From Click Music: "Queen + Adam Lambert’s iHeart Radio show proved they’ve rediscovered their killer instincts"

"Love Kills was a definitive shift in the evolution of Queen"

Excerpt from the article

...."Adam is different. He's an incredible singer with a charismatic presence on stage and he's managed to form a strong friendship with Brian and Roger along the way. That friendship has a real spark to it that promises to light up stages across North America this summer. Their surprise performance of 'Love Kills' last night – a song from Freddie's solo back catalogue – crackled with originality and managed to pay tribute to one of music's all-time greats by doing it differently. It marked a shift in the evolution of Queen."

"For the first time in a long time, it feels like Queen really are back, regenerated into something distinct and exciting. And fans should be excited because Adam has helped Brian and Roger rediscover the spark that defined the band before Freddie's death. He's helped them become 'Killer Queen' all over again."

JAK here....the first 9 or 10 times I listened to Love Kills I listened to Adam.....then coming out of the spell he cast....the next 10 times I listened to the band! Those superb musicians weave a spell of their own, it's like listening to a symphony orchestra, the power is incredible.

I texted several friends, and a few relatives...I sent them a link to just the audio. They all liked it...of course they all guessed it was Adam. I'm pretty transparent in my push to gain new Adam fans. Of course I got the usual response whenever I send one of his powerhouse renditions. "When he puts out an album like that, we'll buy it!"

I wonder how many surprises we will hear on the tour?

I guess it's a balancing act for Adam. I imagine he wants to release songs he enjoys a performing and at the same time, cater for his existing fans while hoping to gather new fans. So it'll certainly be interesting to hear album #3 when it's ready. :-)

Oops! That should read "he enjoys performing" not "he enjoys a performing" ....... sheeeeesh!!!

JAK @2:15AM: It's ironic that you mentioned sending friends a link to Adam singing Love Kills. I actually sent the video of Adam's performance with Queen to several friends also, esp. one in SC who really has no idea as to what is happening in Adam's life and career. She thought it was amazing and thanked me for sending it to her. I have watched the video at least 6 or 7 times and also paid close attention to the musicians the last time I watched it. Brian May is a genius on the guitar and I love the way Adam will walk over to him as he is singing and puts his hand on Brian's shoulder. There is such love and respect among all the band members and it certainly shows in their confident and comfortable performance on stage. If this preview is any indication of the overall concert, it is going to be one spectacular summer for Queen and Adam Lambert.

Paul Leake was spot on in his article. Adam is simply THE ONE that was always out there waiting for fate to bring them together. And it happened. Brian said, "Adam makes it all worthwhile again." Powerful words. Most of us here have run out of superlatives. But we feel it, Adam feels it; Brian and Roger feel it. It's something so perfect, you can't describe it.

JAK, kudos to you for spreading the word about Adam so well. I sent the WWTLF link from the IHR show to others and got great feedback. How can Adam capture these new admirers with his third album? What will be the charm? The Queen tour will surely bring visibility to him and well-deserved credibility. But it has to result in getting people to buy his own music. Fingers crossed!
