I had to google "Penny Dreadful" because I'd never heard of the show and I won't be watching it because I'm not a fan of horror, real or fake.
Thank you @3:36 AM. Adam goes lots of places I don't want to tread. lol. I'll just wait for him to come back to my comfort zone and adore him from it.
Yes a bit to risqué for pearl clutcher Glamberts
Good to know Adam is able to take a break from all the excitement surrounding the start of The Tour. I wonder if he's breaking in his new home by relaxing and watching stuff on a big screen.
"Modern take on gothic horror, set in 1890's London"... sounds promising...
Pearl clutcher Glamberts is a contradiction of terms.
There's way more than enough horror in this world.
'Pearl clutcher Glamberts' .... what a loada ........
Gonna give Penny Dreadful a look. I like edgy stuff like that.
Pearl Clutcher or Glambert? Some people go both ways.
@6:35 AM Nope, you can't have it both ways.
This old glitter T-Rex opines that Penny Dreadfiul is sardonically hilarious and wildly funny in the shows we watched. I laffed so hard I broke my 17 cm pearls.
I want Adam to be a wholesome boy and not smoke pot or do anything overly sexual. I am ok with gay culture as long as it's rated PG. I am a pearl clutcher glambert.
This is very Mary Shelley, Oscar Wilde, Jack the Ripper, fin-de-siècle gothic horror. John Logan is no slouch as a writer. Quality horror. Good stuff Adam!
Glamberts don't have to like everything Adam likes, and that doesn't make them pearl clutchers.

Wow; why don't you tell us what you really think. Your narrow minded distinction between gay culture and straight culture boggles the mind. Hello, there is not a whole lot of difference except sexual orientation!
Adam is a grown man; not a boy, and certainly not yours! Maybe you should stick with the wholesome straight singers who are good boys and PG rated in the music industry, who don't smoke pot and are not overly sexual, good luck with that!
Adam has said nothing about currently smoking pot. Adam Lambert is a very wholesome and good man. Sexy, Adam is that, but the man just can't help it; thank goodness.
Your problem with Adam seems to have nothing to do with clutching pearls. You may not be aware of it, think about it!!
Loved the show from the very first episode! Last weeks was a little bizarre.
I don't think it's a show for everyone though. Only we that can appreciate a little edge.
People can have differences of opinion without being subject to ridicule because of it. C'mon, it's a free country...we're just talking about a TV show!
I've never seen the show, and don't get into "horror" stuff either because I tend to find it disturbing, but to each his/her own. I get a mystery magazine every month and many of the stories are very edgy, but I read it more for the writing quality, fuller development of characters (even if they're just short stories) and the plot twists/turns.
Do you have to have watched Penny Dreadful from the first episode to get it? Or can you jump in now and still know what's going on? I want to give it a try.
Different tastes for different people, I don't like GLEE, am I a pearl clutcher. I have never liked horror movies, or shows. I like Adam in concert, or otherwise, what does that make me?
It's not often I like Adam's taste in vampire or horror stuff, I almost always never like his artistic taste in paintings. Adam is who he is, a little off center.
He admits it.
Why do people have to stereotype themselves. Adams unique in every sense of the word and Glamberts should follow suit.
'Pearl clutcher Glamberts' huh!
Time for an exact definition so many Glamberts know how they've been labelled. Talk about putting people in the box instead of outside.
Sweeney Todd was a Penny Dreadful.
Interesting history to the name.

Adam doesn't need anyone to defend him.
they makeout on that show alot.
We do not have to "follow suit" about Adam's unique style. He is a separate life far different from most of us. Let him be unique in his own special way, and we will be unique in our own special way. He enjoys his life, we enjoy ours. His 'likes' on IG are often unique known only to Adam, and a complete puzzle to me.I like Adam the performer, I would probably like him in person too, but I am never going to know him personally as a friend. If Adam likes "Penny Dreadful" so be it, it is the very reason I don't have Showtime on my TV. Too many shows I don't like. Yes I did try Showtime for a while and cancelled it. My own unique reasons.

Have I missed something, or is there no hype on the media, for any of the summer concerts, including Queen+Adam. I heard there are like 40 summer concerts this summer, how do people hear about them. Do you have to do your own homework and check it out on the computer. I am not a follower of very many singers or bands, but I might like to go and see some ones concert.
The genre he is particularly fascinated by, vampires and miscellaneous supernatural stuff, mostly appeals to teenagers and young people in their early twenties. So it is no wonder that many of his fans do not share his enthusiasm.
Not sure if I'll check out that show. Horror and seduction doesn't sound too appealing to me, but the fascination with that particular genre seems to be a generational thing.
Most of the time I actually don't share Adam's enthusiasm for his artistic "likes" - be it certain artists, music, or music videos, or even visual art. That's okay, I still adore him. He's such an amazing singer. I am listening to "Best of..." a lot currently, and my favorite songs are the ones where his voice shines. For some reason I have "One", "Tracks of My Tears" and "Can't Let You Go" on constant repeat lately. Oops, sorry for being off topic.
I think I will never "get" everything about Adam. But that may be part of my fascination about him.
I'm not a teen or a 20-something, but given the right premise, I enjoy a good vampire/supernatural show.. Add a little "sexy" in the mix, even better ;)) It's about quality, not necessarily genre, for me personally.. My hubby and I were watching "True Blood" on HBO before Adam mentioned it.. I don't have Showtime on my cable subscription but that could change.. :)))
I agree, we are all different in what we enjoy watching on TV, or movies.. And it's okay to be young at heart :))

You do kinda need to see it from the beginning, but you can go to Showtime On Demand and watch all of the episodes!
I'm 63 in Las Vegas, my friend in San Diego is 70. We've watched Penny Dreadful on the phone together EVERY WEEK since the start. We are both also huge Adam Lambert fans! Get with it people! I even Tweeted a link TO Adam a few weeks ago. Though I didn't hear back from him, I KNEW that if he watched, he'd like it. It IS Sexy and Sophisticated. One doesn't need to be "young" to appreciate it. It's one of the best-developed and well-written and directed shows I've seen in AGES. The plot is original and the set designs are flawless. Magiclady is correct..get Showtime on Demand and watch it from the first episode! Enjoy!
@3:25
You don't know how happy your post made me!
First: Watching a good series ON THE PHONE together with a friend sounds soo nice! That is putting the phone in to very good use, gonna suggest that to a long distance friend of mine. So seldom nowadays we have a chance to meet face-to-face...
Second: "Sexy and Sophisticated", sounds like you & your friend belong to the same category! And Adam as we all know is EXACTLY that!
Third:
Age is nothing but a number! Have only seen the trailers and watched every possible youtube vid re this series, will definitely start watching it!
Last but not least:
Tell your friend "Hi" and "keep on truckin" and loving Adam!!!
