Yes, please retweet Ryan's original tweet with a comment about loving Adam. Good for Ryan and others who follow him, including TPTB, to see the interest in Adam.
Wasn't something posted the other day where Adam was #1; from th Idol forms or somthing related to Adam; or was it the number one song on of all times on Idol which was Mad World?
This is great though for Adam; any such list where his is up at or near the top.
This is great for Adam; and for Idol too; Ryan is smart; good way to get all the fans of different past Idols to watch the show's premire night so it will not be a ratings disaster. Mention Adam, and of course we will be there; I know I will. I hope they have him on entertaining as much as possible also. I hope they show more than just a minute of the past Idols. I will DVR it so I don't miss Adam.
This is a silly list and means nothing. Leaving adam out of it, fantasia has been very successful and isn't on this list while Elliot yamin and kris allen are. Other than the top 3 there are a lot of different ways this list could have gone, equally logical.
Adam isn't going to be on the premiere. You are going to watch the show because they tweeted this list? Lol
@Anon 2:08 PM
I personally think this list is pretty darn accurate. And coming from Ryan Seacrest.com I think we need to appreciate it and just love the fact that Adam is listed at #4. I know I sure do!!! I glanced over it and thought it made a lot of sense. I'm sure they took a lot of things into consideration before posting it.
2:08 is a Fantasia fan.
Lol they took nothing into consideration except they know adam has online fans who give them hits, Fantasia has won Grammys, been on broadway, had a tv show, and had hit songs on urban radio. Clay has sold millions of albums and been on tv. And they choose Elliot Yamin? Even Constantine has been nominated for a tony. It's just stupid.
Daughtry has been more successful than adam and so has jordin.
Elliot Yamin had a HUGE HIT SONG on the radio a few years ago. Maybe that's why? I heard that song every single day a few years ago.
2 22
Not at all. I'm just a logical person and I hate seeing people take silly things like this seriously.
Celebrate the real things that happen, not every idiotic Internet post
2 34
What country do you live in? I don't think he had a big hit except in Japan.
I get that this is Seacrest & Am Idol, the perspective is soooo solely American... but I wish it wasn't only that, cause from an international perspective Adam is a CLEAR #1!
Then a wide gap and perhaps Daughtrey and David Cook would be # 2 and 3 (not talking about sales, but international appeal and popularity, how well known throughout the world etc)
Adam is the ONLY true star to come out of Am Idol, superstar with international fame & fans!
Oh please, Kelly is by far number one internationally.
LOL, first people complain Ryan doesn't give Adam enough credit and now that it happens people are complaining he shouldn't have gotten it. LOL. Or maybe we've just been invaded by jealous Idol fans.
Since Ryan seems to love Adam so much, I certainly hope that when Adam's next album is released, he gives it radio play and promotes the heck out of it. I realize that Ryan may not have the final word in what gets played because he answers to the high ups, but he can make a sincere effort to give Adam the recognition and support he so deserves.
2:54
LOL
LOL both extremes of the cray came out.
I'm just happy to see Adam so high on the list and tweeted about.
If someone was speaking to me, no I was not going to watch because Adam was on some list; I was going to DVR it; because someone said they would be showing what the top 13 was doing now; and that Adam was #4.
Also, I know that Adam is not going to be on the premire. I was trying to say that I hope Idol has him on later shows as a guest entertainer like they did on almost every other season to up the ratings.
@3:01 PM
You hit the nail on the head. I agree with you 100% about Ryan; I am pretty sure he could do a hell of a lot more in many areas where he could include Adam in all of his many events; and not use Adam's fans just when he needs radion hits from Adam interviews and such. Sorry, don't trust him, when it comes to Adam!
For visibility sake give Ryan's website with Adam's mention hits and likes. It won't hurt. Ryan is an influential figure in entertainment industry and to show support and visibility always helps in the long run. There has been tons of visibility with LGBT around the country. Who knows maybe this time Adam will get the support that he needs from the radio. He worked with well known people in the industry and Grammys posts about him. Adam did tons of leg work to make himself visible by networking with people in the industry. All we can do at this point is to show that he has a loving fanbase. It won't hurt to give hits to Ryan's articles about Adam or to retweets his tweets about Adam.
kC may be a big deal here and yes she one of the few international stars but she is not bigger than Adam!
Asia, Adam sure as it, Finland, Hungary, SA and many more.
It's not all just about being a pop star either, Adam done Diva's , Glee still doing it, PLL lots of TV show appearances here and abroad not to mention being the main front man for Queen for over two years and still going. Adam also the only one to have a worldwide solo concert tour world wide immediately following Idol. Adam world wide as sold well first alb singles alone almost five million .
CA sold his first albums QVC kind of an advantage they can sale millions of rusty nails in an hour great salesman.
CA last alb 4,000, KA 11,000. Adam last alb no. 1. Around 78,000 he may not sold big here abroad he sold well he remained with RCA for 14 months after first album while some parted 3 or 4 months afterwards. He even said after leaving RCA thanks for two successful albums. People still waiting in lines for hours to see him hot or cold.
Saw the other day CA may run for congressman in some state saw on news that's a good thing.
Adam has star power. He has the IT factor. No other Idol alum has that quality, at least to me. I know they are all talented in their own way. I know these lists are rather meaningless. But Adam really stands out in the Idol alum list. Not to mention his social advocacy. Nice that the top Idol alums have diverse careers in theater, film, etc. They are a talented group all around. Considering that Adam is so different and unconventional, it is fantastic that he is considered one of the top alums. The comments below the article are pretty much all Adam-related. Yes, Ryan knows that the Glamberts will post!
DRG
4.28 I was speaking 0f first week sales last album figures that's just America for Adam he international.
4:28, LOL, Kelly Clarkson is definitely bigger than Adam. It's just reality. May not always be that way but right now he can't beat her number of albums, number one hits, sales, income, public awareness, etc, etc. You just look petty by denying it.
@6:01 PM
@4:28 does not look petty, not in my opinion. You are entitled to your opinion also, but you can't state it as a fact. I thought
@4:28 made a very good case in explaining the differences in what she was talking about. She also named the different Countries that she was comparing. I like Kelly Clarkson; but, let's face it; she is no Adam M. Lambert!
Kelly Clarkson may sell a lot more albums than Adam now; and she may always, and many other artist may do the same; so what? Adam Lambert is a Worldwide Superstar; and when Adam Lambert speaks; people listen. Adam has that great big old "IT FACTOR" that just cannot be denied; or swept under the rug! Love this man!
Oh by the way; I know we have all heard of the Glamberts; the most loyal, supportive and protective fans in the wholewide world. Adam M. Lambert, will never walk alone!
if this was based on singing, he should be number 1. Jennifer Hudson at #2.
Most articles call Kelly Clarkson Country/Pop artist. All artists associated with Country genre sell their albums in millions. Adam isn't into country and I assume never will be. Adam is more Pop/Rock artist. He is different and unique. He has world appeal. Two different artists.
@6:47pm the other website yesterday put Adam at no. 1. He is no. 1 in my book.
LOL
Girl...LOL...You were all over the place with your comments today. Are you going through that time of the month? Take a chill pill a little. It ain't that deep, sister. Life should be all about love. Peace!
@2:35PM
"Celebrate the real things that happen, not every idiotic Internet post"
I haven't seen you celebrate any good things that happen to Adam on this website. You should live up to your above comment and show support.
Ryan Seacrest isn't a little idiotic thing on Internet. He has one million followers on his website and over 12 million followers on his twitter account.
Whether you like it or not RS is a successful person in entertainment industry. His support of Adam in any shape or form means a lot.
Have a great weekend!
What is with the rude posts that end with peace or have a great weekend? That doesn't offset everything you said before that.
ok glamberts, you know that adam lambert is International superstar and has fans all over the world!....u do remember right...India glambert;)
8:47pm - 8:43pm ended with "Have a great weekend!" and there was nothing rude in her/his post. Just answering 2:35pm as she thought fit.
Ryan is a force in the entertainment industry and any time he puts up a picture of Adam for an article it's a great thing.
xo laura
Let us also remember KC has been an artist for thirteen years. Adam not even five. Well I think he was born one but I counting from really being in the industry from Idol.
To compare his record sales to KC is pedy and unfair. She has 8 years on him. I think Next two years for Adam are going to be good ones for him.
Believe me Kelkey has had her ups and downs through the years.
Actually I believe CU sold more records. But like many have said its not all about records. Adam smart and knows its a good thing to have many irons in the fire. Such as Glee, Queen, and of course new music and more. 4.28 here!
KC and CU are big because they both tapped into country genre. They both get huge support from people that listen to this type of music. Both winner of a show that has a huge support from listeners of country music. They are both cookie cutters girls next door.
Adam made it all the way to the top of this show that has a huge viewers' ratings from middle and southern part of the country. He did it purely because of his talent and until today medias can't stop to talk about his amazing AI performances.
Adam is talented musically, he knows how to communicate and network, he loves to socialize with people, he is outgoing, he is smart, he knows how to carry himself both physically and emotionally.
Despite of all the negatives he received from people that don't accept him, he came out victorious. I'm honored and humble to be a fan of such an amazing individual.
HIS CHARACTER worths millions of times more than all the millions of albums sold worldwide.
Love and support him forever!
I laughed when I read here that CA sold thru QVC!
Didn't know that at all.
Same strategy with Susan Boyle why she sold 2M.
LOL!
@2.33pm
You don't know what they took into consideration.....maybe it wasn't confined to US album sales.....
Just maybe they took into account international sales, popularity/ concerts/ social media hits etc etc...Idol is broadcast in many countries apart from the US, and while the US make up the biggest numbers, the rest of the world shouldn't be discounted.
If you look at things like that then Adam should be the top male Idol contestant. Many of the Idol names bandied about maybe big in the US but never made a dent worldwide. Adam has, I think he and KC are possibly the only 2 Idol contestants to win overseas awards.
I do agree with many of the comments on the article, that Adams writeup compared to all the others is very week......
4:28 & 10:05
Hi Sue!
6:16
Hi Sue lover & defender!
Have a great weekend!
I love adam lambert, yes he is one of the success story from AI. But KC is def. Bigger than adam, but then again, she's got the advantage of time and her genre of music.
Let me ask a question, if adam isn't uber sexy, hot (dear lord) and handsome, do u honestly think, his fflwers will be as large as it is?
Go through his twitter feeds 8 out of 10 tweets are about his sexiness, not strange though,
Adam lambert has got the stage command, the looks, the Voice (my interest).
Kelly clarkson, records sales and awards (musical).
They both have IT, but everyone has diff. Def of success story so...
Internationally Adam is much more known and admired vs Kelly C.That's a fact and NOT talking about record sales or # of concert goers. The worldwideweb and social media ensures Adam's the winner here! He's so much more interesting, appealing, controversial and passion creating than all the rest of the alumns put together!
Adam has many advantages over Kelly in this superficial world of entertainment and music.
He's a man, and a very beautiful, strikingly good looking man with charisma, stage presence like few others etc. He's off the wall photogenic! He soooo entertaining when he's interviewed and he speaks so c l e a r l y and articulates words properly, he's understood also in countries where English is not the main language. He generates PASSION whatever he says, does and sings - don't see KC doing that... And don't, pleeeezzz, jump on me for saying these things, this is not to bash KC in anyway, she has so much talent and a powerhouse voice etc., but she is the typical all American nice girl, woman with absolutely no sex appeal or 'poster girl' material internationally. And the same goes for a lot of these Am Idol alumns, they are not HOT and they lack that IT factor that is needed to be an internationally shining superstar! Ask Simon Cowell, if you don't believe me.
And then there's the difference in music and the type of music they do. Favoring Adam's international appeal here, too. Plus the talent of Adam using his voice in the unique way like no other... US and Am Idol should be so proud of Adam's international success and popularity!
All I see are people making claims without anything to back them up. No number of international hits, no numbers of awards, no stats to back up claiming Adam is better than everybody else on the planet. It's rather silly to see the overzealous statements made declaring others don't do as well and nothing but an opinion to back it up.
4:10
Why are you upset and 'against' fans saying Adam's the one and only international superstar among these Am Idol alumns on an AL fn site?!
Whose fan are you and why are you here all the time, since you only seem to belittle Adam?
I was only talking about these Am Idol alumns mentioned in the article (and I can extent the same I said to all Am Idol alumns throughout the years).
There's no need to have a huge amount of statistics, cause it is general knowledge that country music, country/rock-ish music is not huge anywhere else except USA. Most on that list belong to that 'genre' and the type of music some female AmIdol alumns do, JHud, Fantasia etc. included, is not popular outside US either (ecxept perhaps England and some other English speaking countries). I'm 100% sure the rest of the world knows and or supports Adam more and very few even know some of the names on that list. This is NOT based on opinion only, you can look at the sales charts to vefify this. Most of the alumns are not known outside US. No market for them.
Plus froma fan's point of view Adam as a person is much more interesting, thought provoking and versatile compared to all the alumns put together! :)))))
5:35, please provide a link to these sales charts that verify the rest of the world barely knows the other top idols. If you are 100% sure this should be easy for you to do.
Usually if I post a comment about Adam, it focuses on his vocal talent, his stage presence and his personality. Sure he is sexy as many indicate, but that quality is not going to make him a success in the music industry. It has to be the voice, the song, the promo that will get him a hit single and a successful album. Yes, he has star power, the IT factor, charisma, all traits that lead to success, but for any number of reasons(that most of us can probably list), he hasn't achieved the recognition and success that we all want for him esp. here at home. Hopefully with the release of his third album some time this year, Adam will finally get the recognition that he so deserves for being one of the best vocal talents that the music world has ever heard.
I was curious about what might have made Idol chose the list they did and if there was anything to the arguments on either side here about should Adam have ranked higher. I only follow Adam's career so I didn't know how Kelly or Carrie (or any of the other Idols) have done over the years. So I checked out their Wikipedia pages. This is just a brief summary if you are interested. If you are not, scroll on.
Seems obvious to me why Idol chose who they did. Both Kelly and Carrie have a couple of years head start on Adam but their success can't be denied. Doesn't mean Adam can't surpass them in the future.
Kelly
First single was the best selling single of the year.
Stronger is second best selling Idol alum single to date.
Multiple platinum singles and albums. 91 number ones on Billboard charts and 11 international number ones.
Charted in over 9 countries.
Sold 20 million albums worldwide.
4 AMAs, 1 CMA, 13 Billboard, 3 Grammys.
Only artist to win Grammy Best pop vocal album twice.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_Clarkson_discography
Carrie:
Top selling Idol debut in US.
Fastest selling county debut album in history.
Multiple Platinum in US, Canada and Australia.
Fourth biggest album seller of past 10 years (behind Taylor Swift, 50 Cent and Michael Buble.)
7 AMAs, 10 CMAs, 16 Billboard, 6 Grammys.
Biggest Idol earner.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrie_Underwood_discography
KC and CU have the Country genre on their side. Hip/Hop is trying to tap into this genre. I don't see Adam getting into this type of genre in the future.
This is Adam Lambert website not AI website. Go to that pink website, if you want to talk about Idol.
Admin. Please do something about this crazy person attacking Adam and his fans by manipulation. If I as a business person see my name being carried into the mud, I would do anything to shut it down. Don't understand why Adam's team haven't notice such a thing. There are tons of positive fansites. This place is disrespecting Adam and his fans.
8:10 but this post is about American Idol contestants.
No this is Adam Lambert fansite and the post is about Adam Lambert as one of the successful AI alumni at number four declared by Ryan Seacrest who is one of the influential figures in entertainment industry.
We, his fans, are allowed to say that Adam has more worldwide appeal than others on this fansite that has his name in its banner.
You can say anything you want, doesn't matter if it is true.
Coming back to see where this discussion ended up. :)
A disclaimer: You know I'm a HUGELY supportive fan of Adam's and he's the ONLY AI alum that I spend a whole lot of time paying any attention to, although I do like and appreciate many others, to a lesser or greater extent.
But I still contend (as I stated above) that this list is probably a pretty good GENERAL description of the "success" levels, based on a whole lot of things, and probably certain judgement calls as well, from those who assembled and rated the list, to be honest, of the better known and more successful American Idol contestants up until now.
In spite of the fact that Adam is known more internationally than the others as a general rule, and that fact alone bodes extremely well for his potential as a world-wide star (which he already is to a degree..), and also for his potential for mega-success and longevity in the music business in the long term, I really do agree with the rankings on the list, in that Kelly and Carrie have had more general/commercial "success" (at least in the US..) than Adam (so far) based on record sales, awards, concerts (numbers of people in attendance..and numbers of concerts), and certainly in the US in particular, name recognition, and yes, radio play (darn it!!) (and grrrr...).
They've both had their own major network TV specials. Carrie has co-hosted the CW Music Awards show (or one of those major televised events: I seldom if ever watch the country award shows..) the past few years. She's sold tons of records. And of course, Jennifer Hudson among other things, won an Oscar. So we can probably at least agree that these three ladies have had quite a bit of "visible" success in America for sure. Less worldwide...Although Jennifer would have gotten worldwide exposure with her movie role..
I think it's pretty darn FABULOUS that Adam was rated #4 for his level of "success" based on the criteria used for making up this chart (whatever they actually were). It's something to celebrate and be very proud of him, and to be happy for him. I suspect that if he saw this "ranking", he'd be pleased.
There are arguably others (from AI) who have also had successful careers out there, but at least for some Idol alums, their success and fame levels rose, and then have fallen in the years after their time on Idol. The good news is, many are still making a living in various forms of the entertainment industry.
In other words, I don't see a reason to complain TOO much that Adam was listed as #4. He's listed as the most successful male. Which is pretty awesome. This is NOT an evaluation of his talent or anyone else's, of course, because in my "world" at least, Adam is #1 :)) and DEFINITELY my favorite! But I do "get" that he hasn't quite reached the level of what would be considered "success" when compared to Kelly C. (who I really like and is my second favorite "major" Idol winner/contestant) or Carrie U. (who I have respect for but I'm not really a fan of..not into country music much..).
But here's the thing: Adam is doing some very very cool things, is currently guest starring on Glee, which is getting him out there more, again in a multitude of countries, there's the potential tour with Queen (please please..), new music coming out this year, which will hopefully eventually lead to a new world-wide tour of his own (again, please, please, please..) and who knows what else. In my humble opinion, the sky's the limit for him. His talent and charisma will win out, in my opinion, and in the not too distant future we may very well see his name up there at #1, which, also in my opinion, is where he WILL be..
You can feel free to agree or disagree, it's okay :)) Just my thoughts....
P.S. In this sentence, in the 4th paragraph of my comment above, I should have said:
"..and also for his potential for mega-success and longevity in the music **AND ENTERTAINMENT** business in the long term....."
because, I think he'll have future successes in more than "just" music...
Fingers crossed for him.....
Thumbs up, glitzylady.
xo laura
I think its great that Adam made the list and so far up on it. Be happy hand!!
After this thread ONE thing is for sure:
LOL is definitely from US!
YAY!
Totally agree ! :) Adam has the It Factor, Star power, intelligent, smart, eye candy, charisma, good sense of humor, compassionate, honest, list goes on :)
Love Adam & support his music all the way!!!
And Adam is the ONLY worlwide known and popular singer/performer/entertainer to come out of AmIdol that has so much international appeal that I find it shameful his management and the machinery working for and with him 2009-2013 has not been able to do a better job in ensuring his international fame!
ALL the incredients are there - where is the 'out of the box' thinking of all these 'professionals', do some trail blazing for this incredible VOICE and Master of Entertainment!!!
