for the long haul.

Anonymous said...

Justin Timberlake was in a boy band and he is more of an artist than adam will ever be. Also an amazing dancer and actor

Anonymous said...

And justin plays multiple imstruments. If adam ever wanted to be taken seriously as a songwriter he would have sat his lazy ass down and learned to play piano or guitar.

Anonymous said...

Since you obviously can't accept Adam for who he is, you get off your lazy ass and go where somebody actually wants to hear from you.

No thanks. I am gonna stay right here and point out what idiots you are every single day.

Anonymous said...

Too bad JT's voice is HARDLY amazing, hardly!! I love Timberlake, let me make that clear, but his voice isn't even in the same league as Adam's, not even close. And quite frankly, imho opinion, neither is his innate deep down musicianship in the same league as Adam's. Perhaps Adam will show major acting chops in time, just as JT showed OVER TIIME, a LONG time. JT dances when heavily CHOREOGRAPHED, fact, look it up. Adam could probably be successful if as heavily choreographed as JT too (and quite frankly, Adam's ORGANIC dance moves melt me much faster and easily than JT's!! And again, I really dig JT, just stating the truth for myself).

I am sorry to take a tone, I don't mean to... just putting out the deal as I see it. Just my POV.

@9:34, then you have a very hollow and empty life imho. If your schedule allows for you to have the time to do what you just put forth, then I feel badly for you. Maybe some of us on this blog are wearing rose colored glasses, maybe we are here because we are lonely, or feeling empty momentarily, or maybe we are just here to share a sense of community over a pop culture phenomena we've fallen into and can't quite explain to others... maybe we are even here because we are bored.... but I'd suspect most of us are not here to revel in the sort of idea and practice you just espoused at 9:34. I agree adam has an amazing voice, I don't dispute that for a second, and a charming personality. But he has not shown himself to be an artist, a musician or a songwriter. He had tons of very high level people working on his albums.. Right now he is a singer of other people's music. With queen, with avicii, on glee. That's probably right where he should be.

People acting like other artists are not doing real quality music in comparison to adam are just ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

When it comes to vocals and stage presence no one and I mean no one even comes close to Adam Lambert. He does not need a damn instrument in his case it would distract from what he does on stage and what he does on stage is second to none. His voice is superior to JT. He doing Glee and in time he will be a good actor with practice JT been in the business a lot longer was not that good of actor at first. I not putting down JT because he not the one making stupid comment's. Your same one came on here with how huge JB was how you loved him. You do not give a crap your a troll on here to cause trouble that all you are. Everything you say just like that three lettered troll is a big load if cat dropping. Anonymous said...

My God I am so glad we have a troll on here that has been in the studio recording and writing with Adam.

Anonymous said...

Adam a fantastic song writer and you do not need an instrument to write a song. He got plenty of them who can play a terrific instrument but cannot sing. Yes lol I up from a nap you stupid troll. I got other problems facing me the end of this month do not need these stupid trolls in my life. Somehow I just have to react to the brain dead here. I figured lol was behind it not that one lol is responsible for most nasty post. Just a pitiful troll that got it out for Adam and he could care less about people like her it whatever. Now she will proceed to call me every name in the book. I consider being called hateful names an honor by a lol type troll, yes those 3 letter are your tag troll. Your so predictable what your gonna say no imagination most trolls have no life no imagination just sad people such as 10.18. And 9.34. Sue

Anonymous said...

Adam's instrument is his voice. Lots of singers don't write their own songs or play a musical instrument. It takes nothing awasy from him that he only uses his voice. IMO, being able to play an instrumetn doesn't necessaily make you a good songwriter. I love JT as a performer, actor, even a singer, although he doesn't have a voice like Adam's. JT been in the business a long time and has developed along the way. Actually, to me, Adam playing an instrument while performing would only detract from him stqge presence. Let each performer do what they do best. Adam sings. It's his best skill.

Adam has been acknowledged by experts to have a voice that is unparalleled and unique......with unbelievable range and quality. When people like Nile and Queen also praise his vocal ability that pretty well says it all.
I was a big fan of Elvis and spent some time listening to him yesterday..........lot's of comparisons can be made between Elvis and Adam but IMO Adam has the better voice. I feel lucky that I can follow this amazing artist and enjoy his wonderful talent.

@ GMT......hi!......JAK here......Elvis was The Singer in my 20's, loved his music and still do. You are right that Adam's voice is superior, trained whereas Elvis just had a naturally pleasant range. It's sort of like comparing apples and oranges both great but different. Elvis is my go-to guy when I'm feeling really bad. I crawl in bed, put on his gospel music and feel all cosy and warm and peaceful. When I feel better I listen to Hunk a Hunk of Burning Love!!!!!

'Scuse me ms. or mr. @Anon 10:20 AM person, but someone can be an "artist" and not play one lick of music. Or write each and every song they sing either. Some people are great at writing music, others not as much. Others write some, and use some other writers as well.

BTW, Adam has said that he took some piano lessons when he was a kid. He can probably plunk out a tune if he needs to when writing on some music. And there's always his years-of-vocal-lessons-and-years-of-real-world-vocal-experience that are worth more than a little something when it comes to writing music. All one needs is to feel the music, hear it in your head, both the tune and the words. Someone else can help put down the notes on paper. He can also work with someone to flesh out the music. Many singers/artists have writing teams. It doesn't make them any less an "artist" one way or another...

There are a whole lot of people who consider Adam to be an artist, and they aren't just us lowly fans. Yes, Justin Timberlake is multi-talented and I enjoy his work. He's great. I'm not gonna put him down like you're doing to Adam. But Adam's got him beat for his vocal abilities as far as I'm concerned. I suspect that perhaps even JT would agree with me on that to be honest.... But whatever floats your boat, as the old saying goes.......

One last thing: I don't give a flying F*** who writes Adam's music. As long as he's SINGING it, I'm happy. And singing it live, on stage, in front of me, I'm ecstatic. Because Adam is an artist. He's very very VERY good at what he does. He sings beautifully to say the very least. He's creative in his performances. Each time, something new added: changed up vocals, a new take on the song...and the joy he obviously experiences when he's performing live. Every time. That's artistry. Period.

To quote Nile Rogers:
"...and he's a genius, he's amazing, one day the world will understand."

Nile has been around for a long time, has worked with the greats over the years, and is an artist in his own right. He knows "genius"...and artistry...when he sees it. I suspect he'd disagree with your line of "reasoning" re Adam.

Keep on dissing Adam, go right ahead, because I'm not listening.......

JAK sweetheart I love you but I kind of getting tired of playing nice with these dog poo's. I not feeling well and I tired of this nonsense. Adam Lambert in his little pinky than most artist today. Lot of great instrument musicians sing but poorly. Adam is multi talented I say do one thing and do it better than most anyone. He a natural dancer and he writes songs well with other artists and himself. He obviously has something special to evoke so much passion. I sorry but I don't apologize for what I said I just felt it. That correction was Adam has more talent in his little pinky than many artist today. Sue

glitzylady said...

My comment is also directed to @Anon 9:17 AM and @Anon 9:21 AM...

@JAK
I know I shouldn't respond that that stuff...but my passion and respect for Adam both as a person and an artist just gets the better of me sometimes. :)))

Anonymous said...

Lol glitzy granny. So predictable. So hilarious.

Instead of spending his twenties working on Music and developing a musical identify adam spend all his spare time in gay bars. Compare that to the many kids off idol who put out indie records while trying to get noticed.
Adam came off the show with a ton of buzz and promotion and didn't have a clue what to do with all those opportunities.

You know who doesn't think adam is an artist? The music executives at Sony. That's why he doesn't have a label. That's why I doubt there will ever be an era 3.

Anonymous said...

Sue you make me laugh so hard. Tears are running down my face.

GMT

I agree with you about Adams voice. That makes him a good vocalist but not an artist who can create a significant body of original work.

Anonymous said...

nancdruuu2 Here. I had a pretty eventful week, so I thought I might as well get in the mix. @12:41 PM - Do you not consider Celine Dion an artist with a body of work. She admits to never writing a lick of music yet most artists are afraid to sing with her. For example, Cher said no way would she ever sing with Celine. Your definition of artist may be different than mine. A true artist is one who rises about the rest. When you hear him sing, he takes you to places no one else can. You can't hear a pin drop because of the beauty of his instrument. Now, let's take the Beach Boys for example. Huge body of songs, popular worldwide, plenty of money made and you could call Brian Wilson a genius. The Beetles, Michael Jackson, same thing. But, much as I love the artists mentioned, no one gives me such pure joy and emotion as Adam Lambert the artist. And by the way, I love Adam's music writing.
Adam is new at writing music, yes. But he is just beginning writing. Knowing Adam, he will add that skill to all the other gems in the treasure chest that is Lambert.
Just my opinion. Peace Out!

Anonymous said...

To 12:41 - I think Adam would say "what do you want from me?" Some people love his music and some people hate it. I love his music and admire his talent as singer and writer. And so does many many others...

If you admire JT its ok but you should move on to praise him in his fansites.

And LMD- I like it more every time I hear it.

10.12 Adam is a very good artist and he wrote a lot on trespassing that praised by many that know way more than yourself. Why would Queen huge Icon's want Adam if he was not the best I quite sure they could fine someone else like Paul Rodgers and the guy in the tribute band or someone else they want Adam. They have said he a genius with a one in a million voice, many artists do not write a damn thing no one cares. The fact that he was just writing and singing with big names shows you wrong he said he was writing. He got on Glee not because he only could do duets with other because he a great singer and has Bryan M. Said the very talented Adam Lambert. He could just sing what others write like many artist but he working on a skill and in time he will be very good at it. Nile's obviously see Adam's great potential he will only get better at what he does. He a terrific live performer he doe not belong just writing and performing for other but himself as well. You think performing for huge Icon talents is nothing it's a great honor. That was one in 100, million correction.your post was beyond ridiculous. He sings and helps out friends like Niles with a couple if songsmiths not make him a singer if other songs only good lord. glee needs great singers singing in there just makes him a tv personality who playing a tole not just singer if others songs guess everyone else on there is to. He said he working on his own songs to whoever does not think so who cares. Going dr. A lot next week be more fun than this post is. I would not call people ridiculous when your comments are.Adam has way more talent than what your talking about. I think queen and NR know a lot more about talent than most if us and sure reignite Adams. It takes time for new music if you write it with help everyone has it. In the mean time he will do some work on the side does it make him a singer if others songs. All artist many do,sing with and sometimes do songs on other albums, especially collaborations. Have fun nasty people I had it here! Sue

I don't really pay attention to Celine but I think of her as just a singer of soundtrack type songs. She is not my idea of an artist. Certainly brian Wilson, Michael Jackson, John Lennon are huge artists.

12:30, Apparently you don't like Adam and don't respect him. I don't know why you even bother to comment here. Adam spent his teens and twenties doing musical theater, most of it professional. That's not just sitting around doing nothing. Adam also tried to get a record contract in his twenties. He worked in studios and had an agent. He did what you say many of the Idol contestants did. Like them, he tried Idol as a way to breath through, and, despite what you say, he has accomplished more than most. Many singers lose their labels and move on. I think Katy Perry went through four labels. It has nothing to do with lack of talent. I don't think any label would deny Adam's talent. Like most singers, he needs effective promotion, marketing and music that has that lucky charm.
BTW, after Idol, Adam took every opportunity he could. And maybe you have forgotten this fact: Adam is still the only Idol alum to star in his own solo tour in promotion of his first album. He did it in the U.S. and world-wide. Luck has a lot to do with success, but Adam's work ethic is strong.

It sounds like you actively dislike and disrespect Adam, and you apparently enjoy spreadiing your negativity to his fans here. Why not spend time follwing someone you don't dislike so much?

You might have a bit of merit in your points... but then I think, wait a minute... Adam honed his craft, in small ways and then not so small ways, in local theatre, regional productions, with Citizen Vein (was that not an "Indie like" attempt?), with Zodiac, at Upright Cabatet... what am I missing about his not "working at it". You can make some points about him not learning an instrument etc. ... but then you negate any validity I may grant you by the downright inaccuracies of your post I am addressing right now. But whatevs dude. Whatever gets you to sleep at night. And btw, I did one fuck ton of partying in my 20's, which are not far behind me ... and all the while rose to a position in my vocation that makes my family proud every single day!

He didn't work at songwriting or original, music to any extent. He focused on theater and then he had some fantasy of living the rock star life without the musical identity to,support it. He should have just focused on some music area like theater or classical which would showcase his voice and not require creativity.

Too much ugliness and negativity on this site today. But it seems that with the latest in the news about the senseless killings of an Australian college student in OK and and a WW II vet by young men who are bored, just makes some of the comments here so pointless and stupid. What are we doing to each other in this civilized nation with such uncivilized acts? We are talking about a talented singer who is just trying to have a successful career in the music business and it stirs up all this ugliness from certain individuals. Give it a rest already and do something positive and good in life for those around you. If you want to criticize music, look at the hip hop songs, , lyrics and gangsta life style that is glamorized in today's videos by specific performers. Is this what many of today's young people are holding up as role models? Don't get me started on this topic or I will bust a vein. So I guess I will just continue to be an Adam fan and wait for the next phase of his career as it develops.
