Freddie was never a saint. He is just a guy who made rock popular in the 70's and 80's. He was never a good role model, and I refuse to bow down to him. I would never put him on a pedestal.
He was popular with the people and sang and wrote songs they liked. Now he is dead. Queen is an old but still popular rock group, and Adam does a great job singing all these old songs. But Adam overdoes the rock royalty a bit. They are great musicians, and Adam is equal with his voice to their talent. Freddie is no patron saint of anything. Sorry Adam, you must have your own idea of what a saint should be, and it ain't Freddie.
I am not a Freddie hater, I never listened to Queens music, before Adam started singing it.

Much as I love Adam, he is totally ignorant of anything religious. Except for his wish to play Judas in a movie, the man responsible for the death of Jesus. I bet Adam does not even know that Jesus was a Jew.

There is no such thing as a rock God, spelled with a capital G.

I think some of you are taking an innocent post by Adam WAY too seriously.
Freddie and Queen earned their place in history. Adam is honoured to carry on the legend. I don't think Adam was trying to compare Freddie to one of the Apostles. Lighten up, friends.

I think Adam was using a figure of speech. But Freddie is dead, and let Adam continue singing the songs with Queen. This might be a tribute, but Freddie wasn't the only team member.

3:11 has it right. The term patron saint is often used to describe a guardian of a cause or group - a figure of speech. It has nothing to do with any religion.

Dear Freddie was and still is icon I'm 21 years old and I love Queen Freedie was more than than singer he was hope for love feedom, peace, equality same as Adam now he was Adam's Idol and I understand why He was unique extraordinary same as Adam He loved music people and life same as Adam They are so different as and also so similar He was great role model he was teacher of love and equality he died on AIDS because he care more about music as your healthy he wasn't bad human he was amazing human same as Adam that's all

Yes, he is a non- practicing Jew, on his mothers side. Went to Hebrew school for a few months. That is the extent of his knowledge of Jewish history, almost nil.

I love this post of Adam's. He is a very respectful man .... and I feel he knows Judaism more than people here give him credit for. He has said he's proud of his Jewish heritage.

Freddie may be dead but his music & legacy live on. Queen are making sure of this and rightly so. Those who object to the Freddie legacy, how would you like it if Adam were criticized and/or forgotten when he passes on.

I am religious and yes I know Adam used 'Patron Saint' as figure of speech.

Three things that are better left out when people who don't really know each other are making conversation... Religion, politics and sex.

Since it is totally impossible to leave out the last one - this being Adam Lambert fan site, LOL! - how about leaving out the first two? Our man is not into either one of those and here are people from many origins and cultures...
