This is an anthem song for those who are different and society puts them down. An anti-bullying anthem. Very nice!

Thank you 4:41 for your confidence and 4:25 for the very interesting video which is brand new to me. I knew vaguely Adam was doing something with Nikka, even commented on that but never followed up on it.
This song is sending out a very strong message, not to give up the fight. In desperation people can identify with the...Hold On...plead or someone in dire straits, it might even save his/her life; because the constant...Hold On...sung with such great passion by Adam is pleading with the person to hold on and give it more time for the dust to settle and be in a stronger frame of mind to grapple the problem. It's not just referring to gay people but to everyone especially the down-trodden and bullied. Even to ordinary people making difficult decisions to stand back a bit before deciding on a point of no return. He could have sung that in his It Gets Better video because it gives strength and I'm not referring to gay people only. I've given such advice to some people and myself as well, at a crossroad situation, to give it more thought and patience, rather than do so on impulse to regret later; by which time it may be too late. And if holding on still doesn't bring about the desired outcome...at least I can say I had given it a helluva of a fight and that actually is the crux of the whole matter. As for the melody, on first hearing, may not have grabbed my attention but Adam's voice always does.

Have you noticed at the beginning of this song, he says I'm alone? Just hearing this right at the beginning rips my heart. Gives me lumps in my throat. He tells his side of the story to this 'you' who feels as an outcast but then he tells this 'you' that don't feel bad cause 'we' are on a mission to combat this 'they' who call us misfit. Adam as a counselor giving healing advise to an outcast.

This song should be a theme song of a movie or that Friend Movement org. should have used this song instead of Roar.

First....thanks @ daydreamin...you're so sweet..

Second....I needed a break because a medical problem which has been plaguing me since June was
SO PAINFUL and frustrating I couldn't handle that and getting pissed off here at the same time!
I've peeked in every day or so to keep up on news and even tapped the keyboard a couple times (you know I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut). I scan threads and at the first sign of discord I scoot. So mostly I've scooted....a lot!

Third....in the midst of misdiagnoses (1st...TMJ and a few others, it now seems I have Trigeminal Neuralgia).
Note....don't EVER get it....you want to rip your
face off, jaw first! PAIN no narcotic helps! I've tried all.
............as I was saying...in the midst I was commissioned to decorate an apartment....given an limitless credit card and told to spend as much as I wanted, just make the place fabulous! That makes me forget the thoughts of jumping off the Sunshine Skyway Bridge....spending lots of money is therapeutic !

Fourth...if I live I'll be back....unless I decide to use the credit card and buy a palazzo in Venice on the Grand Canal.

Fifth....I couldn't improve on @ Lam-my's take on Hold On.......but I agree with @ 8:57 about the music. It sounds like an anthem or march song for a "cause".
Moral or political!! Signs and banners!! See ya!

Talking about having Ad back. Yes I commented a few times and did not sign last couple days. I just was so tired of being called out and insulted. It gets old. But it's so hard for me to bare the awful things said about such a sweet man as Adam. They are so unfounded and ridiculous. It kills me to hear them so I fight the dreadful comments. But, I gonna try and stop that it is just futile. Adam will be fine. I just do not get what these people get out of it. Trying to bring down a talented, kind. Guy like Adam who would hurt no one. I get so mad and I just cannot stand the way he treated. I hope all of you do have his back. No one should be allowed to talk about him on this fan site like they do. It's better to have 5 positive posts than 500 crappy posts if you ask me. But who cares what I think. Ill let cooler heads prevail. Good night Sue

Hi @JAK ... I wonder if Botox injections might help? You've talked of migraines before (not surprising if you are dealing with Trigeminal Neuralgia) and Botox has helped that condition so much it is now covered by insurance. The injections are all over the forward and scalp, including the large muscles connecting the jaw to the scalp. Worth a try if you haven't yet.

Such ever-present pain can be exhausting and depressing. It's good to read the UPLIFTING threads here to boost you spirits. And your sense of humor certainly boosts ours! Wishing you all the best. Take care!

I guess I've never heard "Hold On" before. Like many comments here, I think the video is really good, and I like the lyrics displayed so I can understand everything being sung. Great song and message.

(But, 8:33 pm, I agree the lyrics could be a bit smaller - too much blocking of Adam! But then, we should just make our own videos if we have complaints. haha!)
