In honor of Spirit Day, GLAAD is giving away pairs of tickets to three contest winners who will get to attend AT&T's Live Proud finale event, featuring an intimate live performance by Adam Lambert.
LGBT advocate and performer Adam Lambert has teamed up again with AT&T for the "Live Proud" campaign that encouraged LGBT folks to share how they "live proud" by creating memes for social media.
To enter the contest, tweet using the hashtag #SpiritDay to tell GLAAD why you support LGBT youth. Winners will be picked on Thursday, October 9. The event and private performance will be held the evening of Monday, October 13 at the Highline Ballroom in New York City.
Live Proud celebrates awareness, empowerment, and pride for the LGBT community. In addition to taking place the week of Spirit Day, the Live Proud finale event also occurs during LGBT History Month. Check out GLAAD's interview with Adam about Live Proud and LGBT advocacy here.
With Spirit Day around the corner, Adam, AT&T, and LEAGUE at AT&T are working hard to continue their support LGBT youth, as they have all participated in the annual awareness campaign in past years. Spirit Day, which will take place on October 16, inspires millions to wear purple or ‘go purple’ online in a united stand against bullying and to show their support for LGBT youth. Each year, Spirit Day draws the participation of celebrities, corporations, media outlets, sports leagues, schools, faith institutions, national landmarks, and individuals. Spirit Day is made possible by the generous support of its national partners PepsiCo and Wells Fargo, as well as official partner Comcast-NBCUniversal, and supporting partner American Eagle Outfitters.

Adam is a very effective LGBT leader because he gives a worldwide face to them. Even I, from the opposite side of the world have gotten to know more in depth, the problems and obstacles faced on a daily basis by the LGBT people.
When I wrote my first gay poem, I simple wrote about two people in love..."Walking hand in hand across the desert sand / Saving all their love till the very end". It was not until much later, I realised I had written my first gay poem. lwl! That's how natural I felt about two same sex people in love; like other couples. So yes, one day, they'll all be like me lwl! not bothered at all, two guys or two girls holding hands walking across the desert sand.
I notice Adam getting a lot more acceptance from his home country people. I also think Dr Brian and Roger did the right thing to restore Adam's dignity, though only a by-product. These two Sifu literally hauled Adam up by the collar and said Sing! and even crowned him. lwl!
