I know Dang Dang and Lord Dang. Maybe our resident fans @HK and @Lam-my who know Chinese Manderin can tell us other Adam's nicknames in Chinese.

Would someone be able to explain the meaning of "Dang Dang" and "Lord Dang" to us? Thanks much!

Slow day in the comment section.
Everyone have a super weekend and do something fun!

You too Adam then we'll have something to comment about. :)

OK-this comment is not for the Glamberts who easily get offended at certain topics about Adam, but here goes! You can yell and scream at me all you want-I am Titanium, it will not bother me.....My Chinese friend of many years (she is a part-time Glambert) told me that these nicknames given to Adam refer to his loaded package, if you know what I mean. There, I said it! Don't say I did not warn you.

Adam's Chinese fans love him so! I think his nickname is meant to be affectionate and fun, regardless of its literal meaning.

Pleae tweet SNL for Adam to host the show! I agree, it's a no-brainer!

Ding Dang Dong. hahaha

I have a poem named Ding Dang Dong Dung Duff...written way back before Adam was called Dang Dang. Dang Dang is an endearing name of a cat mascot/doll in China but I have seen it here in Singapore at some festivals, like Hungry Ghost festival where I see them displayed conspicuously, perhaps for good luck or to entertain the ghosts who are believed to be on vacation at this time of year; called 7th Month or Ghost Month. They call Adam Dang Dang because it sounds a bit like Adam which in Chinese would sound as Ya-Darm (high sound) and in Cantonese, like my aged Mom would pronounce Adam as Ah Darm. lwl! Later, when Adam visited China so often especially Shanghai, they shouted Dang Dang (pronounced as Darng Darng) when he was on stage or in a crowd of fans; Then morphed into Lord Dang because they respected his prowess as a singer; to which Adam humbly declined that it is not Lord, just Dang. Now I see it has morphed some more to Load Dang! Perhaps from the Trespassing song...till you get a load of me. lwl! Quite an ingenious switch and I think Load Dang might just be Adam's Chinese name from now but Dang Dang is still the most endearing like the cat mascot.
9:25.....Hope this helps a bit! the metamorphosis of Dang Dang. lwl!

In my poem, I rotate the sounds...

Ding dang dong dung duff
Adamania laughs and loves
Concerts galore, starry sky above
That's invigorating, musical stuff
Dang dong dung duff ding
2013 is going to bring
Tremendous style, with a celestial ring
For Adam to be the new swing king
Dong dung duff ding dang
Forward march with the Glambert gang
Reining in the Year with glamour and bang
Trespassing...from strength to strength
Dung duff ding dang dong
Welcome aboard with an Adam song
His power voice will scare King Kong
Shatters...smashes like ping pong
Duff ding dang dong dung
Adam is lovable, a friend's best chum
He cares, smiles, offers you rum
His sexy killer wails make you pump
Happy 2013 !!!
To Adam and Sauli, 24/7 and All Jump...bump...yum...Cheers...!!!

7:22, I'm guessing that was a typo, they meant Lord.

Hi Lam-my, thanks for your comments about Adam's Chinese nicknames. Very clever and cute.

You're most welcome! Henceforth, Adam's Chinese name is Dang Dang or Load Dang...lol! Like a kind of Chinese baptism of love; throw some firecrackers to sanctify it. Actually Adam did get baptised on the Chinese stage; they love him. Hello there Dang Dang...sure want a load of you! lol!

In Chinese / actual name: Ya Dang Lan Bo Te...Ya Dang / Adam, Lan Bo Te / Lambert. (Lan pronounced as Larn, Bo as Bore and Te as Ter) Can be written out in strokes form. Adam might have been presented with a scroll with his Chinese name written in strokes; I seem to recall that...presented to him.
Nickname: Dang Dang or Lord Dang
Lord Dang in Chinese: Dang Ye
Ye means Lord/Sage, high hierarchy ranking.
So Load in the tweet could be a misspelling as pointed out by 7:45.

Slow news day indeed.

@ Lam-my.....Ni hao Ma?

I like learning bits about the Chinese language and culture and it seems quite appropriate on this thread especially....
As much as I loved history, it was mainly centered on Europe .... I'm trying to expand my horizons! : )). JAK

Wo hao, bu chwor/not bad, xie xie. So you are back, fresh from the battle-field...lwl! I thought you would be more well-versed in American history than European. Now my favourite programme is Ancient Aliens, A.D. era history. I feel Adam should forge into China; he's so respected and loved there especially by his harem of Shangdam girls. lol! Mmm Dang Dang is going to make it dang big there. lol! I heard you're augmenting your studies...jia yeoh! (add oil, literal) go for it/work hard. Ni hao! :)

JAK...so glad to see you back. I live about 30 minutes from TIA, am an avid Adam fan, also write poetry, write Elvis poetry, too. I guess I should go on twitter or facebook so I could communicate with you. Went to both of Adam's concerts here in Tampa. Thought you might want to get together unless there's a reason I don't know. Just call me 'Annie' for now. Will look for your comment.
