We all love you Dr May. You are a true gentleman. Hats off to him and Roger seeing the potential Adams fans have always seen?

Dr. Bri is a generous, perceptive, astute, kind, sensitive man. Words like these for Adam will always be etched into the history of Adam and Queen and into the annals of rock music itself. Adam is a part of it. What a gift for all of us.

I believe Brian made that comment after hearing a recording of Adam singing "Time for Miracles". I know it was a while back but will always be cherished.

@blueeyes
I'm so happy to hear you'll be going to the concert.. and sending healing thoughts to you!!!

Wonder when Sir B made that comment. You said it might have been when he heard "Time for Miracles". That was a few years ago right after AI. He might have heard it later, I thought the remark was made when Adam sang some Queen songs, when he forgot to play the guitar listening to Adam. Any way he is definitely in awe of Adam's voice, and isn't afraid to say so. I love Time for Miracles. I don't think he is free to use it any where.

Anonymous said...

Don't know why Brian would say that about "Time for Miracles", it's not a rock song.

glitzylady said...

He said it about ADAM and his voice and incredible talent... obviously.. :))) The song doesn't really matter..........

From Adam just now...

Adam Lambert ‏@adamlambert 44m
We sold out Madison Square Garden!?! Woah!! @QueenWillRock

Congrats to Queen and Adam!

Woots to QAL but why the question mark in his tweet? I worry about every little thing. He surely checked it out w/ MSG before posting that tweet, right?

iThe magic of creativity, love, health, perseverance, success and adoration of your fans accompany you Adam and Queen, in this spectacular new stage! Dr. Brian May and Roger Taylor infinite thanks for recognizing the exceptional talent and sensitivity Artistica Adam! God bless you! HH

In this case, the song mattered a great deal...the picture shows Adam just completed singing WWTLF; this song was composed by Brian in his darkest moments of depression. So Adam's very difficult high note at the end of this song brought Brian close to tears. He exactly dropped his hand from his red guitar with huge relief, when Adam's voice soared; bringing back Brian's reminiscence of his depressive moments that he battled with. Having said that, Glitzylady too has a point that " the song doesn't really matter..." in a more general sense but not in this particular situation reflected in the picture.

My comment was in response to @anon 10:20 PM.. who wondered why Dr. Bri would say that about Time For Miracles (why not?? :)). Some one above @Anon 10:15 PM had suggested that the comment from Dr. Bri was made some years ago, perhaps around the time of Time For Miracles..

My comment was meant to indicate that Adam's voice is stunning no matter what he sings.. :)) And yes, WWTLF means so much to Dr.Bri... It's an incredibly moving song, and Adam's voice is perfect for it, to say the very least.. To hear Adam's voice ringing out from every speaker, surrounding us at the iHeart Radio Music festival last Sept. was the experience of a lifetime for me.. simply incredible!! The vids of the song do not do it full justice.. although they are amazing in themselves.

The picture accompanying the quote was enhanced by @FoxVegas.. and was indeed from iHeart.. The quote may have been from an earlier time...

Either way... a truly beautiful and heartwarming thing for Brian May to say about Adam... He's such a great guy, and obviously loves and respects Adam so much.. Me too......

I was commenting on the picture which I recognise from IHeart but not sure about when the quote was said, most likely not referring specifically to WWTLF; a more general sense, like just in awe of Adam's technique/delivery/voice. The song is significant to Brian May who in his own words I read some time ago, he wanted to throw in the towel altogether, in a life and death sense; and so the title of the song, Who Wants To Live Forever.
I must say you sure know how to zip around to attend most of Adam's concerts.

There's no need to sweat the small stuff, folks. Being pedantic is heavy-going and not necessary.

@Lam-my
:)) I've been to some, but definitely not most, of Adam's concerts.. More than some have, and far less than others, that's for sure!!! I feel very fortunate to have been able to see him more than once.. I made a point of going to iHeart last September because I truly was hoping to hear Adam sing with Queen, and wasn't sure if I'd get the chance to do so. Thankfully, they'll be doing the tour here in North America.. And I'm VERY excited to be able to hear a full concert this summer... 30 minutes was amazing but 2 hours (or so) will be unbelievable! I've always loved Queen and we know I kinda like Adam :)) so it's truly a dream come true..

That comment was made after Dr. Brian May heard the just finished recording of Time For Miracles but not the released stuff yet.
He even said for sure it would be a hit because it was unbelievably rendered by Adam and now for sure the world has a rock voice to behold. (Of course it was not released as a single and was not heard on the radio.)
Meatloaf was also raving about this same thing while not released yet, they could have been together in the same place listening to TFM.
The only thing I am not sure is if they were together, Brian and Meatloaf.

If you Google the quote you find Brian wrote it on his blog after hearing Time For Miracles. He heard it while visiting Rob Cavallo in California. Why guess or speculate or say it doesn't matter. Easy to Google.

10:42 pm, maybe he saw something on twitter. Tickets are still available at Ticketmaster.

glitzylady said...

The only tickets available on Ticketmaster for Madison Square Garden (that I'm seeing on the site) currently are "Official Platinum Seats". There are exactly 18 of those tickets available. They are priced from $450 to $795.

The Ticketmaster site for MSG says there are no tickets available at this time online (on their site) other than those....

There are many tickets available elsewhere: Stub Hub, for instance, has 1,770 available... starting at $105...

This was about the time of "Time for Miracles" and Brian had already been on AI with Adam so he knew he could sing rock...

What should be important is WHAT this uberwise, sensitive, highly praised rock icon and magnificent guitarist said and WHY - read the words everybody, especially all you doubters, naysayers and shitstirrers!

Anybody that works with Adam or knows music knows what an awesome voice Adam has and his personality is a plus . .
even tho he doesn't have the record sales . . he is head and shoulders above most of the entertainers out there!

And what a nice head and shoulders

Love Dr. Brian's comment about Adam in recognizing what a super talented vocalist he is. There is such a true love, respect and admiration among all three-Brian, Roger and Adam-and soon so many more will see this during the summer concert series. Adam must be feeling so good about all these lovely comments comings from Brian and Roger as soon as the announcement was made about their concert series this summer. Adam may not have the tremendous record sales that some other performers have, but I believe he will have longevity in the entertainment world branching out into various other artistic endeavors.

12:26 it's called conversation people actually do that nowadays, believe it or not.

Never thought I'd say this, but I 100% prefer the now Adam vs that featured pic with eyeliner on top right hand side of this page. That look fit him great earlier on during the Glam Nation Tour but OMG, look at him now!!!!

Anonymous said...

6:25, Adam has made such great connections in the music business and in the world of show business at large. Everyone who meets him likes him. He has networked well. His talent is evident in everything he does. I think his future will be varied and will take many different directions. Record sales and tours on one thing, but not the only thing. He is making his mark in many ways.

Yes, this current look is perfect for him. The makeup suited him 4 years ago, I liked it then, but I no longer liked the glam makeup on Wag tour.

I absolutely remember Brian making that comment after hearing "Time for Miracles"

Meatloaf made comments about Adam's voice very early on. He said he possessed qualities rarely seen and compared him to Whitney and Aretha.. Smart guy!

Touche!
Wish it happened here more often, though, real conversation... a rare thing on a blog where commenting ON topic is overpowered by OT & OTT posts, not to even mention posts by immature shitstirrers, trolls and other misfits...

Anonymous said...

@8:04 well, you just killed the conversation..

Anonymous said...

Thank you very much Mr Brian May... sigh... thud.. faint... LOL... still what an honour.. Axel

Adam is aging like fine wine in every possible way.

How about Brainbert or Bribert?
He is so sophisticated and wise (astrophysics & sophistication of brain and heart) and simply BRILLIANT!
And those locks!!! <3<3<3
