Tyler Glenn, lead singer for Neon Trees ("Animal"), who identified himself as a gay man earlier this year in Rolling Stone (sound familiar?), just spoke with website PressPLAY about his evolution as an "out" male pop star and about.....#Glenbert...?!

READ:

You may also remember that Tyler made a statement in that earlier Rolling Stone interview that there was no male gay icon in pop music to balance out the success of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis after their single "Same Love" became a radio hit to which he then later publicly apologized to Adam in OUT Magazine:

“I didn't want him to think I was leaving him out. I'll use Out.com to say that I enjoy him."

To which Adam responded by tweet (which we posted HERE on 24/7):

More recently, Tyler was video interviewed by Radio.com, and the topic of conversation turned again to being a gay male pop icon and to his previous quote above, to which he put forth even more praise for Adam (skip to 4:05):

Adam the man . . . our man

Hold on there....
I hope and suggest we keep "the ...berting" only to Adam related issues - and not mix it with other bands (even if their lead singer refers to Adam how many times, lol), Adam Lambert/Glambert lingo only!

Sorry had to quit listening.... Like... his voice was a little too whinny for me ;)

@blu
Right on, he is our man.... Well said.

I'm kinda I not liking this young man much. Agree Rose Petal, kinda of whinny for me and it almost seems he thinks he is the real trail blazer for openly gay artists in the music business. Yep, Adam is OUR man alright.

He's certainly not an enjoyable to listen to as adam is. He's kinda drone-y. Seems not enough. Good that he makes a point of acknowledging adam. Adam is in an elite group of trailblazers who are willing to take the necessary risks. Love our guy the best!

Meant "nice" enough. Bad phone typing.

No one seems to have all Adam's gifts such as talent, looks, charm, and charisma, etc. However, it's nice to know that there were some musicians who "got" Adam after the AMAs. Unfortunately, there were not too many celebrities who spoke out for Adam, straight or gay. Probably they were too skerred..hahah

I can listen to Adam talk forever . . . this guy . . . not so much ..
Adam never started out on a soapbox . . . it was kinda handed to him and now I consider him a spokesperson for gay rights. . . I just love it that he is true to himself
Oh BTW . . Brian and Roger. . . have I told you guys how much I love you today!

Listening to this guy talk, almost put me to sleep. What an ego to think he will be the trail blazer for gays. Adam has been a trail blazer in the US, and it has not been easy for him to be accepted here. He is still not all the way accepted, but what Queen has done for him, is a real break thru. Brian and Roger are so very open to sing his praises about his voice and charisma. They don't talk about him being gay, that is not in the least bit important to them. They see him as a huge talent that the world has not all met yet. With the success of this tour many people are finding out who he is, and enjoying the show, and coming back for more. I think for the most part, people know he is gay, but once he starts singing, if they did have a hang up with that, it is forgotten in the moment of their enjoyment of his unusual talent and performance.
Even Brian stops playing his guitar to watch Adam sometimes. I love the obvious friendship between Adam and the band members.
I hope his album comes out quickly after the tour is over, while the excitement about Adam is still fresh in the minds of his new fans he has gained.

The more out and proud performers there are, the better for everybody.

Very eloquent and honest guy, it seems. I am thankful he's mentioning Adam and bringing up the AMAs in the context of "out" gay pop stars in music versus straight guys singing gay related songs. What happened back then at the AMAs was heartbreaking for me, but I'm way over it now and I do realize how important a shake-up it was. I still believe that it was a costly statement for Adam but his stamina made him persevere to a point of now earning wide recognition for his integrity. I believe that the message in this particular interview would be different if someone like Adam had not majorly contributed toward an exciting new chapter for out gay pop stars and artists in general.

This guy, Tyler, (sorry I'd never heard of him before) makes some good points but like some of you have posted, he definitely does not have an interesting speaking voice...maybe his songwriting is great, I don't know. I'm glad he recognizes Adam as a trail blazer as an out and proud gay man. There's no competition between Tyler and Adam....Adam will always be in a league of his own. In fact, I've never heard any other pop or rock star speak as intelligently and articulate as well as Adam. Adam is truly an amazing person. His mega talent, good looks, charisma, intelligence, kindness, generosity, loyalty to friends and family...well the list goes on and on.

I think the Queen Tour has been a great opportunity for Adam. I hope when his new album comes out some of these new fans will want to hear Adam as a solo artist as well.

:-).....I see I'm not alone.....as soon as this young man began to speak I was transported back to science class in high school. Mr. Root's class ( yes, his name was Root.)
His voice was a drone...perfect to choose a seat in back of the room and nap to...first class after lunch. When the class was over and the bell rang I'd lift my head and ask my friend..."Sandra, did I drool?" "she'd say, only a little, you're okay."

JAK, I love your little Mr. Root story! I've had a few Mr. Roots in my time, too. we somehow survive school in spite of them. I think this Tyler Glenn guy seems very nice and has had similar struggles growing up like so many other gay people. He understands the need for more progressive work in gay rights and acceptance. Too bad he is not a dynamic speaker. Adam is truly a rare gem when it comes to being interviewed. Not only does he TALK, but he is thoughtful, smart, entertaining and humble all at the same time. Not to mention being drop-dead gorgeous, which I'm sure Mr. Root was not, otherwise you would have stayed awake in science class. LOL
