Both the vocal coach and Adam suggested that Spencer not use his guitar - did he? Know he isnt a finalist. Again have to say how fun it was to see JB (think that's his initials) greet Adam since he seemed to really be excited about it. . . . Adamluv
Loved looking at this vid again. Adam just emanates a powerful confidence in any room he occupies. A real star should have that certain something beyond all else. Adam has it. Looks alone aren't enough. Even a great voice is not enough. Gotta have those intangibles, and Adam has them. I'm sure lots of viewers, esp. girls, loved Spencer because he's so good-looking. But it has to be more than that. Good luck to the finalists.
So true but at the same time he makes everyone else look like nothing much. Everybody who's looking at Adam must be thinking that he would sing and perform the song a lot better.
And I am not talking about Idol contestants only. All in all, sharing the stage with Adam is a risky business for any professional singer.
12:01 pm, no he did not use the guitar. The funny thing was Randy told him to. Told him to ride the horse that got him there. Then the judges said they they preferred him with an instrument. Maybe Randy does know what the judges like. But playing an instrument didn't help in his wild card sing off.
Adam is so encouraging and hands-on in his mentoring; he actually takes over the mic and demonstrates how to project a certain movement; why did they cut the part where he did that? Yes the most important thing is being able to mentor, but above all, it's the contestants believing in Adam that will inspire them to take his advice seriously and they do, especially if they have been following his Idol journey.
Perhaps Adam should do an annual workshop for the future AI contestants and film the workshop in detail; we too can learn much from his hands-on style of mentoring with actual demonstrations not just armchair mentoring. lwl!
@adamluv No Spencer didn't use the guitar.....And I agree with Adam. Spencer actually had a lot of charisma and stage presence, and really worked the stage, unfortunately his vocals were not great....
Most people on a few web sites I went to thought Spencer was full of himself and not that great of vocals and one of he songs he did was his original and it was a rip off from other artists. I kind of liked him and wish he could have went a little further.

Just looked at the picture again and realized that Ms. Garcia is a movement coach not a vocal coach. Sorry for the mistake. . . . Adamluv
Me again. Well, they say 3's a charm. lol. It's CJ, not JB. An apology to CJ for giving him that punk rapper wannabes initials. . . . Adamluv

12:01 He didn't use a mic stand either. Adam told him he really liked it when he played with the stand, and he didn't use one.

@HK - thanks for answering my question. . . . Adamluv
Adamluv, two other people answered your question as well.
I gather Spencer was the last contestant in this clip.
Randy is absolutely right on; Adam is "the greatest singer"!!
